Good neighborhood watering hole. you’ll need quarters for pool. Cheap craft drafts on Wednesdays.

Love this bar. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the patrons seem like they are regulars and really enjoy being with one another. We have been a handful of times and always enjoy ourselves. Their been menu is nice and updated frequently enough. Also great pals with the W-S Woflhounds, a Gaelic football team my husband is a member of! :)

Carlisle’s is a favorite among local neighborhood bars… Pool, darts, and a clever selection of microbrews and draft options. The bartenders are awesomely attentive and keep the drinks strong, just the way we like them. Definitely a hidden charm in Ardmore.

Been coming here about once a month for a few years. Bartenders are always friendly and even remembers my choice of beer. Front sitting area is a great place to sit and enjoy a cold one. You can sit outside and enjoy a beverage or sit inside and watch sports, shoot pool or throw darts!!! Good times!!!

A true Pub atmosphere, with local brews & taps that change seasonally. They have experienced, friendly bartenders & the best TouchTunes jukebox in town. Pooltables, foosball & always a great video game, this place is a true neighborhood Pub & a must visit while in Winston Salem!

Carlisle’s has been growing on me following recent visits. I think this can largely be credited to their service. It is tough to find bartenders of this quality, especially in these parts. They really make more of an effort to remember you and your drink of choice. Even though there may be a full bar, they are prompt to take care of everyone. While Carlisle’s may be a bit of a dive compared to a number of bars in town, I really appreciate a good dive if service makes it worthwhile. In my experience, places like this are usually where you will meet the nicest people… both staff and patrons. You can’t beat the prices, either. I have also learned the trick regarding the lack of food here! Everyone is going to want a bite to eat after a couple beers, and there is only a parking lot separating Carlisle’s and Papa John’s. What do people want more than anything after getting a decent buzz? Pizza, of course. Just go grab the pizza, bring it back, then keep drinking! I’m not positive as there have been long breaks between my trips to Carlisle’s, but I do believe they added additional draught beers. Their selection is still rather basic, but a Yeungling or Miller Light always hits the spot. I have also grown to appreciate their basic selections since so many bars in the area try to specialize in craft beers, high end cocktails, etc. While those serve their purpose, sometimes I like to have a few beers without a $ 60 tab.

My husband and I moved into Ardmore about a year ago. A neighborhood bar is part of what sold us on the neighborhood. I *love* playing pool. Since we simply don’t have the means to own our own pool table, Carlisle’s is the next best thing. I would much rather go play and have a few beers at Carlisle’s than pay an arm and a leg at the Fox & Hound. There are only two pool tables, but I’ve never had trouble getting one. The bartender couldn’t be friendlier. My sister-in-law and her husband recently came to visit. Even though they clearly were not regulars, the bartender automatically went to the trouble of trying to remember their names and their drinks of choice. You just cannot expect that level of personalization just anywhere. Carlisle’s is cheap, too! Most bars in Winston-Salem are quite proud of themselves. This is reflected by the high prices you pay by the time you leave. Carlisle’s is not that way. The perfect neighborhood bar.

Been here once and not for long, but first impressions are: Atmosphere: — Liked the atmosphere — lots of bar seats, two pool tables, dart board, foosball, various game units, jukebox — I was there around 11 on a Saturday, and it was not crowded like a previous reviewer said. The bar was lined with some obviously local patrons watching sports, and the crowd was mostly older than I am. — The bartender was friendly with everyone. Drinks: — Half dozen draft beers, with a good special on this Saturday($ 2 Yeungling). — Good bottle selection, including Framboise — but the price tag of $ 8 is prohibitively expensive. I can see this being a good place to go with friends, but as it’s not walking distance from my house, it probably won’t be my first choice.(Now if the Framboise were on draft and a more reasonable $ 6, I’d reconsider this.)

I like the bartenders here a lot and they have the lindeman’s framboise I love so much. There are two pool tables, a digital jukebox, darts, foosball, & a couple of arcade games. Not usually busy on weeknights but fills up on weekends. I prefer weeknights because I like having a table to sit at/not having to push through a crowd.

I met a friend here the other night. Right down the street from my house. This is the poster child for all pubs. A tiny entrance and long interior gives you the feeling of being in a Boston ale house. I don’t drink but my glass of coke never fell below half full.(no charge) Nice staff and patrons here. There is a pool table in the back and three tvs at the bar. Perhaps I enjoyed this place so much because the Dodgers were losing that night.
