When I think Greek, George’s Grecian Corner is what I think about. I used to say do we have cash, let’s go to George’s. But now with them taking Credit cards I never have to worry. I have been coming here for a very long time. Never had a bad meal, and never left disappointed. I always get The Gyro and depending on my mood I’ll get beer battered onion rings or fries. I wish the onion rings had a dip that came with them, but I always order ranch. The gyro is the best! Amazing flavor, the veggies are great, but be warned the onion and peppers are uncooked. My wife orders the souvlaki she has had both the chicken and pork. Again the best I’ve ever had. They have an awesome Mediterranean seasonings, and a hint of lemon. They have expanded which was needed it gets packed especially at lunch. Dinner can be just as busy.

Eaten here quite a few times. Last couple of times not so great. Salad is chopped up lettuce and peppers with no peppers or cucumbers and one sad olive and, for me, not really like a Greek Salad. Gyro was some strange looking block of meat like you get at Sheetz or something. Just saying. Souvlaki was not so bad. I don’t know; not bad but not like I remember it.

We have not been back for sometime. The food tends be salty and spicy. The parking lot is small. And hard to find a parking place. The tables are close together. When it gets crowded. It is hard to move. There were many dirty tables. And hard to find a table. To eat at. The employees not busy. They not clean it up. Only male customers get good service. The female employees run away from female customers. We had to ask them to take order. And said they not want to. it is not their job. We told them not believe it. Rush to get rid of us, talk back rude, yell at us, walk away in the middle of wait on us. We had to ask them to come back and finish the job. Interrupt us while speaking to us. Not tell us our order is ready. The prices are moderate. And get a full portion of food. And a lot of food to choose from. We got french fries too salty. And the hamburger was burned. We not ask for mayonnaise and onions. That we got on it. They gave us a complimentary beverage for waiting extra time. The cup is big size. And once the order was corrected it was good. Though the hamburger had too much spice in it. And the french fries still too salty.

Ummm yes, this place is awesome! I’ve never encountered such friendly staff. I went in for lunch on a Friday and the place was packed, we had to wait for a table. They told us how many people were in front of us and we were a bit hesitant because we didn’t have much time for lunch. They must of heard us debating staying and offered to take our order now so the food would be ready when our table was ready. Perfect! We ordered and only waited maybe ten minutes for our seat. As we were sitting down our food was headed towards us. The staff were really friendly all around, I appreciated them going the extra mile even though they were in the throughs of a huge lunch rush. I went with the gyro and it was really delicious. It had a ton of tomatoes on it which I was a fan of. I look forward to heading in again. Just a reminder they do accept credit cards now.

Alright, so I eat a lot of gyros. Like, A LOT. They’re kind of my favorite thing to eat. The Grecian Corner has, hands down, the best gyro I’ve ever eaten. The meat is always perfectly cooked, a little crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the sauce has just the right amount of tang. I try to go by at least once every other week or so on my lunch and recommend it to everyone who’ll listen. My wife swears by their chicken souvlaki as well, you really can’t go wrong.

Very good gyros and souvlakis, tzatziki, and greek salads. Great service for take-out — not really my cup of tea for eat in. Excellent homemade dressings for salads as well. Five stars if you are going for take-out.

I had Greek food for the first time here and absolutely LOVED it! Their zucchini veggie parties were to die for and everything else on the menu was of great quality and delicious! Will definitely come back and recommend anyone with a Greek craving to come here!

I was very impressed with my first visit to the Grecian Corner. I was craving Greek and they are very close to my job. The service was great. I appreciated how the waitress double checked my order to make sure I ordered the right thing. I got the combination platter which comes with gyro, chicken, Spanakopita and salad. All of the items were delicious. I liked the nice crust on the gyro and it was a thick slice which is my preference. The chicken was tender and flavorful. They make their spanakopita into individual triangles instead of one pan which gives you a lot more phyllo goodness. My salad and spanakopita were covered in yummy feta. The dressing is tasty and you get a bottle of it to use at the table. It is quick service and the prices are good. My huge meal was 9.50. I will be coming back next time the Greek craving hits.

Yet another great greek restaurant in the triad area. Grecian Corner is a small place and would be tough to find if you didn’t know what you were looking for. It is right up the street from First Street Draught House. It is a fairly small place and can get loud at peak times, but the food and prices will have you coming back. We went right at the height of lunch at about 12:30 on a Monday and were seated right away. An avid fan of this place had told me ahead of time that I should get the Combination Platter, so I obliged. The platter is right under $ 10 and comes with a lot of food. You definitely won’t be leaving hungry. The platter includes a chicken skewer, gyro, spanakopita, pita bread, and a greek salad. Everything was good but the gyro is what really stood out. Perfectly seasoned and tender. Their homemade Tzaziki sauce was thick and paired perfectly with the pita and gyro meat. The greek salad was large and the dressing on it was great. They also only put one olive on it, which is nice for me because I’m not a huge fan of them. The service was great and our drinks were always kept filled. Speaking of drinks, they have Cheerwine, which is always a plus. Our food came out within 10 minutes or so. Waiting should not be an issue here. The place is a little loud in the front area, so this isn’t the place to have a meeting or bring a date, but it is great for a quick, delicious, and reasonably priced lunch. The Grecian Corner has quick and friendly service, great food, and a reasonably priced menu. I would recommend this place for lunch especially if you’re looking for a good gyro.

Best Gyro in the triad. Hands down. While the inside of the restaurant may be a little dingy, don’t let this discourage you from eating here. Their souvlaki is also to die for. I love when greekfest comes through, but until discovering Grecian Corner I had no options for a gyro on par with the ones at Greekfest . The interior could use a HUGE update, however the food is incredible.

Yum, delightful authentic greek diner food. It is so nice to eat on the cheap and feel fantastic afterward! Their tzatziki amazes me and my taste buds! Call ahead and get it to go… or eat in the back, there is a whole big secret part to this restaurant! BUTDONOTFORGETTOBRINGCASH. But if you do, they have their own atm! Ooopah!

This little restaurant is right by my work, making it a very convenient option when Im feeling less than motivated to bring something from home. I will definitely say that the food is always very tasty and fresh. It never takes long to come out and I always leave wanting about 100 lbs more of the pita and hummus. On the down side though, they only accept cash which I find rather inconvenient being I never have cash. In the electronic age we are in, I feel like more and more people are paying with some sort of phone, watch, or the old school debit card. It would be a sound investment to get a card reader, in my opinion. In their defense, they have an ATM on site. But with the $ 1.50 surcharge plus the $ 2.50 fee from my bank I couldve gotten some baklava for that :(As well, I ordered take out, and after arriving back at work, realized that they didn’t even give me a fork or napkin.

The chicken souvlaki is AMAZING. The greek salad is delicious as well. You can usually sit wherever you want, which is very nice. Everyone is very nice and accommodating(even going so far as to change the temperature if it gets too cold). It is just too bad they do not accept credit cards. There is an ATM inside you can use if you do not mind paying the fee. Either way, you should definitely try it!

The chicken souvlaki is incredible. That is the number one reason to go here. Take this place over Athena. One of Winston Salem’s gems, and it has been around for years. Better suited for meat eaters, but either the chicken or lamb souvlaki will make you very happy and turn you into a repeat customer. Seating is easy. They’ve also expanded the seating arrangements this past year with an extra section, so it’ll be very unlikely you’ll have to stand around. A lot of people get the food to go, but if you have the time, eat it there while it is hot and fresh. Their fries are pretty basic but go well with the sandwiches /gyros /pitas. Atmosphere has a mom/pop feel. Parking is very easy with a large lot. Service is friendly and fine. I had an incorrect pick-up order, and they solved it almost immediately, no extra charge and let me keep the wrong order too. IMPORTANT: Have cash! Old school. They don’t accept credit cards.

I’m ashamed that it has taken me so long to get to Grecian Corner after living in Winston for 8+ years. I came on a weekday for lunch and the place was packed. Lots of people coming and going with to-go orders as well. I was placed at a table and had a chance to review the menu. I wanted to sample many things so I went with the combination platter and a Cheerwine. The platter came with: a chicken skewer: really moist, well-seasoned chicken. I finished it and was left wanting more. a slice of gyro: I don’t doubt the authenticity, but my piece was a bit dry. I was able to use the tzaziki to liven it up a bit but I was a bit disappointed. a piece of spanakopita: this was different from other spanakopita I’ve had before. I normally LOVE spanakopita, but I only liked this version. The extra feta on top was nice but I wanted more filling. The pita bread that came with the plate was very tasty. As others have mentioned, service is top notch. Very friendly and quick. I’ll definitely return to the Grecian Corner as I’m interested in trying some of their other menu items.

Greatest Gyro on earth! Hands down! This is my go to place to fulfill my craving for a gyro! This is a masterpiece: nice warm pita, just the right amount of sauce, tomatoes, peppers, and gyro meat. Oh yes hot fries, upon request, the first ones were luke warm. And the special treat for the day, a nice chipped ice chilled Cheerwine. Too much, too much. That was a great Saturday lunch outing and it really met my expectations and more. This was my first eat-in experience since they expanded the dinning area. It is a definite plus. The space is still cozy, so people having LOUD cellphone calls will interrupt your conversation at your table, whether you want it to or not. Bring your cash, they do not accept debit or credit cards! Enjoy. We will be back real soon.

I didn’t realize how long it had been since we’d eaten at this great little spot(well over a year), but after lunch there today, it will not be nearly that long again. The place is no bigger, or quiter, the small tables are no farther apart, and they still don’t take credit or debit cards, but the food items we like here are still outstanding, the portions are still more than enough, the service is still excellent, and the prices are still more than reasonable. Staying away this long is still foolish. The Spaghetti with meat sauce($ 7.25) is excellent and there is plenty of it — the flavor in the meat sauce is full & rich, thought the meat is just a touch light. The Garlic Bread is mild, and perfectly toasted. The Garden Salad(add for $ 2) is make special by the house made Blue Cheese Dressing(we bought some extra to take home(12 oz for $ 3.75). The Gyro($ 8.10 with FFs) remains one of my very favorites — in fact, here was the first time I’d tried a Gyro I really liked — before the meat was sliced too thin and/or it was dry & tasteless. The lamb and beef blend is perfectly spiced, perfectly cooked on a vertical pit, and the cubes of meat are tender, incredibly flavorful, and more than ample. The green peppers, onions, and tomatoes are fresh tasting, and also plentiful. The house made Tzaziki Sauce is another one of the keys to the great taste of this gyro — it is thicker than most, and they add sour cream which adds texture, and a nice, light sourness. The Pita is really nice as well, though not made in house — it is commercially purchased from a specialty Greek food supplier. It is near perfect, and the combination of all these make this gyro near perfect, as well. The FFs are very good, but I don’t know why I keep ordering them, I never seem to have room to eat many of them. Yeap, we’ll be back.

I stopped in here for dinner last night and I have to say I wasn’t too impressed. The service was great, but the food was very average. I have had much better gyros at other places and I do not feel like these were homemade. They were very dry and lacked flavor, they also piled a lot of onions and peppers but they weren’t cooked? Very strange. I don’t think I would go back. Also it is cash only.
