Was in the area so husband and I stopped by for breakfast. Small but cute inside, with a chalkboard menu of specials. I ordered the cinnamon raisin French toast, and he had an omelette with chorizo, salsa and potatoes(forgot the name, but it was very good too).

We had a very bad experience eating lunch here. Our waitress asked if she could take our order when we first day down and we said we needed a minute. She never returned after a long wait we finally called her to the table and asked to order. My son ordered a salad and asked for a scoop of tuna on top. The waitress came back after about 10 minutes and told us that it was going to be an additional $ 8.50 to put the scoop of tuna on the salad. That was absolutely ridiculous because he could have gotten a whole tuna salad sandwich plate for the same amount. Then they delivered 3 out 4 of our parties food and it took another 8 minutes to get the last plate. The food was just ok. We will not be returning.

Wonderfully fresh and inventive breakfast and lunch selections. Power Omelette, Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros are among my favorites. Good coffee, toast, potatoes. Swedish Pancakes A+. Cute atmosphere and good service.

Green Bay Café is the spot for breakfast in Winnetka. You really can’t go wrong with anything in here, I’ve had omelets, pancakes, french toast, bacon — it’s all good, not extraordinary, but really solid food. The neat thing about this place is the atmosphere. It’s small and old fashioned, but feels homey, kind of like your grandma’s house. Anyway, if you’re stopping through Winnetka for breakfast this is the place you have to go.

This place is way cute. It looks more like a tiny diner than a café. Food was pretty good and service was very efficient without being rushed and super friendly. I had the frittata Ixtapa which was like a Mexican omelette on top of a tortilla. It had green onions, salsa, cilantro and cheese topped with sour cream, salsa, and more cheese. It was delicious! My partner had the eggs benedict which too was delicious. Someone said the coffee tastes like Folgers. Well if Folgers tasted like that then it was smooth and delicious. They should get with the times however and start taking credit cards. I’d definitely come back and try the pancakes which they seem to be famous for.

My GF and I strolled down from HP for a Saturday brunch. We found the food to be spot on. Eggs cooked perfectly like no other. The ambiance was quaint. Just what we needed. Be aware this is cash only.

Quaint little place. Food average with prices on the higher side of normal. Given the location the higher prices are expected. Service was good. Coffee could have been better, tasted like Folgers. Lots of freshly baked goods available. Avg breakfast $ 10

Please please only believe the bad reviews. Normally I check Unilocal but didn’t have time. Came in to find: –Greasy utensils with food particulates –Messy tables everywhere with food from previous diners –The food was cheese whizz level bad with instant coffee that cost an arm and a leg. –As mentioned by others, ONLYCASH Never again will I go somewhere without reading through the Unilocal reviews. Yuck.

My girlfriend and I took the dog for a walk at the Skokie Lagoons and stopped here for a Holiday Salad. Fun little kitschy place that you’ll miss if you blink. The pumpkin soup and iced tea with cloves were the perfect cap to a nice fall stroll in the park.

Disgusting. I have no idea if all the good reviews are for the pancakes but the omelets and huevos rancheros were inedible. I wanted to be sick on the plate when they brought me the stack of mush and greasy eggs. It was horrible. We asked for the fruit bowl and got a few bananas on top of a pile of melons– it cost $ 4.95. I absolutely do not recommend.

Yikes. For one, they don’t accept credit cards. What year is this? Two, there’s no AC, and they pack you in like sardines. Bring a fan. Three, the place settings are mix and match plastic cups and bent silverware. At least the food is good, right? No. And they nickel and dime you for everything. I’m really perplexed by the good reviews.

Only accepts CASH!!! No checks or cc. It’s too bad since I really wanted to try this location out but I almost never travel with cash…

Our great little breakfast and lunch place. Blink and you might miss the unassuming storefront on Green Bay road. The menu is long and inventive with many specials written on the chalkboard. Examples today included Chorizo Benedict and Bananas Foster French Toast. Lots of good things on the menu for kids and adults. Service is prompt, friendly and they refill your coffee fast. The atmosphere is cozy with pine tables and an old fashioned service counter with stools bolted to the floor.

Came here one morning with my girlfriend for breakfast and my experience was horrible! I ordered an omelette and she had eggs benedict. The omelette was mediocre at best and only came with toast, but the eggs benedict was delicious! The coffee was also burnt and our server visited our table once! I don’t reccomend this place if you love big omelette platters for affordable prices!

Very cute and quaint little place! I can see how it could fill up very quickly on a Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast and lunch! I loved the décor here! It has a great homey feel! The food was delicious! We all had different breakfast foods! EVERYTHING was amazing! Definitely need to try the pancakes! We will be back if we ever are in the area again! Great service too!

I’ve learned to not have high expectations for restaurants in Winnetka but this little café is awesome! Great brunch menu with dishes that are well executed. Yesterday I had the Eggs Benedict while my boyfriend and I shared the Banana Bread French Toast. The Eggs Benedict were excellent — my only complaint was that there was quite a bit ham, but many people would view that as a positive. The French Toast was so tasty — no syrup needed as they were plenty sweet. Fresh OJ and quick on the coffee refills — a necessity in the morning for me.

Good — not great. Liked the SW tilt of the menu and the frittata I had was pretty good but rather tame on the spice and flavor. expected a little more kick. Corn cakes were quite good — not dry like some had — I’d definitely get them again. Seems place could crowd up quick given seats about 30 but wasn’t busy rainy Wednesday 0900 –30 slot Service was A OK coffee cup stayed full and food came out quick 20 for coffee eggs and short stack not bad in this zip.

Salmon scrambler omelette. Never would I Think to order that. But for some reason I was feeling daring. And was that delicious! Everything about this place is good. Even the small cramped seating got us talking to our neighbors about how good this omelette was. Been here before and there is a reason I come back. A must try if you like good breakfast.

I wish there were more places like this downtown. They have a great menu with a wide range of breakfast and lunch options. The food is always fresh and the service is good. I have had a number of their egg dishes and sandwiches. Not once have I ever been disappointed. Last time we were there we overheard that they had sold 35 cupcakes. The deserts always look amazing, but I have never given into my temptations. If you are a first timer remember that it is cash only! There are only a few tables, but they seem to turn them rather quick.
