Had dinner there on 11 March. We had originally planned on going to our regular Friday night spot in Windham but after several less than stellar outcomes, we decided to come to Messina’s. I had been here once before for pizaa and it was very good so I figured we would do pasta this time. I am very pleased that we switched up our usual Friday night ritual. I had the Orrechiette alla Barese with sausage and extra garlic and it was superb. Just a nice kick with the peppers and extra garlic. My son and a friend each had it but with chicken. There was nothing left on any of the three plates. The portions were perfect. Others had spaghetti and meat balls and my wife had pork parm. Overall and excellent meal, good service and we were treated as welcomed guests. We will return.

This place is so good. After snow tubbing for my best friend’s birthday we all decided to come here for dinner. The staff was so friendly and kind. I’m not sure if he was the owner but our waiter was really funny and polite. The food was so delicious! I ordered the Angus steak and it was so soft and savory I loved it! Definitely give this place a try if you are craving for awesome Italian food and great service! I hope to return one day!

This place is awesome. We have come here a couple of times, years apart, and experienced the same deliciousness each visit. We have ordered items across the menu and nothing disappoints!

30mins for salads, 46mins dinner with max 20 people here on a friday. The staff was polite but, why so slow for food? The food was good(3⁄5) and for a friday night with so little people that has to say something.

Better than average Italian joint. The food here really surprised me(in a good way). The baked clam appetizer was outstanding. A delicious seafood blend topped the clam. The lobster bisque was also outstanding. Tasty lumps of lobster in a delectable cream sauce. For entrée I got the special which was a beef osso buco with risotto and mixed veggies. Tasty but not as good as the previous courses. Would opt for something different next time. Décor is plain and simple. Not upscale, but a nice working class place. Speaking of working class… the service was great. Rick was a one man show, working very hard for the money. He seated guests, bussed tables and served food. Very personable as well. Highly recommend.

My family went here recently and we were very happy with the service and the food. The Classico chicken was very good. They are very accommodating to children. They have a nice children’s menu with a lot of choices which made the dining experience easier. The wine list has fair pricing. Our waitress/hostess Eileen was excellent and attentive. Her co worker was also a nice guy. We will definitely be back when in Windham!

I love this place! It’s authentic Italian, and fresh as can be! I found it one late night looking for anywhere that was still serving after 9pm in Windham, and the bartender turned to a person seated at the end of the bar(I now know to be the owner and chef) and asked if the kitchen was still open. He hopped up and happily offered to cook whatever we’d want. I ordered the scallop special and it was simply delicious! My husband’s pasta dish was equally as good and we have returned several times since, for the same wonderful experience. Warm, friendly, and delicious food… what more can you ask for?

I was very angry tonight after coming to Messinas. My family live in town and have eaten here a few times but tonight we came in sat down at a table in the bar area. There were 3 people sitting at the bar, the 3rd left soon after we got there. We sit down and the bartender never comes to our table she asks my husband while standing behind the bar if we want menues. So we say yes and she holds them out, my husband gets up and walks over to grab them and brings them back. I didn’t think much about it at first but then after a while she asks what we want to drink(from behind the bar) we tell her and she sets them on the bar. At this point I’m thinking my husband and I have been here before, she’s waited on us before, we have always been kind, always tipped 25 – 30 percent. What’s going on here? So my husband goes to get all four drinks. Granted the bar is close to our table. We wait for her to ask our order but she is so into the conversation she is having at the bar that we decide jeez if she has no interest on waiting on us maybe we should finish our drinks and leave. Instead of leaving we went and sat in the dining room. The young man in the dining room was wonderful and attentive. But still so angry at the girl I couldn’t enjoy my meal which was actually very good. It had just soured my mood. Two people at the bar and she couldn’t stop here conversation long enough to come around the bar to our table and give us a proper experience. My husband and I work in the industry too, so the last thing we want to do when we go out is run our own stuff. I even made the comment to my husband, when our food is done will she expect you to get that from the kitchen too? I’m torn on giving them a bad review or a decent one. I want to give the waiter a great review and give the bartender a bad one but since I can’t do that and know that in that situation a lot of people would just leave I’ll give a bad one.

Yesterday was the 3rd time I’ve ordered a pizza from this place. It was sooooo good! We are ordering from them again tonight! Hopefully it will be just as good. I only order from here when I am in the area visiting my in laws. I love it! As of today, Friday 4⁄24 I’ve eaten pizza for dinner the last 4 nights! Tonight, 4/24, will be my 4th night of having pizza for dinner! I LOVE pizza! This place is very good and reasonably priced. The staff is nice and friendly. My spouse who is from the same town said he wanted to eat there one night instead of getting take out as when he was inside last night he said it smelt so good and the food he saw looked great! KEEPUPTHEGOODWORK!!! IMO, both visitors and locals should all try this place as its so good!!! It’s 4:40. pm and we just called in our take out order for tonight which we will be enjoying wile we watch the«THEBRUCEJENNERINTERVIEW«!!!

Spectacular food. The food, staff, and inside are a lot nicer than the outside of the building gives them credit for. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone staying in Windham. We finished everything on our plates. Great for kids and adults alike.

I have only ever had the pizza here so that’s all I can rate. I can’t complain, I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my life, like any norther eastern boy and I have had far worse! Only one size pizza is available, which makes me think they consider themselves more a restaurant than pizza joint. Messina’s has a nice little bar and I always see people in there watching TV and eating, they also have a dinning room(still pretty casual). The entrees do look and smell good when I’ve been in to pick up pies and maybe one day I’ll order one so I can give a more well rounded review. I’m not sure about the re-branding with the«La Griglia» if this is new ownership or just a rehab, the pizza doesn’t seem to have changed.

Messina’s is a hidden gem in the shadows of Windham Mountain. Prior to our first trip up to Windham Mountain, a co-worker(and seasoned skier) told me about Messina’s. He told me to go there for dinner. He said, «It’s where the locals eat.» It’s one of the best recommendations I’ve received for a restaurant. My husband and I have probably dined here 4 or 5 times over the last several years. I would go more often, but it’s about a 2.5 hour drive from Northern NJ. On every visit, it’s always been on a Thursday night. And, for that, I am thankful. And why do I love going on Thursday nights, you ask? Because Thursday night is Parmigiana Night! And I’m a big sucker for a good Chicken Parmigiana. So what does Parmigiana Night consist of? A choice of a house or Caesar salad, Bread & Butter, the Parmigiana of your choice and pasta. It’s a phenomenal deal, and a whole lot of food. The chicken is delicious and cooked perfectly. There is a good chicken to sauce to cheese ratio. My husband decided to try the Meatball Parmigiana on our most recent visit. He really enjoyed it. I tasted his. It was good, but I prefer chicken parm any day. The restaurant is divided into two parts, the bar and then the actual dining area. The bartenders are always friendly and they have a couple TV’s in the bar area. They usually have Yuengling on tap, but the tap kicked just before we got there and they didn’t have a spare keg. I was more than a bit disappointed, but I stole a few sips of the hubby’s beer(Warsteiner). The restaurant has a lodge-y mountain feel to it. It’s homey and I like it. I love Messina’s. I just wish it was a little bit closer to home.

This is the first restaurant I’ve been to in the Catskills, the interior of the restaurant can definetly be changed around but it has a homely feel. The staff was very friendly, I had the chicken parmigiana, which came with a salad and dessert, I will always need a little more seasoning than normally added to food at a restaurant, but everything here is made with fresh ingredients. Try the CHOCOLATESNOWFLAKECAKE, delicious especially for chocolate lovers.

Really bad interior(as is the norm for most restaurants in this area it seems) but the food was solid. Good, crispy(and not too greasy) calamari, tasty eggplant parm and good homemade sauce on the penne so no complaints here. They make all their desserts in house, which is awesome, so make sure you order something. We tried the snowflake cake and it was mighty fine! Come for the food, not the ambiance, but worth a visit(way better than chicken run across the street!!)

Ate there Saturday night October 5, 2013 at about 7pm. There were only about 8 tables in the restaurant. There were about 5 tables being served and 2 waiters. We first waited about 10 minutes to get served. I noticed the waiters go crazy like they couldnt handle the customers. We sit and both waiters both tried to take our orders. They were covering each others tables. Very poor service… I will not be back.
