The Microtel by Wyndham brand has a lot to work on. Given the value here its not a good experience. The rooms are very dated, the smell and the bathroom looks like something out of a dorm in the early 90’s its that dated. Do your self a favor and stay at another brand for s few extra dollars. Even for a night as an emergency rest stop or too tired to go on this is not good. Waiting for the roaches to come out at night. I have been in barns that smelled better than this. I did not realize you can still smoke in a hotel room.

Have stayed here twice now. The first time there were some loud people across the hall so I just turned up my tv and didn’t say nothing. Breakfast is very limited. I decided to give it one more shot, not a good idea. I think this is the neighborhood party spot. There are doors literally slamming and shaking the damn walls. There is 3 or 4 rooms full of people around my room running in and out non stop. Yelling in the halls, slamming doors you name it and its happening. Now about the price if I walk in off the street I can get a 49 dollar a night rate. I have a CLC lodging card which is supposed to to a lower rate. I get good rooms at great 3 star hotels for $ 55 a night, they charge CLC $ 54 at this dump. Never again will I stay here and I suggest you dont either. If you are CLC go up the street a few blocks to the Sleep Inn, great hotel, quite, clean, and awesome breakfast.

In the past year I’ve spent more than a few weekends around this side of the city visiting friends and family. My last time I decided to try a cheaper hotel, since by now I knew the area well enough to feel comfortable doing so. Speaking of the area. This hotel is in a safe neighborhood. It shares a parking lot and a pool with a more expensive hotel, offices and a steak house. No need to fear that this cheap motel has been turned into some creepy one room a piece apartment building. The parking spaces are well lit and I felt perfectly safe sitting outside in the wee hours of the morning taking a phone call. The hotel it’s self is nice enough. You get what you pay for. The rooms are extremely small but I went in with that knowledge. The television was tube style and the bathroom was standard sized. It was clean and comfortable. I didn’t hear my neighbors and had a restful nights sleep in a comfortable bed. The staff is a little iffy. Again, you get what you pay for. You can have a comfortable room but friendly, well dressed, helpful and attentive staff isn’t what I found. They reminded me exactly how little I was paying for their services When I came downstairs to exchange a dollar for quarters(Their drink machines only accept coins. How bizarre is that?) the man behind the counter he never once looked up from his cell phone or actually spoke to me. It was a little off putting when compared to how friendly the staff at all the neighboring, and more expensive, hotels had been to me over the past few months.

There’s no way I could give this place less than 4 stars when I think about the value. The rooms are pretty nice and they are very cheap. Free internet is a huge bonus. Free breakfast is pretty limited and the walls are kinda thin, but those are the only real drawbacks for me.

I found the front desk staff upon check in to be quite polite and professional. My room had two queen beds, and had notiable more space than other Micotels I have used. This property has a parking lot that connects to the Comfort Suites next door, so parking can be limited for both properties, especially if you are arriving later in the night. Had a quirky experience, as the front desk called me at 4 in the morning and said they had six noise complaints about me. I had classical music playing quite low and soft as I usually do at night. The more I thought about the complaint, I wondered why they would wait until they had 6 complaints to resolve the issue.

Received an email from district supv. about my problem. He assured me the general mgr would contact me by today to resolve my issue. No call. No email. Great job Microtel. Never again.
