I’ve only been here once but I fell in love with this place! Place is really clean and comfortable. Waitress was very fast and friendly. I ordered the country breakfast with over easy eggs and hash browns. It was soooo tasty! They have so much to offer in their menu that it took me forever just to decide. Eggs were perfect, hash browns were really good as well. I sure will be coming back to this place just to try more of their tasty food.

Just cant say enough. I am a contractor who travels everywhere and lives on a great breakfast. Starting up a new job in the area and stopped by. Excellent breakfast, eggs cooked perfectly, salsa was fresh and spicy. I will bring the whole crew because I know a happy crew is a productive crew.

This place is great. The default, go-to, fallback location for breakfast when everyone’s either too crowded or there’s no time to drive downtown. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The waitresses are quick, energetic and pleasent every time. A good spread of options with all your standard plates and a few interesting others. Good coffee, always quick. A quality breakfast joint. This is my new favorite place to eat breakfast. The place is really warm & cozy, servers are nice and food is yummy. It is a bit pricey though. Our Family of 4 got regular breakfast meals(french toast, pancakes, omelette & Country Fried Steak) and the total came out to $ 70

A great place to grab breakfast or lunch. The staff here are excellent and the food is awesome. Great homestyle cooking. Many lunches have been had here. I’ve almost had everything on the menu.

I love this place. I don’t go often, but they have very attentive service, and I highly recommend the corned-beef hash. So many places try to make it, this place succeeds!

Nice little spot with a lot of history. Chilie verde omlette was bomb!!! Tender meat and delicious green chillies over top a perfect 3 egg omlette. Went authentic and grabbed a side of beans and rice with 3 corn tortillas. Would def go back and have the same thing.

Yummy!!! The food is very delicious. The portions are the perfect size to fill you up without that over doing it feeling. Loved that my daughters chicken strips and fries were not greasy at all. The place a big open clean restaurant. Waitresses are super nice and friendly. Great place for breakfast/brunch.

A little tucked away gem that left me feeling happy. I loved the atmosphere, and style of the restaurant once I walked in. The place is clean and the Waitress that served us was fast and friendly and constantly checked on us which is very much appreciated. The coffee was great and breakfast was on point. I ordered the country boy and from the gravy down to the biscuits and over to the home fries and fluffy eggs, every bite was pleasantly delicious. The fresh pico de gallo and red salsa they place on the middle of the table was a lovely touch that I enjoyed as well.

What can I say? I’ve never had a bad meal at Rudy’s. The servers and busboys are very nice and always attentive, the food is always hot and fresh, the owner knows the names of all the regulars… there’s a reason that Rudy’s is always busy: phenomenal people serving up phenomenal food. My personal favorites are the LAPD sandwich(ham, fresh-roasted turkey, avocado, cheese on grilled sourdough) and the ILWU(chicken, green chile, avocado, cheese on a French roll); ask for the salsa tray and put it in the sandwich, and it’s practically heaven on a plate. If you can’t already tell, they’re big supporters of the unions and workers in the community(and those groups are, in turn, big fans of Rudy’s). Their breakfasts are outstanding too. Omelettes cooked the way you request(from the French-style very soft to the more traditional American-style which is browned a bit). Your glass will always be full, and at the end of the meal, you’ll also leave full(huge portions!!) and happy. Prices are exceptionally good because of the quality and portion size. By the way, order the turkey soup on Thursdays… best turkey soup around! I come to Rudy’s twice a week, at least, with family and friends. Rudy’s is always my first choice when I want to eat delicious food in a friendly environment. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on enjoying the best breakfast spot that Los Angeles has to offer.

One of the best country style diner in So Cal. The Chicken Fried Steak with a gigantic Buttermilk Biscuit is hard to match up to!

I tried this restaurant recently. i Ordered one of the breakfast specials. I found the service real average I never got water after asking twice for one example. Coffee was not that great. The place was not real busy. I waited a while for my food the eggs I left mostly untouched they were just terrible. My experience was not great not good enough to come back that’s for sure. Prices were high for the food quality and coffee should be top notch it just was not.

Ate from here today for the first time & I do have to say the food for the most part was pretty good. I called in my order & my bf picked it up. I ordered the marinated steak special & a strawberry lemonade. Total came to about $ 22 but I did add several things like cheese & spinach to my eggs & gravy to my biscuit. Food was plentiful & I had a lot of leftovers. Lady who took my phone order was very sweet & food was also made very fast. Good was very delicious. I was surprised at how much flavor the grilled marinated steak had! I didn’t even need A1 sauce which is a plus in my book! Very delicious! The biscuit & gravy was very delicious too! So the reasons I gave only 4 stars were for starters when my bf brought me the food my country fried potatoes were missing. Granted my bf could’ve checked before he left but he didn’t know exactly what I ordered. & potatoes comes with the meal so there’s no reason for it to be missing. He was able to go back & pick it up quickly but thank God we only live 5 mins away or it would have been a hassle. Also when I did get the potatoes they weren’t even really fried. More like lightly sautéed & wasn’t how I expected the texture of «country fried» potatoes to be. Next time I will stick with the hash browns. Also I asked for my eggs to be scrambled with cheese & spinach. The spinach was cooked but wasn’t mixed in with the eggs. Just a big serving to the side. Not much of a big deal but not what I expected. Overall I will be back for breakfast. Hopefully next time I can sit inside & eat & get the full experience. Will update my review since I know more so of how to order. I want to try the pancakes or waffles next time too.

This diner /coffee shop is only open for breakfast and lunch, and they do serve breakfast all day. Overall, the portions are very large, and the food is tasty. And great service from the waitress and busser. Country Fried Steak and Eggs, $ 11.95 Overall, a large and tasty plate of food. The steak was just a little chewy, but easy to cut into bite size pieces, and it wasn’t really an issue. It had a nice coating, and was smothered in cream gravy. The country gravy was rich and creamy — not peppery, not sausagey, but just thick and rich. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, like they should be. We got scrambled eggs, and they were cooked just fine. Country Breakfast, $ 8.00 I really wanted to try the biscuits, and thought this was the perfect thing! It’s two biscuit halves topped with a sausage patty each, then covered in their country gravy. The biscuits were tender, flakey, and very good. The sausage was tender, not particularly spicy or super flavorful, but went really well with the biscuits and rich creamy gravy. It comes with 2 eggs, and I got them over-medium, and they were cooked really well. And the home fries — all of the potatoes were cooked! From the small pieces to the large chunks, all of the potatoes were cooked — I really hate crunchy raw potatoes. There were bits of onion and green bell pepper which you could only really taste if you actually ate one of them.

Excellent customer service and delicious food make supporting this local business a pleasure. Have been going here for a few years now and the staff treat us like family. Our favorite local diner with lots of charm and a variety of American and Mexican options. Surprisingly spacious on the inside, with lots of booths and tables. Lots of parking available outside. Favorites: My wife usually gets the chilaquiles. I usually get the John Wayne.

I must say for the large crowd we had today Rudy’s did an outstanding job(over 25 people). The Chili Verde Omelet was large and excellent. When you are in the area give this place a try. It is about two miles off the 710 freeway but it worth going out of our your way for it.

Love this local breakfast spot. Every time I come here I get the best service and the food is always yummy. One of my favorites is the Chile Verde Omelet and this last time I was there I tried the pumpkin pancakes they were really delicious. Another one of my favorites here is the country fried steak. They close early but it is a great breakfast spot.

First of all the customer service is outstanding. Stopped if for breakfast and got the chili verde omelette. OMG! It is spicy but just the perfect amount of pep. The home fries were cooked all the way through and golden brown in color. The biscuits and gravy were sooooo good, they had me thinking of my late grandmother. I miss you Nana. I don’t live anywhere near this place but I would drive or find a reason to be back in Wilmington to order the exact same meal. Two thumbs way up
