Enjoyed 2 dozen oysters at this small oyster spot in winter garden. The fish dip was pretty good. The menu is limited but if you are looking for a oyster fix this is the place for you. The happy hour prices weren’t anything to go running for, I’ve seen much better deals elsewhere.

Visited Orlando, this place was highly recommended for it’s oysters and ceviche. So we order both with a Bloody Mary. Ceviche was awful, tasted sour. When I told the staff about it they took it back but tried to explain how they cooked(I’m no stranger to ceviche). Oysters were amazing and individually large. Replaced the ceviche with smoked fish dip, which was delicious.

Great little hidden place down on Park Ave. Oysters were fresh, beers were cold and they have a great happy hour. Outside seating is limited and a bit too cozy but the food more than makes up for it! Will be back soon for sure :)

My hubby and I tried ABO for the first time yesterday, thanks to a Groupon($ 17 for their oysters and champagne split). Unfortunately the experience was not impressive. We knew ABO was a small place from prior reviews(and a glimpse of it on our last trip to Winter Park). We chose to sit outside since the weather was cool and a bit overcast after rain — it seemed like a better choice since the restaurant itself was pretty crowded. As for our order, we ordered our oysters raw. When the plate came out, they looked promising and very tasty! Not the case. I’m not sure whether we just had an «off» experience(based on some prior reviews saying ‘awesome oysters!’) but ours were actually tasteless and gritty.(After a quick Google search I know that this *is* oyster season… so this was disappointing.) Both of us picked bits of shell from our mouths. It wasn’t my first time with oysters, but I thought even the raw ones would be cleaned better. Very unpleasant to accidentally crunch on bits of shell while eating.(Speaking of shells, there was nowhere to put the empties. We ended up stacking them on the plate with the others. Previous places I’ve visited would at least offer an empty bucket or plate.) We used cocktail sauce and/or horseradish on the ones that were gunk-free. When we asked for crackers to eat with them, we got a literal package of saltines straight from the box, still in bag.(I thought I remembered seeing that on a Unilocal tip, but I did not remember at the time.) We had a few handfuls of those with and without oysters. They had more flavor. The good thing about the experience was our bill amount: with the Groupon voucher it came to $ 1.95. The meal is priced at $ 30 on the menu. I am glad we didn’t pay full price. After(originally) posting this, I received a message from the General Manager, with an offer for a return visit. Nice to see the communication, but we’re not planning to come back.

I am still in love with this location — tucked back and filled with old wood — it just lends a nice atmosphere. I am really glad that they’re getting more business than the last time we visited — all tables inside and outside were full! You go, ABO :). Oysters this time were shucked properly with no she’ll pieces(thank goodness) and served quickly(we came before the rush). We came during happy hour where all beers are 5 $(makes hubby happy and let’s him tolerate this place since he won’t eat oysters — blahblahbah raw shellfish/Doctor jargon). I ordered an oyster shooter and I have never had one like this before — which is not necessarily a bad thing — just different. First of all, it is served in a small rocks glass and it is a fresh oyster in a strong Bloody Mary. The happy hour menu said horseradish infused vodka, and there is definitely a lot of that in there — just with Bloody Mary mix. They were 3 $ on the menu and honestly, I’ll probably come back for just these when my oyster loving friends are in town — they were awesome. Just not oyster«shooters» as described. They should make a new menu item for this(but keep the price the same ABO, just so I can justify ordering more than one next time ;)) Also, hubby ordered an ABO burger which was 7 $ off the HH menu, but it did not come with fries. That was an expensive burger! But it was incredibly delicious. It came from Boca’s kitchen which means that Boca will be our next stop! Snafu with the system when checking out caused a delay which was a bit annoying, but servers were great.

Maybe tonight was an off night… i wasnt happy at all during this experience. The gulf oysters were huge this time but it wasnt as tasty as the first time. The horseradish and cocktail sauce made it taste a bit better. Some of the oysters, i had this time had a strange smell which made me loose my appetite. I usually finish a bucket of 17 oysters by myself but i ate and stopped at 5. The oysters had a lot of sand and grits, Im assuming the guy didn’t shuck them well. The service is lacking, our waiter never asked us if the food was okay, water wasn’t refilled, although he did ask if we wanted another beer. I guess water isnt as important since theyre not making any money. The tables are filled to its capacity just about 2 other couples there with us. The ABO burger is still tasty however, dont pay an extra $ 8 for cheese and fries. I thought it was not worth it. I wanted the Happy Hour but was charged for regular price. The fish dip is the best part for this trip. We ordered 2 fish dip but the second didn’t come. The coleslaw is white cabbage pickled in red vinegar. The cabbage left a purple stain. I didn’t enjoy that. The price is only $ 2. It’s not lost. It did make me feel unwelcomed from the server and we wouldn’t want to come back to this place for a long time since we did have a really good beginning from our first visit.

A pretty nice little oyster bar with a small menu and a few selections of beer. The customer service was great and friendly with two people shucking oysters while waiting tables. We ordered a dozen oysters for $ 21 and a pound of peel and eat shrimp for $ 17, along with a glass of the strongbow. The food was a bit pricey and the oysters were a bit small, but the taste was fresh and the shrimp was well seasoned. The setting was nice and is a great place for a quick bite with friends. It’s not a very big place so i wouldn’t come here with family. They occasionally offer a groupon at this location so keep an eye out, with the groupon this is a must have.

Tucked away off of Park Ave and quite hidden lies this little gem! The actual inside is quite small… a bar with a few long tables very close by. Not a lot of walking space. The menu is also small in fitting with theme of the place. basically oysters, and shrimp. We really enjoyed the food the first time, however the second time the servers weren’t paying attention(to both our drink needs nor the food) and they overcooked our shrimp to a mushy mess. But there is serious potential here. At one point we ordered a bucket of oysters and it was not a bucket… not even close. With that said I think this is a great unique addition to Park Ave and I hope it succeeds… just needs a little managerial work.

Came here for a Friday night happy hour and it was on point. $ 1.50 Louisiana Gulf oysters(shucked right in front of you), $ 3 oyster shooters(your choice of tequila or vodka — go with the vodka, trust me), $ 5AMAZING fish dip(huge portion and delicious), $ 5 burger(came with fries. didn’t try it, but it looked pretty good), $ 5 draft beers and house wine. I’ve heard a lot of complaints that they never have oysters, but that wasn’t an issue we ran into and we went there at 6pm on a Friday night. The place as pretty busy too. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. The interior was small, but designed well. I loved it here and will be back.

We wandered into this tiny bar, nestled in an alley off of Park Ave to the right of Boca, last Saturday evening because of a Groupon and were pleased overall but felt a few things could be tweaked to make it truly great. The menu is extremely limited but I’m guessing that is part of the bar’s thing, so while I do respect that, I wish there were more options considering how good the food we did try was. Clams, fish fry, hush puppies; anything, really. I also think it’s a great idea to have a burger on the menu since there’s always someone in the group who doesn’t like seafood. It doesn’t really«fit» with the theme but it’s a smart addition. We started off with the fish dip appetizer, which came with a few jalapenos and a bag of crackers — seriously, they just handed us a bagged stack out of the Nabisco box. I’m not knocking it, but it was sort of an odd choice of presentation. The fish dip is heavenly, especially with the pickled jalapenos it was served with. My wife ordered a dozen oysters, which she thoroughly enjoyed. There was nothing really fancy or unique about them, but they were good, as were the cocktail and horseradish sauces. I ordered a full pound of shrimp which were seasoned with old bay. While they were good, they were — hands down — the messiest shrimp I have ever eaten. The meat pretty much crumbled out of the shell, I could barely keep the shrimp together on my fork. For a place that has the word«Beer» in its name, I was a little underwhelmed with the selection. They had the traditional macro labels and a few crafts on draft, but it was mostly lighter brews, which I was bummed about. I didn’t expect to wander in and find something obscure, but the selection was still disappointing. Also, not that I am holding this against the overall experience, but, man, this place was dead for a Saturday night. I don’t think anyone knows it exists, which is a shame. With a few extra items added to the menu and an expanded beer selection, this could be a cool hangout. If I’m around during happy hour(the HH menu looks great), I will definitely swing by again.

What a great spot right off of Park Ave! I love oysters and I can’t believe I didn’t know about ABO! We found street parking a few blocks away and walked over to the little hidden spot. We sat ourselves at one of the tables. We came here on a Sunday to watch some football. They have NFL Sunday Ticket here. Our server(I think his name was Austin) was super friendly and gladly turned on different football games on the tvs for us. He was really great at talking us through their lovely beer selection. The oysters were delicious! I love their hot sauce! ABO has a great happy hour Monday-Friday that I will definitely be back to try!

I had the ABO burger, which tasted very good, the sauce they put on the burger was very tasty. The server were awesome and helpful, his names is Mark. The I have two complaints, one is the bar smells like oysters but then it is a oyster bar and the other thing is I asked for was a medium-well burger and I got a well done burger, other than that I like the place and will be back.

Love this place! It’s hidden from Park ave and is pretty small but it’s now My most favorite low key spot to watch football. They have delicious oysters, shrimp, a burger and a couple other small apps. Don’t come here looking for a meal but rather some good snacks to eat while you drink beer and watch football. They have a really nice craft beer selection. Wine too but no liquor. The bartender was super friendly and attentive which I can always appreciate.

Healthy eating is hard when they mention a $ 5 signature burger that usually costs $ 17. The burger actually comes from next door, a placed called Boca. I ordered it medium cooked and a side salad. To my surprise it came with a whole bunch of seasoned fries. I ordered a side salad to avoid the fries(ugh! How could I right?) and I actually loved it. Mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and with their house dressing. I ate the burger bun-less but I can say it was cooked perfectly and it had lots of flavor. They had a decent amount of drinks for happy hour but I’ll review those next time as I had the courage to stay away from those this visit ;) Great service too. Would like to explore their menu a few more times!

This is a little hidden restaurant behind where bistro on the park is. They have a small outside courtyard area that seats probably 8 people. The inside area is also small and it’s taken up mostly by a bar and there are also a few tables. They apparently have a great happy hour specials Monday through Friday with $ 1 oysters and drink specials(we missed that we came on a Saturday). We ordered a half dozen oysters that were clean and fresh these came with lime, crackers and this really tasty hot sauce, also this cucumber brine like mixture. We also had two glasses of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon blanc which was really good. This place has so much potential because it’s a step away from the huzzle and buzzle of winter park’s main shopping area. Also the little courtyard reminds me of being in Florence. They just really need to work on their wait staff! Our server even though nice didn’t seem to have a clue on how to properly wait on people. We had to go back and forth trying to get him to tell us what wines they had so instead of bringing out a list or telling us he decided to bring an arm full of wine bottles to show us(shaking my head still as I write this).

This is a small place, and when we went, not crowded at all. There was one family dining inside, a couple at the bar, us, and two employees. So, pretty dead. Our server started out pretty good. She explained the menu(it’s a small menu, as oysters would be the main attraction here). We ordered a couple beers and a dozen oysters. There were two types of oysters available, Texas oysters, and Blue Point oysters. There was an upcharge for the Blue Point, but that’s what we usually get and I like them. So, I think the oysters came out to $ 19 a dozen? It didn’t help that when describing the types of oysters the server kept emphasizing that the Blue Points were fresher than the Texas ones. Ew. I hope that all the oysters are fresh, thanks. Our beers came out right away and while we were waiting we decided to move outside to the patio. The outside seating area is pretty cool and we had a nice time sitting outside. The oysters took a bit longer than I expected. When our server brought out the oysters she brought a whole sleeve of saltines, cocktail sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, and lemon. Notably absent was the mignonette sauce listed on the menu. I asked for that, since mignonette is usually my favorite topping. Also missing were silverware, napkins, and plates. When she returned with the sauce I asked for a napkin and she came back with a napkin dispenser. But I guess they don’t do plates/silverware here? So strange. The oysters would have been good, but they weren’t shucked very well. There was a lot of debris in the shell, so that made eating them a challenge. My husband didn’t like the mignonette sauce at all. It was a cucumber and jalapeño mignonette, which is just a little too much going on. I liked it OK, but just a splash of it was enough per oyster. When we were done the other employee brought us our check.(He was the one that was shucking the oysters and he was super nice, so hopefully he’ll get some practice and get better with the oysters.) After he went back inside nobody came back to pick up our check. After waiting about ten minutes we went inside(the now empty restaurant) to pay our bill. This is a cool spot with a lot of potential, but the service just ruined it(which is painful to say, because they seemed really nice). For the price there are way better places for better quality oysters. I don’t think I’ll go back to this one.
