BBQ was actually pretty good. Overall an ok experience, service friendly but a bit slow. Very convenient to the CW visitors center, but a bit off the main path if not already heading there.

I took the six of us to the restaurant on a Thursday night. We were immediately greeted at the door by some friendly hostesses who struck up conversation with us. We were shown to our booth and Angela our server greeted us took a drink order and brought back some complementary popcorn. We ordered the old fashioned nachos made with house made potato chips and a poblano pepper cheese sauce along with a couple of local beers, a beer sampler and a Lynchburg lemonade. For dinner I had the smoked wings(Angela insisted she bring a side of the house made peanut sauce and it was great!)we also ordered portabella mushroom sandwiches, Brunswick stew and pizza(which the kids make themselves) table side. Angela was great with the kids even offering to bring olives for my sons pizza which weren’t part of the regular offering for kids pizza toppings. Our experience was very pleasant. The service and staff were great and the food was fast and delicious. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place where kids can be kids and family can be themselves look no further. We will be back!

Overpriced, food is average tasting at best, and BBQ sauces leave something to be desired. Wife and son ordered the beef brisket dinner and it arrived with FOUR slices of brisket. I wouldn’t be complaining if it didn’t cost 16 dollars per plate! Additionally, both my wife and son wanted to substitute a side for the slaw, a request they honored but charged an additional two dollars for the substitution. So, the four slices of brisket with Mac and cheese and fries now costs 18 dollars a piece! The slaw and Mac and cheese are on the same side item list so I’m not sure why they up charge to swap one for the other. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was so salty that I could only eat half the sandwich. I tried drowning it in what they attempt to pass off as BBQ sauce, but the four choices they offered were all bad. The server was attentive and friendly so bonus star for that. We will not come back for another try.

Food was good but the restaurant was in a very weird part of the town. Our server was nice, but not attentive. My water glass was endlessly empty. He brought us the complimentary popcorn bar snack about 60 seconds before he set our food down. We had to ask for the table we sat at to be wiped down. Wouldn’t return.

NOSTARS, really! Was not happy at all with the initial service. As soon as we arrived, we were asked if we wanted a table or a booth. We were a family of 7. We asked for a booth and were seated at a booth in the back, near the restrooms. We were seated in the back after bypassing 3 booths in the front of the restroom. Our kids were not too happy about it, noticing there were only white families seated in the front and only one other black family seated in the rear. We asked to be moved and they did allow us to choose a booth but it kind of left a bad feeling amongst our kids, so we left.

This was our first night here in Colonial Williamsburg and, after checking in to adjacent Woodlands Hotel, we decided to eat here after an all-day drive from New York. The staff, just all the staff everywhere in CW, was spectacularly nice and professional. There was no wait, service was courteous and quick. Food however was just not that good. Soup was too oily, focaccia bread in my BLT, as good as that sounds was not very good, kind of saggy, and over buttered. The highlight was CW’s original ginger ale and beer served in really frosty mugs.

Located near the Visitors Center at Colonial Williamsburg, a great option for something between when the houses close at 5 and evening programs to not go to an expensive tavern every night. We had the white pizza, more than enough food for two for $ 15. We had no wait and service was great. Maybe we got lucky, but this seemed like good food at a quick pace for our busy tourist schedule.

Not much of a menu selection. Buffalo chicken sandwich was pitiful. Mac and cheese was like glue. Opens at 5. Got there 530 and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated because kitchen wasn’t ready. Tables were empty and they could have Sat everyone who was hot and tired from walking in the heat at colonial Williamsburg Manager was nice and accommodating and did discount the bill and gave a free dessert.

the pizza tasted like the bad pizza at Busch Gardens. the pulled BBQ chicken sandwich was so blah, it really seemed to be grilled chicken cut up in chunks. the service was average and prices are reasonable. it is convenient if you are staying at the Woodlands but if you can go somewhere else, go elsewhere.

Their pizza is excellent. Call ahead if you’re in a hurry. The hand tossed crust(the only one they have) is quite good. and they are generous with the toppings. I particularly have enjoyed the Hawaiian pizza when they have it on the menu. I wish they were open for lunch.

Wait time was over an hour long. They gave us a complimentary scoop of iced cream to make up for it though… Other than that, the food was subpar. The brisket was overdone — charred on the outside and well done in the middle. The boy had chicken tenders(hard to mess up) and wouldn’t eat them. Good location if your staying at the hotel. Other than that…

My BBQ sandwich was wonderful! Great service and my party and I enjoyed our food extensively. My sister is a picky eater so I was surprised when she told me she loved this place. Definitely recommend!

Good ribs, collards and corn. The kids could also make their own pizzas. It’s always a good sign when you’re so full you have to pop a button.

Love that kids can make their own pizza! Emily, our server was peppy and fun. Really great sides including collard greens and baked beans. Also, good local beers. Will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Families, if you’re going to CW, stay at the Woodlands for two reasons — it’s inexpensive, and Huzzah. This was a little gem — we had a great dinner here. Server was very polite and enthusiastic, and the food was good all around. Plus, they have a great bar — I recommend the old scratch ale for the beer snobs. I’m also a pizza snob, and they delivered. 18″ pizza loaded with meat, and extra cheese for only a buck more. I *almost* finished it. Family liked their salad, kid pizza, and the dessert was good too. Absolutely no complaints and i would eat here again in a heartbeat.

A very comfortable place with great music playing in the background. I wanted the Flights & Bites, but they said they were not preparing the bites for lunch. The four local beers were decent, but the craft beer market has grown so much, these just don’t stand out. Williamsburg Alewerks had 3 of the 4 beers on the flight; the wheat was the best of them, but the spiciness was overdone and seem to be added spices rather than natural esters from fermentation. The pork BBQ sandwhich was decent, but a little fatty. The four sauces were okay. I liked the South Carolina mustard sauce the best; I’m not sure what was in the North Carolina sauce bottle, but it was not typical of the style(it was more of an infused vinegar, rather than a vinegar-based sauce). Overall: comfortable, friendly, and convenient, but there are better options in Williamsburg.

Eating here is sort of like eating in a hotel’s restaurant in that you know things are going to be overpriced, you’re only doing it because the location was convenient and if you are able to order something that was even remotely edible then you’ve left a winner. In other words, I had very low expectations when we ate here. Now this place seems to market itself based on three things: BBQ, homemade BBQ sauces and pizza. Now at a place like this there was no way in hell that I was going to order anything BBQ related as I had zero faith in having something of quality put on my plate. So that led us to naturally go the pizza route but since we wanted to try something additional we opted for the chicken nacho appetizer as well. Let’s start with the good part with the chicken nachos. The nachos are actually chips that they make in house as opposed to sort kind of corn based tortilla chip from a bag and surprisingly when combined with the chicken, cheese and other toppings it equaled something that was honestly awesome. So after that high start we were lulled into thinking that maybe the pizza would be good but ehhhhhh, not so much. The cheese was greasy rubber and the sauce tasted like something that would have made Hector Boiardi proud with it’s sickeningly sweet flavor. No complaints at all with the service it was just simply a matter of what I assume are inferior ingredients being used to make an inferior product in regards to the pizza. I’m waffling between two and three stars but I’ll be generous and go three on the basis on the service/nachos but I will admit that it’s a generous rating and most Unilocalers probably wouldn’t go there when having a similar experience.

The flights and bites were great. The shrimp pizza was good but it could have used a bit more shrimp. Our waitress Angel was prompt, friendly and knew the menu well. All in all great date night, will visit again.

The server was very nice and prompt but I disliked having the same response to EVERYTHING I said, «it would be my pleasure» is a bit redundant after the second or even third time not to mention, the whole meal. The prices were significantly less than the other local restaurants and you get a TON of food that’s pretty tasty! Unfortunately, we were charged for something that we had a coupon for(from our hotel) and we never even received it in the first place… :/(this was rectified) Lastly, my husband and I both experienced Huzzah’s revenge the next day… not fun!

I have to say. I was blown away by this place. We were staying last weekend at the Woodland’s Hotel(next door) and I was excited to hear there was a restaurant at the hotel. The Huzzah! Restaurant is located in a separate building just steps away from the Woodland’s lobby. After a tiring day through Colonial Williamsburg we decided to shower and have a casual dinner here before going out later in the evening. When we walked in at 5:30(Friday night) we were thinking of just sitting at a high top table at the bar but instead grabbed a cozy booth by the window. It was pretty empty for this time so noise was not a factor. We were greeted by John O. Who hands down is my favorite server of all time. Being a craft beer lover(but not as knowledgeable as I’d like to be) I asked him what they had on tap. Instead of running down the list he asked me what type of beer I liked and proceeded to give me the perfect selection. Their beer selection is extensive and is all local breweries which is great! I went with a Pale Ale from a DE brewery(can’t remember the name, oops!) but it was perfect and just what I needed after a sunny day full of walking. The place is BBQ style reminding me a lot of Famous Dave’s(if you’re familiar with those). I went with the half chicken, which was seasoned to perfection with a tangy/sweet BBQ sauce. Their table is filled with different sauces ranging from sweet to vinegary. Sure to please any palate! I opted for the mixed carrots which you may seem is not that exciting but boyfriend and I were blown away. The boyfriend went with the tomato soup and fancy grilled cheese, which was served on a nice crusty bread. It was gone within two minutes! We didn’t have room for dessert but if we had, we would have tried the«Kitchen Sink Sundae». Go! Don’t be turned off by the fact that it is a «hotel restaurant». Ask for John O. and enjoy it!
