The restaurants had an overwhelming musty smell. It got worse as we were lead to the back of the restaurant. It wasn’t an antique house smell I spend time in first and second period homes. It was the smell of mold somewhere. We couldn’t stay and left.

Went here with party of 6. On a Sunday for lunch. For the first 30 minutes we were the only ones there but it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. Service was very slow and food was sub par. Giving the place one star for the atmosphere. When we arrived it was very chilly in the dining room and asked if something could be done about the heat. The waitress said it was 73 degrees when she came in… But it was probably 65 degrees or less as even some of the men at our table were cold. Which is never the norm. Needless to say due to poor customer service and food that was not great we won’t go back.

Very good Brie cheese wheel! The apples go amazingly with it, I highly suggest it. The waitstaff are very nice and the drinks are delicious!

Slow kitchen even though restaurant was not full. Burgers over cooked. Appetizer served with the meal even though we asked for it to be served before the meal. Clam chowder was fishy and mostly potatoes.

Very disappointed with service. Never received plates with our appetizers. Had to use the plates they were served on to eat the appetizers.

Excellent atmosphere with cozy furnishings. Food was tasty as well. Service was okay, and the waitress was nice. On a lazy Sunday evening there was a band playing which sounded very good. Great place!

Hubby and I had a night cap here. Good drinks and GREAT prices. He got the nachos which was HUGE and he couldn’t even finish them which NEVER happens. I had the lobster sandwich with chips. I am not a fan of bread so I picked out the lobster which was so yummy. Our bartender was awesome and kept us entertained and the locals that were hanging out that night were a lot of fun. We had a really good time.

«Cozy» is a word which comes to mind when I think of the ‘6 House Pub. It’s a very homey atmosphere, with a great room filled with armchairs to dine in and a bar. Your best bets are to get comfort food and pub grub — the wings, burgers, and spinach and artichoke dip are all lovely.

Great service… Saturday night, mid June. Very friendly waitress. Turkey burger was good, interesting pear, chutney topping. Fettuccine Alfredo was surprisingly good, peas and ham added as part of the menu choices. Wasn’t able to finish the huge bowl! House wine and a local tap beer, reasonably priced… Enjoyed this place. Just a it too chilly to sit at the lovely fire pit. As mentioned the parking lot is rough… so be wary of that.

FOOD — Not very good. One person at our table had steak which had been overcooked and my lobster risotto had been soaked in some kind of grain alcohol which had not been cooked off. It was unpalatable to the point that I could not eat it(thank goodness I wasn’t driving! I don’t think I would have passed a breathalyzer after a couple of bites of that awful stuff! Incidentally, I am over 6 years sober and don’t appreciate having anything with viable alcohol content served to me, without warning. It really should’ve been made clear on the menu, I would’ve ordered something else.) To top it off, my desert of fried ice cream was overcooked and hard or possibly freezer-burned. My shrimp cocktail appetizer was very tasty, though. The others at my table all enjoyed their deserts, but we found it to be overall lacking in culinary quality. WAIT — Only a few minutes of waiting for the hostess to seat us, no wait for a table, but it was a long wait for the food, over thirty minutes from the time we ordered. SERVICE — Poor. Our waitress made a lot of mistakes and seemed to have completely forgotten about us as multiple points. Our visit was almost three hours due to all of the waiting. AMBIANCE — Pretty nice. We dined outdoors and enjoyed the fire pit. However, we thought that the large white propane tank sitting right in the dining area was a bit unsightly. OVERALL — There are much better places in the area to eat. I doubt I will return.

We ordered the crab cakes for a starter, sadly the chef didn’t use a thermometer or he would have realized they were still frozen on the inside. The worst part was they sent spoiled scallops out to the table. I became very un lady like and spit one out of my mouth. They were so spoiled my friend backed away from the table until they were removed. We were told the guy in the kitchen was new. I can’t believe he didn’t smell they were bad.

I went to school in the Berkshires so there’s definitely some nostalgia when it comes to ‘6 House Pub. I will say that I’m shocked with all the low reviews. I’ve been back several times as we love to visit the area for long weekends. We always make it a point to visit ‘6 House. This definitely isn’t a fine dining experience but a country pub done right. The wait can be a little bit long, but there’s a beautiful oval bar to have drinks at and a fire pit outside. The biggest negative is the driveway, which can be a bit of a nightmare, especially in the wet season(ladies leave your heels at home). The drinks are always top notch. My personal favorites are the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, crab cake sandwich, and french dip. Every friend I’ve ever brought to ‘6 House gets the chicken parm, which is amazing! We will definitely be back next time we’re visiting the Berkshires.

I went to the ‘6 house with one of my best friends. We went with 4 girls. The company was good. And I have to say that because that is one of the only good parts of the evening. The service was very slow. I wanted another beer but one of the girls said no and gave me half of hers because we would have been there for another 30 minutes. The food was great;however, my beautiful friend was unsatisfied with her portions. The waitress was mean. I’m gonna leave it at that. My guacamole was watery. It’s weird because I was debating with one of the girls to go to a different place, and at the end I was able to say.“told you we should have gone to coyote”

Just stopped in early on New Year’s Eve planning to eat at the bar. The hostess treated us like we were an inconvenience even sitting at the bar area. We sat down and waited 5 minutes without anyone paying attention to us. I thought I’d help them out and got up to ask the bartender for a couple menus. She snapped back that a waitress would be with us and that they were busy… Like it was my fault. After a few more nasty comments overheard between staff and being ignored we left unnoticed. Went to Water Street Grille who welcomed us with open arms and a better menu.

We had the restaurant’s burger & brew special, as well as a fried onions appetizer. The burgers were ok but the onions, which came in a cone display, were rather small and overcooked and came with no special dips. The place is a large restaurant with a separate bar. Dinner service was polite but very slow. The antique items around the restaurant provided some mildly interesting visuals while we waited. There was a fire pit outside, which reminded me of a similar arrangement at the Peekamoose Restaurant in Big Indian, NY in the Catskills. While it looked inviting, we headed back to our resort due to flurries.

The driveway is dirt and bumpy. Not a problem when it doesn’t rain or if you have a good suspension on your vehicle, but not everyone is so lucky. That was the first problem, but it wasn’t the biggest one. The second problem was a waitress who did not place silverware on the table when we sat down. Nor did she do that when our appetizers finally appeared. My friend had to get up and find someone to give us not only silverware, but dishes to eat from. The waitress seemed annoyed at this. She also seemed annoyed when we declined to order more. Since we had limited time to spend we didn’t think they could serve us fast enough. Also since the waitress had messed up the drinks and had to be asked to provide dishes and silverware, we really didn’t think she could handle anything beyond what we had already asked of her. The restaurant was busy but silverware and dishes should be a normal part of service. It was also louder than we had expected and it was hard to hear each other talk. If you’re hoping for good cell service and Wi-Fi access, keep dreaming. Cell service is iffy in that area. No open Wi-Fi for customers. That is just odd in a college town. That said, the wine was good and the chairs were comfortable and inviting. I might go again at a slower time.

The food was tolerable on this gorgeous Vermont summer’s day even though it is next to the noisy Rte.7. The kids meal was great for the asking price of $ 5, my BLT was ok but heavens to murgatroy the service was stuck back IN1876!!! The waiter and waitress have little to no clue about how to handle customers. We waited 20 – 25 minutes to get our food and they I had to walk up to the waiter to get the check and ask for the change. Urg…

Ehhhh If your ultimate dining experience includes mediocre food, incompetent and unreliable servers, and inflated prices then I couldn’t make a better case for The ‘6 House Pub being a perfect location.
