I’ve been back to this store for repairs and upkeep. Customer service at these times were OK. There is one woman there who provides excellent customer service and has been there since my last post in 2012. There is a new male attendant who was assigned to help me about two months ago when I went to get my glasses tightened, and he too had the rushed and annoyed attitude. He then had me sit and wait for another attendant as he went back to help someone else. I get when a store gets busy and short handed, but I don’t get a salesperson who passes their disdain to the unsuspecting customer who just was told by the lady at the front desk to «sit there and wait for a representative». He was rude to me, then turned back to his original customers and poured on the charm! There simply must be something about management, the hiring or training that it is seriously lacking screening or training for excellent customer service skills. I did happen to go back for an exam(had no issue with the eye doc) early this year. My prescription changed a bit, but my budget led me to put off buying new glasses. Until my sunglasses met their demise last month. I went back to Eye Care because it is close and convenient and does have a good selection. I was lucky enough to have been helped this time by the woman who does have good customer service skills. She helped me and treated me with courtesy and very professionally. She made the process of choosing easy and painless. I will have to update this with her name at some point. My guess — 50 something, short spiky frosted hair, stylish… When I picked up the glasses, I was assigned to the manager. She came over to my at the seating area, smiled and sat down but never introduced herself. I did look at her tag — can’t remember her name, but was surprised she was a manager and didn’t even introduce herself. She also had a slight attitude when I requested adjustments. She dutifully took them for the adjustments and said all the right things, but the look in her eye and the slight sigh of discomfort spoke just as loud. I did get them adjusted how I wanted. She also attempted to help with adjusting my regular glasses I’d bought there previously. I was disappointed to hear they were bent beyond repair«from taking them off with one hand». She offered to find out what the cost of a new leg would be. I figured I could fix them with pliers…

They do a great job, from setting up appoints with text and email reminders, to the organized smiley front desk staff. For the last three years my annual visits have taken less than 30 minutes. The eye glass sales staff are not pushy and know the features that you are paying for. Highly recommended!

My family and I were at the beach, and my 16-year-old daughter Nell lost her glasses in the ocean. Eye Care Associates her prescription for contact lenses in stock, and by the time I arrived to buy them, they were waiting for me at the counter, awaiting only a fax confirmation of the prescription from our optometrist in California. I expected to have to buy a box of six lenses for each eye, but they had individual lenses ready to go, and at no charge. I was in and out in five minutes. The staff of the store had no incentive to help us at all, but their kindness and generosity saved the vacation for Nell. They’re great people.

So here we go again with the disappointment !!! My husband has been waiting for a call from this place for a whole month. He went there to ask about a scratch on his glasses(he didn’t remember if he had asked or gotten scratch resistant lenses) THEY offered him a new lens. No call YET !! Hmmm!!! Is it just us??? NO! I don’t think so. I’ve spoken to so many people in the area and all have negative comments, experiences with this establishment. If you offer something, that we didn’t ask for you should deliver… I’ve also called the lab they send there frames to be processed in Va. And was told that this particular office is known for failure at properly handling orders.

This is my second time going to Dr. Jackson(first time for glasses) I recently have had several sties, Dr. Jackson has been gentle, professional, thorough and has a great disposition! I think he is awesome, and am surprised to hear negative things. As long as I need eye care, Eye Care Associates is where I will continue to go!

Terrible. Dr Brian Jackson and his staff were completely rude and inconsiderate. I was a first time contact wearer and he laughed because I did not know how to put them on. His staff was unhelpful and favored select guests in the office. They even had a rude tone on the phone and hung up on me after I called to ask a question about the contacts. I never have or will go back there. There are too many Eye Drs in Wilmington to put up with their bad attitudes.

After my wonderful experience, I was surprised to read the negative reviews here! I found ECA to be incredibly accommodating, they were even able to get me an appt in less than a day. The staff, including Dr. Jackson, was also very friendly. After having such a negative experience at my previous eye doctor, I’m so glad Eye Care Associates was recommended to me!
