I’ll get right to it: bed bugs. Besides the awful turnover service(left us without any towels for hours, made the bed a single time in 4 days), way over-chlorinated pool and sad breakfast offerings even by budget hotel standards, the bugs ruined our trip. Once we finally found out about the infestation, we took photos and checked all of our clothes and luggage before dropping the keys at the front. Because we booked through Orbitz, the guy at the front desk just shrugged and told us to call them. The call to Orbitz went as expected, with them offering a weak token refund of 2 nights(out of 5). The hotel manager claimed he called an exterminator, who miraculously didn’t see any bed bugs! Imagine that. Our offer to Orbitz’s useless customer service of photo evidence was met with complete indifference. Nice to see one corporate entity looking out for another. Both Orbitz and Econolodge won’t see any more business from us or anyone else we can warn.
