Friday night, this place was utterly embarrassing for me to even say I was there. Outside was a poor attempt at a DJ with 1s &2s set up on a precarious shaky table playing off beat blends from all genres and years but nothing you could dance to. Honestly, the air outside was filled with cigarette smoke and was an actual parking lot. The bar itself has no Red Stripe or Red Oak so both of us where disappointed.

This is your perfect neighborhood bar. Everyone there feels like family. The owner, John, and his wonderful family welcome you with open arms.

So this is a nice little bar on the«outskirts» of downtown. It almost borders on a dive but in that its charm is found. It doesn’t pretend to be one of the pretentious places that charges $ 10 and up for cocktails. You can get a good cold beer here and listen to some decent music. The crowd here seemed to be in the 30yr-45yr old range. there is a pool table and several TV’s. There were a few cornhole boards outside and a few outdoor seating areas. If you are a member(which I think happens if you fill out an application and pay a dollar) you can order from a little bar menu that has snacks, sandwiches, and some pizza. Certainly a decent place to pop in for a cold winter night.

The bartender didn’t know how to make coffee for my wife. He had to refer to his tablet to find drink recipes for other customers. We were just visiting town for the day and wanted to get a drink and watch some football on a Saturday afternoon. Nothing good or bad to say about the joint. However, I doubt if we will return the next time we’re in town.

Such a great neighborhood bar! Great for the locals as well as for the regulars, great friendly bartenders as well as people to be around.

Nice place, but with one of the most random taps I’ve ever seen. A general beer on tap would be good. If I have to scratch my head about what the beer is, it’s not a good sign.

Great beer and drink selections, nice location — the view of downtown is excellent. Good pool table — only 25 cents a game. There’s ample outdoor seating. Almost always free popcorn and food. It’s an all around really great neighborhood bar.

Very Cheap Drinks! Great location for before/after ball games; Friday night live, mellow music; the owners(Paige & David) are very friendly; Due to NC laws, membership is required, but someone inside will usually call you their guest until your membership is on file… you may have to ask to be a guest because the bartender is not supposed to suggest it. Usually has an older crowd, but everyone is welcome
