Five stars all around. Service, speed, atmosphere, music, wine. .. Truly a gem. Eat here. You will mourn the remainder of your days if you do not, for I have now dined on honeydew(mocha steak) and drunk the milk of paradise(Little James Basket Press white wine).

This place has a great artsy vibe and a wine list a mile long. We only get the small plates and just enjoy drinks. The mussels are amazing and the quantity is enough to fill two people. It is in a cream sauce that is plentiful and the fresh bread makes a perfect compliment to sop up the sauce. This coupled with some of the Thai beef was plenty. There are many other small plates that look great and their burgers smelt heavenly. Make sure to dine al fresco in the back of the place.

We now live in NYC. When we lived in Winston, we were regulars and spent many New Years evenings there. Try the pepperoni flatbread, which I miss despite have similar options in NYC.

I had promised myself that we would venture into Winston more often since downtown seems to be where it’s at! We rode over on a Sunday(Mother’s Day actually), and decided on this stop. There was some sort of festival shutting down so it wasn’t easy to get to many of the restaurants. I did notice that several of them were not open on Sunday so this one kinda won by default. The interior looks pretty small, however, accommodating enough. We opted to eat outside, and there is an option of front or rear. The rear is super cute with a bar, and seating though out the area. The waiter was quick, however, he was new so his suggestions were limited at the time. We assumed they only sold wine, but they do offer a full bar also for you cocktail lovers! After much debate, I decided on the flatbread. Oh wait, they were out of the flat bread to make them. This looked like a large part of their menu, so that was a bummer. I got a cheeseburger, and it was okay.(Okay it was dry and uneventful lol). Hubby got the ribs, and they were super tender and juicy. Unfortunately, the ribs have a strong cinnamon taste — and I’m not really a cinnamon lover. Overall, the location is easy, the staff was friendly and he food is okay. I would visit again…

The food would deserve 3 and a half, but the service is worth 1 maybe 2, so I’ll just round down. The issue was with our waiter. I don’t mind waiting, but our appetizer took abnormally long. About one minute after our app arrives our waiter brings our main dishes with an enthusiastic«look what I have», like we are suppose to be excited that our main dish was served before we had even touched the appetizer, so naturally we said we didn’t want them just yet. Of course our main dishes were lukewarm. On top of that our water was never refilled, I was never asked if I would like another drink(at a wine bar they didn’t ask if I would like another drink… seriously?), and the waiter never checked on us after dropping off our meals. I was looking forward to dessert, but have our crappy service, there’s no way I was giving them any more of my money.

Loved this place! Great wine selection and I believe Thursday’s are half off wine bottles! My food was prepared just the way I ordered it. I got the Mocha Spiced Sirloin with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. The sirloin tasted amazing and the spices were not over the top at all. Overall, I would recommend this dish!

Excellent restaurant! We’ve been there for appetizers and dinner and most recently for a very nice brunch(on Easter Sunday). The cheese platter is one of my favorites.

As someone who frequents downtown Winston quite often, I was excited to finally try Sixth & Vine seeing as I had heard great things; however, I was sadly disappointed. The front door hostess was super accommodating and friendly, I will say. But as our party of five walked to the back of the restaurant, we were squeezed into an area jammed full with tables. Even that was rather okay, I was excited to see what all this«wine bar» had to offer. To put it simply, our server was rude. She acted as if our presence in her section was annoying her from the moment she approached us. With a meager list of maybe 25 – 30 wines TOTAL, I asked for a sample of the Bordeaux and was promptly told that I could only taste if a bottle was previously opened… I’m sorry, isn’t this a wine bar? The server sulked off to see if one had been opened, and she came back and informed me that I could not have a sample for that reason… Are you kidding me? I found that to be entirely inconsiderate and rude to treat a guest looking to buy a bottle of wine at this establishment as if my patronage wasn’t important enough to deserve a sample. I decided to take my family and spend my birthday at this atmosphere and just felt underwhelmed and overlooked. Our server knew nothing about wine or the specials for this evening, which looks poor considering the dishes and drinks fall within the upper echelon of price scale. At least have simple answers to questions regarding the menu you serve. Props to the pecan crusted pork loin though, the dish was delicious and I wish I didn’t feel so uncomfortable returning so I could enjoy it again.

6th& Vine has long ago established a loyal following, but after my most recent visit I realize that may have changed! For the better that is, because the crowds seem larger than they were when I first came here and the ambiance is really cool! The live music you can find here on the weekends is really cool and seemingly geared towards the 40’s+ crowd. Or might I say I at least recognized the tunes! The menu is a bit upper scale for a bar-ish kinda place! I say that because I wouldn’t exactly consider it a bar, nor would I go as far as to say it’s a restaurant either! It’s a bar that a nice restaurant happens to share the same space! There’s adequate restaurant seating inside, and in a cool alley beside this old building is quite a bit of dining space! Perhaps one of the best margaritas I’ve ever consumed was from this very spot on my last visit! Blackberry Margarita was her name, both smooth in tequila taste and tasty in her blackberry flavor! Certainly 6th& Vine is a nice alternative to those of us who’ve seen the sunset of our 39th, and still want a place to comfortably hang when the sun rises on our 40th!

This place is really cute. They had a good choice of wine and some great recommendations for us. The whole atmosphere and service is great here. We had the meat and cheese plate and I highly recommend getting that. I mean, you can’t go wrong with wine and cheese!

This would have high ratings if the seating wasn’t so horrible. You are either awkwardly seated at the front in a window on top of another table or its summer and you can have space to actually eat. The food can be outstanding and I normally go for the daily special of hummus which has never disappointed. However, I truly have anxiety every time I go in and have to be seated because it is 9⁄10 the most uncomfortable place you can ever eat.

This is one of my favorite bars in Winston. It’s a great place to eat during the day and drink come nightfall. They make amazing cocktails and on the weekends they have music and make room for dancing. It’s in a great part of downtown Winston, easily walkable from any of the other night out venues. I LOVE it and might just have to swing by before our Valentine’s Day reservations this weekend for a quick drink :) !

6th& Vine has become a local landmark. The food is top notch and the wine selection is fabulous. The menu changes frequently so I get to try something new all the time. The wait staff is very professional. I have always gotten great service. The restaurant atmosphere changes as it gets later. Fewer diners and more drinkers. They may have a DJ or a band. It’s lots of fun. You can come for dinner and stick around for a couple of hours drinking and watching a live performance. Did I mention it’s right across the street from a city parking garage. $ 2 after 5 and on weekends. If you are looking for a night out or just a great place to have dinner then 6th& Vine should be at the top of your list.

My first time here! This was an awesome experience. The food prices are reasonable plus the atmosphere is set up is warm and inviting. It feels sectioned like the feel of a home– couple of dining tables, some couches, plus a bar. The waiter read out the specials which was a long list– to be honest I only remember the last special. My advice for the specials, it should be limited to two. I order the goat cheese salad. Salad had fried goat cheese. I was a littlehesitant, but the goat cheese was moist and soft in the center enciphered with crusted outside. I enjoyed ordering drinks from a wine bottle– I thought this innovative and creative! It certainly captured my attention. Friday night was a little slow service due to the large number of people being served. Parking: park across the street in parking deck. It is difficult to get street parking. Parking is $ 2 on the weekend and anytime after 5:30pm Overall this was a terrific place, will definitely be going back on a Sunday or Thursday. They have decent wine specials on those days.

Went to Winston Salem Pride yesterday and my group stopped in here for a bite to eat. It was around 3 so it was easy to walk in and get seated right away .They had a limited menu do to the time frame we arrived. I was really expecting more from this place that I always have heard about. I ended up getting a Thai Chicken dish which was very spicy and really small and not worth the price point. Thankfully the people in my party got the flat bread pizzas which did look like a good portion and offered me some of theirs to fill me up. The service was also slow. There was only another group of like 2 people sitting in the same area we were seated. I had to ask for a drink refill and it took forever to get our checks. Not sure why our waiter was so slow. Over all I’m glad to say I finally tried this place and can mark it off my list.

Ok. So we were hungry. We walked into 6th& Vine only to find out at that time they only served appetizers. We frowned a bit but said hey, let’s give it a try. Let me just say if their lunch & dinner tastes anything like their appetizer one then I’m hooked. Outstanding array of food that filled us up perfectly. I ordered the special flatbread pizza with mozzarella, peppers and steak. Phenomenal! Shrimp. Nachos. Chicken. Had it all and it was awesome. The service was great. Friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere with all the art and wine that surrounds you. Great place and will definitely be going back.

I love to come here with my girlfriends. For me this place is very romantic/intimate/chic. There is outdoor seating in the front, indoor seating by a at the front of the building window, regular indoor and outdoor seating located at the back of the establishment. If the weather is nice I recommend seating in the back outside. It feels like a mini vacation. They have plants and herbs outside and it is very quaint. For food I enjoy there breakfast/brunch menu(everything), the Brie is a favorite and their salads are crisp, fresh and packed full of flavor! I also must add that they have a delicious wine menu. I can never go wrong with any of the choices and I try to switch it up each time I come. The service is on point, the servers seem to read their guests because if you are having private conversation they leave you to it and if your feeling chatty they become almost like a part of your group. Overall, one of my favorite places in Winston-Salem.

Have been here many times. They do an especially good flatbread, and the artichoke and crab dip are both tasty. This was a standard spot for wife and I to come to have a bite to eat and drink later in the evening but had a bad experience tonight so may skip it for a few rounds until the bad taste is out if my mouth. Our server tonight, who had no idea what Pimm’s or Fernet Branca are, had the gall to scrunch up her nose at me when I ordered a Manhattan with house rye whiskey. Really? When you figure out a digestif from a Jäger shot then you might be able to scrunch your nose at me. Until then you can keep your cocktail opinions to yourself.

Judging from the outside, this place should be my fav spot in town since they have all my fav things, including wine, a huge patio, and fun downtown location… but, it never really comes together in a way that really works for me. I returned here last week after taking some time off after experiencing issues here in the past and still was not super jazzed. I had the tuna wrap with caesar side salad, which I found to be decent, but nothing to run around the neighborhood about. The husband had the caesar salad with tofu, which seemed equally meh. Bright spots were the bread, which was delightful and the ½ wine(on Sunday). Part of the issue is that I can never find anything on the menu that really gets me too fired up despite a decent amount of offerings. The other thing which has been a consistent theme is slow service, which was apparent this visit as well when our hummus appetizer came out after our entrees. Oh well. I continue to hold out hope for this place because of the great outdoor space and ½ wine on Sundays, but I need to take another bit of a break after our recent visit.

I had passed by 6th and Vine many times before. It was that kind of place you see every day and you say, «wow that place looks good, I ought to try that sometime,» and then you keep forgetting about it until finally one day, you decide to try it. Last Saturday was that day for me. I perused the menu online and it seemed like they had a lot of cool, artisan type stuff on the menu. I was also looking for a place to get a craft cocktail, and this place looked like a good spot for it. I had a good time here, the waitstaff was friendly, and there was pretty steady business inside the store. It was a fun place to people-watch and the décor was SO cute. It would be a good spot for a first date or even an anniversary. I got a White Russian to drink, which was strong and tasted great. The waiter was really informative when I was picking a drink and suggested it. I was happy with his suggestion! We had the baked brie appetizer. It was superb, except I wish it came with more crackers. The strawberry sauce was delicious and I would have eaten it plain if I wasn’t in public. I got the stuffed portabellas for my entrée and it was way more than enough food. I thought it might not be enough when ordering, but the mushrooms were gigantic. I’d definitely come back here again, it seems like a great spot, but it could use some work in some areas. In fact, I was a little hesitant to rate it a 4 but I did because of the service and the creativity/deliciousness of the food. One big red flag for me here is the sanitation score. It’s a 90.0 which is bad enough to make me lose my appetite a little. I also noticed that the menus were really dirty and in need of a good cleaning. My menu had sticky brown spots on it. I am always a bit hesitant about continually eating at places that are 92 or lower, even if the food is good. I didn’t like how dim the lighting was either. I know it is kind of a trendy, bar-type place, but a little more lighting would have made it easier to see what I was eating. All in all, I do recommend 6th and Vine and I have faith that maybe the next time I decide to come here it will be a little bit cleaner. The food is certainly creative and yummy!
