A Tasting Room

A Tasting Room was a perfect surprise. Anthony showed us around the sales room and and was amazingly helpful with tastings and bottle purchases. The selection was great! We chose a bottle of Selback Riesling and Poire Authentique Cider.

Great little spot to grab a bottle of unique and affordable wine. The place always feels welcoming due to the helpful, nice owners and staff. If you’re there when wine cocktails are being served don’t miss out– they’re great and made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care by Anthony, one of the owners.

Any place that has great wines, with owners who know about those wines, and is animal-​friendly to boot, is just about perfect.

Wilmington has a lot of Wine shops however A Tasting Room really sets it self a part from possible competitors with the quality of wine, unique venue and impeccable customer service.
I first heard about this business through word of mouth and after seeing it first hand I approached the owners about having the Unilocal Wilmington launch party at the Tasting room. They said yes and the event was a huge success.
I have been back several times since. My favorite aspects of A Tasting room are that they welcome dogs, display local artists, it’s small and cozy, great enclosed back patio and the owners are amazing. Read the reviews this business is one of the best local wine shops in town!

This is a cute shop located in downtown Wilmington. I have been to the Friday night wine tasting and was impressed with the unique wines offered. Local art is displayed in the store. A Tasting Room also has a nice outdoor area. They often feature live entertainment. Because the space is small, sometimes the music is a bit loud, but all in all, it adds to the ambiance.
The tasting typically offers five to six wines. You can opt for a glass or a bottle of your favorite with a discount. I have noticed that when the owners pour the wine samples, they are very generous. There was a woman pouring the last time that I was there, and her pours were about the size of a tablespoon. Because they do offer the wine tasting nearly all day and evening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the shop may have been running short on supplies that night.
This is a fun place to meet friends and try something new.

I was recommended to this wine shop by a nearby restaurant while traveling on vacation. It was a quick trip and I asked for a suggestion on wine for a specific meal. The staff was excellent, extremely courteous, and very helpful. The wine they suggested was perfect for what I needed. I have never gotten better wine advice.
Further when I was trying to get my local wine store to order more of that wine, they couldn’t find a distributor. I called A Tasting Room and asked for help and again they were very nice and helpful even though they were helping me get my wine elsewhere. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to them or recommend this store to anyone! Fantastic experience and fantastic service!

Great little spot in the downtown area. Michael has a terrific selection of wine and a talent for choosing affordable, tasty bottles of wine for his weekly tastings, which are held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays until 10pm. He will special order anything that you need. There is a relaxing courtyard area out back and local musicians are scheduled to play a couple of evenings a week. This is a great place to stop in with friends to hang out for a while and a fun place to make new friends. Check it out the next time you’re in downtown Wilmington.

Last nights Wilmington Unilocal launch party was a perfect night. Good wines to try. Fantastic music and the place is a gem.

A neighborhood treasure, we are always warmly received there and consistently pleased and surprised by the extraordinary and affordable boutique wines Michael & Anthony offer. Don’t miss the house tastings on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays when you can discover diverse and remarkable wines from around the world. The stone cellar-​feel to the bar provides a cool vibe, with three rooms offering different places to hang out and enjoy your purchased bottle or glass of wine. The lovely, landscaped back patio has seating and quite often a talented musician for your entertainment. The great wine and cordial, highly knowledgeable management team combine with a warm mix and mingle scene to make this intimate historic space a not-​to-​be-​missed downtown experience.

This was a great discovery when wandering around downtown last weekend. The space is adorable, wines by the glass are $ 5, there is a free tasting almost all nights of the week, and the outdoor space/​courtyard was so charming. We were lucky enough to catch the live music, something they may do often? Highly recommend!

What a fabulous and fun addition to downtown! I love this place. They have great weekly wine and beer tastings, and an awesome little courtyard in the back. The wines are great, with all price ranges. Fun place to go!

A Tasting Room is THE PLACE to buy wine in Wilmington. Michael & Anthony’s knowledge of wine is unparalleled. Their frequent tastings are always great fun and you always learn about some new and enjoyable wines. The location is incredibly cool with a downtown/​local flair. I really couldn’t recommend them more! Check out A Tasting Room and you will not be disappointed.
