We made a stop here on our way home from the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival and it was amazing! I’m allergic to meat so I opted out of the buffet, but my husband loved it. I chose a 2 egg breakfast with a side pancake-the pancake was the best I’ve ever had and ENORMOUS! Great coffee, excellent server… we WILL be back next year!

Impressed! Clean, delicious, and good service. We had the brunch buffet and friends ordered breakfast from the menu. The soups were to die for all the buffet food was fresh and tasty. Menu meals were hearty portions. We all left happy.

For small town, rural Kansas, this was a solid experience. My wife and I visited this place taking her grandmother out to eat here. Her grandmother had been in several times before, but this was our first. The first notable thing is the kitschy décor, most of which is for sale. It is stocked with all kinds of interesting and antique-ish furniture and decorations. They also have quite a bit of space. There is a dinning room, the café, and the bar. Take your pick. They have a pretty interesting menu, but my wife, her grandmother, and I all chose the buffet. If you are going in expecting a large buffet, you will be disappointed. However, what they do have is pretty good. Think of the down home country cooking that your grandmother would make and that’s what you’ll find in their buffet. Fried chicken, meatloaf, pulled pork, meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy(which was the bomb!), corn, and peas. There were a few other things I missed that were up there as well. They also have a salad bar, which my wife said was fine, except the lettuce was a bit off. Good experience here. Worth a try again to order off the menu instead of the buffet.

The only reason this place gives two stars because of their food. The manager was absolutely horrible except when the owner showed up and then she decided to act like she was doing something. When I came in she was talking on the phone with a private call discussing her weekend plans. Never once did she ever get off her phone but she let another server take over and get what I needed. The whole time is there two different Servers took care of me. never did this manager ever even get off her cell phone. that is until the owner showed up. Then she was waiting on the owner head and toe!!! I had to ask for servers different things, Sergio and Danny were the only ones checking on me and they didn’t even need to. Sad when u don’t take care of your customers except when the owner is present.

We used to eat here quite a bit, but not so much anymore. Lunches can be pretty good, but are not consistent. Burgers and Reuben’s are usually good; tacos can be good, but are sometimes bland and greasy. Wait staff is always helpful and friendly. The problem seems to be with the kitchen. Orders are often mixed up and quality is all over the place. To-go orders are a mess! They have no idea which order is which or what belongs on each. How hard can it be to track them by name? Winfield badly needs a good place to eat, but they keep shooting themselves in the foot.
