I have been going to Illuminations since it opened in July of 2015. Carline Dean, the owner is phenomenal hair stylist whose skills are on par with the best in NYC. I got tired of taking the trek into the city and I haven’t been disappointed. Carline has a great eye and has taken both my hair style and my hair color to a new level.
Carline is perfectionist as a colorist and has consistently colored it with a glossy, lovely finish. I have given her carte blanche on all things related to my hair. Carline’s associate Patrick is charming and a highly experienced stylist.
On the first floor below Illuminations Hair Salon is Carline’s other venture, Lace Affaire. It is a fanciful store full of lovely sleepwear and beautiful shapewear. Carline and her associate Tracy are experienced bra fitters and they carry a wide variety of reasonably priced undergarments.
Stop by Illuminations Salon and Lace Affaire. It’s worth the visit.

I am extremely disappointed in my hair after getting it done here. I asked to keep the length and my hair was chopped off, I can’t stand looking at myself and I’ve never felt this way before. I know hair grows back but I am absolutely miserable. My family and friends are trying to be nice about it but it’s not genuine. I’m constantly hearing people tell me how they liked me better with long hair which only makes me more miserable about it. I can only hope that in a year my hair will grow back to where I wanted it to be originally.
