This is one of my must visit restaurants when I am in town visiting my sister. The first time we went the service was reeeeeally slow and kind of bad. The food was so good we gave it another try on my next visit and it was much improved. Same for the one after that. I always get a pizza and am never disappointed. The alcoholic drinks are OK. I would probably go with wine instead.

Stopped by Winchester for the first time today and I’m very impressed. The menu was very modern with some great twists on classic foods. We showed up on a Saturday night, the restaurant was packed. We were seated quickly and we’re taken care of respectully. We ordered the crab nachos, AMAZING! The service was a really slow(they were down a waiter and there was a party of 20+ sitting next to us) I was very happy with the food especially the sweet potato fries. The staff realized that the service was very slow and comped us a small dessert. There is nothing better than a service that realizes it’s mistakes. Hats off the this restaurant and it’s owners, they could easily expand nationwide!

This place is a rare treasure in a town full of pre-made frozen, then fried crap food! Everything is made fresh right there in the kitchen. Their specials are delicious(OMG the Spiced Meatballs!!), the drinks are superb and the service is stellar! From Dave, the owner/partner and Misty the purple-haired badass, sweetheart of a manager/bartender to all the servers — wonderful people! You can feel comfortable going in alone and eating right there at the bar — nobody is a stranger to them. I can honestly say I have never ordered anything that I didn’t absolutely love! The Pesto Chicken panini, the crab nachos(not tortilla chips — homemade thick cut potato chips!), the pizzas, the salads, the soups… perfection. My only suggestion would be for them to do more marketing! This place is a gold mine, and people who overlook it need to make a point to stop in and try it for lunch or dinner — they also have Paint Nites there on occasion, which is a BLAST! Note: Do yourself a favor, and order a mojito. Best one around.

So, the wife and I stopped in here on a whim. We just happen to be in the area and thought we’d check it out. The atmosphere was comfortable but we couldn’t figure out if this place was trying to be a classy upscale restaurant or a sports bar. The food echoes our same thoughts on the atmosphere. It was trying to be upscale but just ended up being like a sports bar. If you go for lunch, as we did, do not be suckered in by the $ 9.99 sandwich, soup and side. It’s a small special menu and you would be better served(money and portion wise) just ordering from the larger menu. With limited choices, and an up charge for substituted items(fries? Really?) the special menu was not so special. By the way, my soup was barely lukewarm but still edible. We will probably not go here again but it wasn’t terrible for a one time.

Good was pretty good wasn’t feeling good so I had the tomato basil soup it was actually pretty good it would have been even better if they would offer a grilled cheese to go with the soup.

Went with a group of coworkers and had a great experience. Misty was an excellent server– friendly and attentive. I ordered the Cabo Sandwich with the chips. I loved it! I’ll certainly be back.

Three of us went for dinner. Service was great all the way through. One of us has soy allergy. She had done her homework and phoned the restaurant to find which Italian dish on their menu could be made without soy. She also made the waitress aware of the soy allergy. Friend’s dish came with bread and when the waitress brought it out she advised that the kitchen had used olive oil on her bread rather than butter because their butter contains soy. Cool. Soy free Oil and vinegar were also available for salad dressing. The kitchen was very accommodating. Now on to our pizza. We ordered the Arrabiata which we’ve had numerous times before. We’ve enjoyed the thin and crispy crust and the spicy sauce. But not this time. The crust was thin, but definitely not crispy and their was no heat to the pizza at all; in fact, it had little flavor, despite the advertised ingredients. So 5 stars for accommodating our friend’s health issues and for the service, but a 1 star on the pizza.

I have lived in the Winchester area all my life; and I have never tried this place until the other day… Needless to say, I was missing out! The building will give you a sense that this place costs a fortune, but a menu at my place of employment proved me other wise so I decided to stop in with my husband for dinner. A co worker had told me about the cheesesteak, so that’s what I ordered. It was delicious! Ciabatta bread with lots of cheese, peppers, onions and mayo… This cheese steak was probably one of the best ones I’ve had and definitely beats other pizzerias in this town. My husband is a huge pizza lover, so he ordered a cheese pizza. He loved it. I tried the crust and was in love! I can’t wait to stop in and try more of this food. We went on a Monday, and the service really lacked though. We were 1 of 3 customers dining, and our waitress had to be asked for a refill. My husband looked over and she was at the booth on her phone. That was disappointing but the food made up for it! Also, I recommend fixing the first bathroom door in the ladies restroom, it got jammed and was very hard to get out of the bathroom door. Stop by Café Del Sol, and you won’t be disappointed with their food!

I went here for the first time with a group of friends. I enjoyed the soup and sandwich combo; very delicious. I would love to come here more often to try other dishes but it can be a little pricy for someone like me who is on a budget. The staff is friendly and an overall warm atmosphere. Yum!

Built my own pizza; pepperoni, green peppers and mushrooms. Pizza was OK but not great. Acoustics in restaurant very poor, our party had a hard time hearing each other talk. Red rock soup was really good.

Very impressed with this place! Every time I eat here the food is delicious, good sized portions, and service is excellent. Today I had the lunch combo with half a Cuban panini, a small salad, and chicken chili for only $ 10.00! I couldn’t eat it all and asked for a to-go cup for the chili, and our server actually put more chili in the container for me so it would be like a full portion later on. Such a small gesture that made me really happy! They have a good beer selection too. One thing I noticed today that really made me go «wow» was the bathrooms… in the ladies room, there is a small basket with q-tips, tampons, hair spray, lotion, and body spray. That is so thoughtful of them! I have never been to another restaurant in winchester that offers this. Definitely check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

Food looked ok. Place was too dark. Disappointed by the actual food other than presentation. I’ve never had a quesadilla that had onions, peppers, etc… I just didn’t enjoy it. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Dinner was delish! We started with the crab nachos which I HIGHLY recommend! The portion was huge and we could’ve just skipped our meals. The chips are homemade and the flavor was on point. For an entrée I had the yummy fish tacos and my date had the mini burgers. Both were very good and I would order both again. The atmosphere was great and the best part… there was no wait! Not too shabby for a weekend!

Pizza is probably one of everyone’s favorite food, myself included, and so I’m always interested in trying new pizza places. Café del Sol is definitely one of the better pizza options in Winchester. The toppings and specialty pizzas offer a wide variety to choose from. «California pizzeria» is one of those phrases that gets used whenever a restaurant has non-traditional toppings, and the offerings at Café del Sol certainly fit the bill with items like a tostada pizza and a chipotle pesto pizza too. The ambiance and lighting is darker than normal, but still pleasant enough to enjoy the meal. They also have a limited delivery menu, but we haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

I’ve never eaten in the restaurant, only had takeout, so I’m going with those experiences. Pros: They deliver, and there is no minimum charge. The food is basically a poor man’s California Pizza Kitchen but with less pizzazz. Their appetizers are good and so are their pizza, but everything else is strictly average. Also, the portions are nice sized and you definitely feel full. The crab nachos are definitely a can’t miss. They are loaded with flavor and you could definitely make a meal out of just those. When I order again, I might just get that as a meal and leave it at that. Plus, the guys who take your order are very nice and are patient. The food also arrived in good time. Cons: The broccoli tastes very raw, and their pasta dishes are not very good. I one threw away an entire pasta dish because the pasta was well overcooked and the was way too saucy. You have to watch what you eat there and definitely have yourself a water while you’re eating. The food is extremely pepper-y and I ran through 1 liter of water just finishing a personal pan. But at least its very tasty. Overall it gets the 3 out of 5 based on that the pizza is great and so is the service, but I would just get the pizza and appetizers and nothing more. Plus, it strives to do more than it should and that’s why some of the menu items are very hit or miss. It has a slight recommendation in my book, but as I mentioned, stick with the pizza.
