Great service, excellent breakfast — a local joint. The local fireman were there hugging the waitresses when we were there. Looking into the kitchen, you can tell immediately that you are in good hands — the chef looks like he has prepared many a breakfast. Terrific home fries — and I don’t like home fries. We will be back. Loved it.

If you want the best breakfast in town this is the place to go. I don’t even live in town, but its definitely worth the drive! The restaurant in clean and welcoming. Everything is made fresh and the staff is very friendly. Must haves the crazy good hash. It is homemade with slow roasted corned beef. My favorite is the crabby Benny– poached eggs on homemade crab cakes topped with hollandaise. It is absolutely to die for !!! I consider myself very knowledgeable about breakfast spots, traveling as far as Massachusetts to try new restaurants and this is my favorites spot. A must try!

It saddens me to put down 2 stars… I wanted to really love it here! It is sad that I think my rating is based off of service alone. I am not sure if you would classify it as a problem with the service or maybe just the lack of respect everyone working there had that morning. We(3 of us) walked in shortly after 10am on Memorial Day… We stood at the door for nearly 15min and still not one employee acknowledged us… we noticed that everyone working was tending to their customers but they were not what I would call«Busy.» Several groups of people walked out after waiting 10⁄15 going on 20min. I know that they were hoping we would leave as well because the sign said they were closing at 11. The longer we stood there. the closer to 11 it got. Just before the half hour mark of standing there we were told that they could seat us but that there was a long wait for food… That was again surprising since everyone around us was eating and there was not enough people to again say the place was busy… This seemed like the waitresses final attempt to get us to walk out. We stayed… arriving 45min ahead of closing, for a quick breakfast on a holiday morning seems like a reasonable amount of time to show up. It got really awkward when the door kept opening(at 10:45am) and the staff would inform them that they were closed… It would go back and forth between the customers confused as to why they were saying they were closed when the sign on the door said they were open till 11 and the employees just saying they were closed. This should not be how your community is treated on a holiday… memorial day at that, in a town with very few places to go for a home cooked breakfast… What was the rush? It was a rainy memorial day… Did they have a morning cookout to get to? It made me feel like the staff needs to be reminded that a little bit of customer service goes a long way… They should be thankful they are getting out so early to begin with… I mean would it hurt to stay open till noon? The worst part was when we finished our meal(the food was good, I honestly don’t remember anything about it because of everything that was going on around me) a group of soldiers, in full military camouflage(on Memorial day) walked up to a locked door… They just wanted a hot breakfast after who knows how many hours they dedicated that morning to services, memorials etc. Is it crazy that I would have thought that these employees would have loved to see customers. I mean I guess i just have it in my head that this cute little country breakfast spot would have the coffee pouring all day with regulars gathered around the bar, sitting on barstools, reading the paper, chatting with other locals. etc. Isn’t that part of the culture for a breakfast spot in a small community? I get closing early so that your staff can also enjoy the holiday, but there is a way to do that and not make your customers upset… Remember that were only talking breakfast hours here also… Maybe you can ask for volunteers to work who may plan to celebrate the holiday the day before or possibly who is going to a cookout at say 2 or 3pm… Lastly, this just came to me as I was finishing… We asked our waitress for water at least 3 times possibly 4… She was so concerned about her closing tasks that we never got any… each time we asked it got more and more awkward, until i finally got up and walked to the back counter myself and asked another waitress for a glass… seriously?

The coffee was so good, it needed just some half and half ! Crabby Benny — delicious. The poached egg was done perfectly. The crab cakes had chunks of crab meat in them and tasted homemade! They didn’t have a kids menu but the super sweet waitress had them make her one chocolate chip pancake, which I hugely appreciated. I hate having to order a grown up size breakfast for my 2 ½ yr old. I’m from out of town but would definitely visit this place again if I find myself in Windsor again!

Great food and great service. Had eggs & their corned beef hash. The hash is homemade and wonderful. We were a party of six and everyone else also loved their breakfast. Highly recommend.

My new go to breakfast spot. Been here twice and that is not nearly enough. Loved my crabby Benny. Eggs Benedict over fresh made crab cakes instead of english muffins. And my daughter got the hash omelet. Hash was house made and a highlight of thier menu and the t-shirts that the staff wears. Hash browns were perfect. Next time I will order the toast un-buttered since it was too much for my taste. Big thank you ti the owners for making an excellent breakfast for a reasonable price. 7.95 for a very creative omelet, hash browns and toast. This same dish would be 12 in Simsbury. I thought the service was excellent and I liked that they asked for anonymous feedback with the check. Lunch items look good but didn’t try any. Will be back for sure.

I don’t give out 5 stars often… I want restaurants to earn that. And to earn 5 stars I feel the establishment needs to be on point in all categories. This place nailed it. Not once, not twice but each day for the last 4 days. The omelets are light fluffy and a great variety to choose from. The hash is home made and done very nicely. The eggs Benedict were amazing. The only complaint… and I had to search for it, I like my potatoes to be just slightly more cooked… it is a preference thing, not a taste thing, so I don’t deduct points. Lunch menu offers a wide selection. The staff is great, the cooks know what they are doing. The restaurant is clean. Top marks in all departments. Wish I lived here so I could be a regular.

This place sits in the back of the parking lot and is easy to miss so be careful. Good honest food and plenty of it. Great service too! Try the Popeye omelet.

Reviews looked good and my family was excited to try this place for breakfast. We were excited to try it… that is where the excitement basically ended. The service was good but the food… I had the crabby benny, the crab cakes were mush and I found a coup of shell pieces. When I told the waitress that I didn’t like them she took care of it but the answer that came back from the kitchen confirmed my suspicions… the crab cakes were not made fresh they were either canned or frozen. I wouldn’t waste my time, there are much better places to get a meal.

This is a great small town family breakfast place that won’t disappoint. The interior is a bit plain, however the food is anything but. The omelettes have a reputation of fluffiness and the home fries are among the best I’ve had. Will be back many times for sure!

Came here for breakfast today for the first time.(Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers!). Very clean restaurant. Booth was comfortable. Our server Keri was pleasant, upbeat and attentive. My husband had an Omelette that was a tad bit over-cooked. But, The hash Browns(with onions) were the best we’ve ever had! Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. I got the Corned Beef Platter with fried eggs on top(on the recommendation of Keri.) So glad I did! I ate every speck and will not hesitate to do so in the future. It’s nice to know we have a great breakfast spot so close to home. Good job, Tom!

Traveling on business, I found this place on Google. It’s a true neighborhood hangout and the servers could not be any nicer. The coffee is good. I had eggs Benedict and home fries, it was delicious. Just good home cooked food. My co-worker had the Vermonter omelet — again, just a good home cooked meal. The home fries with the onions were nicely caramelized. If I come back to CT, I’ll definitely be stopping here again.

OMG. Thank you, Unilocal, for leading me here! Here on a business trip. Menu is extensive and creative, service very friendly, fast efficient, and the servers all seem to help each other out. Food was fantastic. Vermonter omelet(cheese bacon apples) was fluffy, flavorful, really great. Home fries(with optional onion!) perfect. I also got the beef hash bc people were raving about it on Unilocal but I didn’t care for it. Maybe it’s just me. Coffee was way way better than anticipated. It has a rich full flavor which you see in diners maybe never. Love it! Update: It’s a few hours later and I’m eating the beef hash cold and it’s pretty tasty cold!

Corned beef hash is made freshly in house daily! Best thing on the menu — you won’t regret it! We found this place thanks to you fellow Unilocalers. We were in town for a wedding and no idea where to go. We were served by the owner’s daughter and she was just spectacular! Also met the owner while we were there. Lots of locals and regulars were there — the owner and waitstaff all know their names. Really cute place and would highly recommend. Will return next time I’m in town! Thank you!

Small unassuming place that makes you feel at home when you come in! Even though it was our first visit, it won’t be our last. Breakfast was excellent – after having seen a Unilocal review that mentioned pigs in a blanket, I just had to have those but they are not on the menu. My man asked our super nice waitress who asked the kitchen and they were happy to oblige. So good! Matthew had an omelet to his liking, with great hash browns. Overall, very cute and clean place with a great staff and menu selection. Would definitely return!

Tasty brunch! Not the cheapest, but totally reasonably priced by Connecticut standards. I got blueberry pancakes and hashbrowns, which turned out to be a standard hashbrown patty. The pancakes were excellent though! Very tasty. My friend had a burger which he wasn’t as enthusiastic about as I was about my breakfast food, so keep in mind that it may be strongest for breakfast. The homemade chips that came with the burger were delicious though! Nice small town diner ambience with a wide variety of patrons.

Talk about«more than meets the eye» with this place. Looks like a hole in the wall in a small strip of stores, but inside is a super clean place with incredible food. I had the chorizo wrap with eggs over medium(nailed it), onions and peppers and a dash of hot sauce. It was super fresh and super tasty. My wife had egg and sausage on a bulkie roll and she said it was one of the best rolls she has ever had. My kiddo loved the french toast. Generous portion. $ 30 with tip not too bad. Highly recommend.
