Slice of Life

Good pizza, good nachos, good tacos. Had a great time there for dinner sitting on the patio. Will definitely stop again next time we head to the beach!

I don’t know WHY I like it so much…
The crust is like thin cardboard…
There is NO sauce on the pizza
And the tiny amount of cheese they put on it does not melt it is like plastic!
I just enjoy the atmosphere and people.
PS the Wings are shut the hell up good!!!

Pizza dough had the consistency of card board tonight. First time I ever had that problem. Will give SOL another chance.

Good food but bad service. Ordered to go pizzas. Came 30 minutes later. I Was told that the food wasn’t ready. No problem. 15 minutes later I see 2 pizzas come to the window. I ask if they are for me. The server rudely tells me no. 30 minutes later I ask her if my food was ready and she gives me the 2 same pizzas I asked about earlier. Just because we aren’t at your table, still treat us like customers.

We sat at the bar, the service was prompt and friendly. They had a nice beer selection and the bartenders were knowledgeable and able to tell me about different options. The salads were very fresh and delicious (huge portions and super crunchy lettuce) with dressing served on the side. Pizza by the slice was big and tasty. Plenty of TV s with all the important (and not so important) games being shown.

Very good pizza, service was ok, but it was very noisy due to the bar patrons. There were 4 of us and we had to speak very loudly to hear each other at our table. If the noise wasn’t a problem this would be a great place to eat. Next time I’ll order a pizza to go.

My family came into this location the other day to eat. we haven’t been in months. The service was ok, the food was hot, but the pizza wasn’t as good as we remember. I don’t know if they changed something but if they did they need to change it back. We probably won’t be back. if so not for a while and we will try again… there are better pizza places in town. Not sure if it’s just this location or what. I know the one in the mall is bad and thought the others were way better. We were disappointed.

There aren’t many places you can go at 2 am and get some great food. This is one of those few places.

This is my favorite pizza in Wilmington. If not for its pricey nature and exorbitant additional cost per each topping, I would rate it 5 stars. A large pizza with just one topping will cost you $ 20, and that is just unreasonable.

I love places where you can get pizza by the slice, and I was on the hunt for a good wilmington pizza place.
Slice of life is not it. You pay almost $ 5.00 for ONE piece of pizza with 3 toppings. That is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion, especially since the pizza is nothing special. The seem to just haphazardly slop some toppings on… it just seems quick and thoughtless.
One 5 star review says «leaves dominos and pizza hut in the dust.» Well. I guess there’s that…
Back home in Charlotte, my favorite pizza place (Brooklyn Pizza if you’re ever in town), sells pizza for about $ 2 a slice, including toppings, and the pizza is better.
I really wanted to like it, especially since it is open late, but sadly, it’s just not worth it.

As a visitor to Wilmington, Slice of Life actually made me love Wilmington even more. Great gluten free and vegan options. So automatic winner for me! Great prices for such a huge quantity and quality. I can’t wait to visit Wilmington. Will definitely stop back by Slice of Life. Pretty cool pizza joint!

Pretty good pizza and a sizable portion for the price. If ever I am in Lumina and the hankering for pizza arises, Slice of Life more than fits the bill.

The pizza is really good here. I would eat it again. The service, on the other hand, needs major improvement. We walked in, not knowing if you seat yourself or what, and had to interrupt the waitresses intense conversation to ask if we sat ourselves. One hollered over to me and then continued her enthralling conversation. We sat for about 5 minutes without a single passing look from the staff. A waitress came over to get our drink order, and then went back to the bar to chat before putting in our drinks. We had to stop a waitress to get our check after waiting for someone to notice we were done.
I’m not normally hard in waitresses/​waiters/​bar tenders, but I felt that if you weren’t a regular, you were likely to be ignored. And looked at like you were interrupting them. Get your pizza to go.

I tried the Gluten Free pizza for the first time today. It was hands down the best GF pizza I’ve had ever! I’ve been GF for about 4 years now and I would recommend this pizza to anyone who’s gluten sensitive or intolerant. It cones in a 10″ size and I believe it’s available at all location :)

Really good pizza and wings. Service is friendly and food arrives quickly. Nice local spot with good food.

The pizza is always great at SOL but today I saw the waitress take a customer’s cup to refill it, dump the contents, then scoop ice out of the bin with the dirty cup. Ew.

We had a sweet waitress who was very attentive. Sat out on the patio. My husband and I got the white pizza and it was delicious. It was nice to be able to just order my kids a slice of cheese each. They devoured it. Also the pizza is easy to eat because it’s crispy on the bottom and not flimsy. Can’t wait to go again!

You can do no wrong with the Slice! Quality food and service! Start with the nachos and finish with some pizza! With the nachos, tell them you need the mountain high: You will not be disappointed! No wrong at the slice, it’s more than just food, it’s life!

This place is my jam right now. When you have an extended stay in a foreign city, it’s important to find a hang-​out spot, somewhere you feel comfortable chilling out by yourself. This Slice of Life has become that place for me.
It’s a wonderful little bar/​pizzeria. They have about a gazillion TVs inside, so you can usually watch one of them for entertainment.
The bar. Fully stocked. And the bartenders are always friendly and pour extremely well.
The pizza. Holy damn, the pizza. It’s the dough that keeps me coming back. I don’t know if it’s because they make it with filtered water, but the dough just tastes more fresh than pizza dough at most places. The slices are nicely priced, so I usually try different combinations of toppings, although I usually come back to my normal pepperonis and black olives.
My score for this particular Slice of Life (I believe there are two in Wilmington) is between a 4 and a 5. And that’s only because I have had better pizza. My 5s are reserved for my favorite pizzas ever, and no thin crust pizza will ever hold that title.
But seriously, if you haven’t, check this place out.

Slice of Life is located in the same spot of a bar where I worked back when I was in undergrad here. I had made frequent visits to their downtown location while I was in school.
My partner and I made a stop here after being at the beach all morning for some slices to go. I love that you can order whatever toppings on a slice. We did not have to wait long and were provided drinks and a seat while we waited.
I was impressed with the quality of the staff as well as the fresh ingredients on the pizza. Using fresh jalapenos was the best part!
I would highly recommend this place for some quality, casual dining with great food. Great location as well!
