Looks, smells clean in the building and room. It looks like some areas were remodeled. Staff is friendly. Surprisingly, inside the build and room it is quiet. It is very noisy out in the parking lot because it is near the interstate and there’s a lot of birds chirping out near some big bushes. They offer breakfast, WiFi, fitness center and there is a pool. Walking distance to several restaurants and it is near the mall.

Usually I really like Hampton Inn hotels but this one just didn’t do it for me. They are currently doing construction(2nd floor Dec-2013) and I heard them banging through the afternoon and then in the morning. Upon check in they asked if the 2nd floor would be okay, but I didn’t realize they asked probably because they knew the construction would be a disturbance. The surrounding area is alright. It’s basically a bunch of strip malls with all the major stores you could ask for(you decide if this is good or bad). A bunch of chain restaurants and a few decent places to eat. Not quite sure I would stay here again the next time I am visiting Wake Forest University Hospital.

Stayed here over the summer for a couple of nights before my wedding. I’ll keep the review short and sweet. The staff was incredibly helpful setting up the block of rooms for our wedding guests. The rooms were very clean as were the bathrooms. The air conditioning was quite powerful(we had one room with all the flowers cranked down to about 60 °F in early August). The breakfast was more than adequate, and there was always coffee in the lobby– a major plus as we finished final details for the wedding! Very reasonable prices too– considering you get free breakfast especially! It’s close to Hanes Mall and there’s Starbucks nearby as well as all sorts of other stores, so you can pick up anything you may have forgotten quickly and easily. If you’re having an event in Winston Salem and are deciding on where to book a block of rooms, I’d reserve them at Hampton Inn! Not too far from downtown Winston Salem(~5 miles) and pretty close to Tanglewood too(~9 miles).

I’ve stayed at this location many many times in business. Their rooms are always spotless their staff is very friendly and helpful. I always feel safe staying here and the free breakfast is a plus. I disagree with previous reviews and ill say their wifi if just fine I’d rather stay at a friendly clean hotel with average wifi then a dirty one that offers you gimmicks to make you stay. Bravo to this hotel and their staff.

First time I have ever stayed at a Hampton Inn and I was not disappointed. Very clean hotel, very friendly staff, and a nice breakfast. I will stay here again. Only thing I wish they did differently was the coffee pot. I just hate it when hotels only offer that goofy pot that only dispenses ONE cup at a time. At least give the guests a 4 cup maker that some other chains have. I didn’t take any points off though as they have plenty of coffee in the lobby all day.

Electric outlets! Everywhere in the room! Two by the bed, 2 on the desk, in the bathroom, I almost didn’t need to use my travel surge protector/splitter, but I travel with an octopus of electronics and peripherals. The desks have a looks-like-an-Aeron-chair but it’s made of hard plastic pegs was surprisingly comfortable. I liked that it was not made of foam and fabric, I always get itchy when I sit on those. The refrigerator was spacious and not filled with $ 98-if-you-touch-it cans of soda. The beds were also perfectly firm. I’m sure this will change in the coming months, but for my stay, there was no sag. The staff was very pleasant and attentive, had a nice conversation with a young-looking manager who turned out to be a grandmother(her skin secret is to get a lot of sleep). The parking lot encompasses the hotel, there are doors at every side, so you won’t have to do much walking no matter where you park. There’s a CVS across the street for your traveling needs too. The hotel is deeply inset into the property, so it’s a short hike, not just a quick dash across some lanes. I was too busy to try out the gym, but it was located outside, across the dining area, so if you’re going for a p.r. with that extra 1⁄16 pound plate, you can grunt to the content of your inner ape. The included breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about. The cut fruit was in a sweet syrup, the yogurt had more preservatives than I cared to read, lots of breads/muffins/sweet carbs. I had the oatmeal, bananas, and an apple. There are 2 waffle stations that are surprisingly not as messy as I thought it would be. This Hampton Inn isn’t located near any walkable areas of touristy interest, but it is just a few blocks from the freeway.
