Found this place over 13 years ago when I helped my brother in-law move. I was paid in sushi! Hit all the top rated places & then went back here 3 times in 5 days. Now every time we visit it’s a must. Our kids love it too. Their nigiri is so fresh & butter soft. Also huge… two bites at least. Tons of delish rolls to choose from. Love their miso as well. Some rolls to try: Miami roll, Orlando roll, Winter park roll, Ribbon roll, Seabring roll.

I met Chef ABVIA social media and he had invited me to check out Fuji Sushi. I told him the next time I was having a Sushi attack I would do come by. Friday I let him know I would be by on Saturday for lunch, unaware they open at 4:30 on Saturday, and Chef AB let me know the hours. I told him I would be by and gave him a basic idea of what we like and left it up to him what to serve us. Personally I love being surprised with food. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and saw him standing out out back. After introducing ourselves he told me about himself and the restaurant. I could have chatted with him all afternoon but we all headed inside. Since we were the first to arrive I took advantage of the place being empty and took some pictures before sitting down at the sushi bar. Chef AB let our server know that we did not need menus and he took our drink orders after giving us hot towels to clean our hands. Saki for my wife and Iced Tea for me.(No Lime for my tea) We were brought a bean sprout starter and I really liked it. Fresh sprouts lightly dressed with sesame seeds. Next was a Tuna Roll and the presentation was stunning. Next was a plate of Sashimi Roses. Next was a Sushi Carpaccio. Next was a popular roll I forgot to ask the name of. Next was some Octopus and last was some Sashimi topped with a thin slice of Jalapeño. Let me just say that ALL of them were fresh and delicious. A few of the dishes are things I would not normally order because I am not a huge fan of sushi topped with sauces but that seems to be what is popular with other people. But I have to admit that the Carpaccio won me over. When I first looked at it I was not sure what to think but it had me on the first bite. The Octopus was also a hit with me and flavor wise was a hit with the wife but she does not like the texture of octopus. One of the regulars sat to the left of my wife and others were coming in as we dined. Chef AB seems to have a great rapport with his guests and many seemed to be regulars. The service the others were receiving around us was great and one thing I noticed was the attention to details many other places miss. Starting off with the hot towels for example is something many other places have gotten away from and I don’t understand why. This place is a hit with me and I will definitely be returning. The food and service is a winner and the place has a cozy feel. If you like sushi and want a fun date night, the booths will make dinner a bit more intimate. Now that I have been here I am kicking myself for not stopping by sooner! A Florida Foodie

Pulling into the location I noticed the parking lot was small but it space for parking was not limited. I walked into the restaurant and was greeted by a waiter walking to a table. Inside the restaurant looked like there were two separate dining areas. Each area had tables close to each other and booths lining the walls. My first visit I was seated at a kneeling type table. Our wait staff was prompt and the food was okay. It was tasty but I cant really remember anything I ordered except the avoBomb. My friend who loves this place insisted that we order it because it was the«best». It was different and the taste was good but I was wondering what exactly the fried part was made of. Dipping sauce ALLDAY… The second visit we sat in the booth on the front door side of the restaurant. There was a annoying loud group seated behind our table. They seemed evern closer than they were because they were so damn loud. Uggh. The highlight of this visit was the wasabi! OHMYGAWD~! I always, always, always drench at-least one piece of sushi in the wasabi and eat it to taste it. I love the burning heat as i exhale out my nostrils and when the occipital region of my scalp starts tingling I reach euphoria. This green wasabi sauce pushed me over my limits and I had to box it up and take some home. The tingling traveled from the base of my skull to the frontal region and my eyes waterted for a few minutes after the tingling subsided. I think this was the real deal wasabi and not the horseradish. Bottle and sell this.

Tried this place out last night with my hubby. I’m from the West Coast, Seattle area where they have some of the best sushi. I’ve tried a couple places since I moved here and nothing compares. But this place has hit the spot! I got the rainbow roll and everything about the roll was perfect. The freshness and the way it was put together. I ordered edemame, a little disappointed though, seemed over cooked, was a little mushy. Other than being sat in front of a freezing AC vent, service was great, helpful and friendly. My husband and I were recommended this place by two different couples. We recommend it as well!

This has been my favorite sushi place in all of Orlando! Their Dynamite Roll is AMAZING! You must try! No one makes this roll as good as them! We go here often and every time it has been very good fresh sushi. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. Lots of selection!

Stopped by for lunch with co-workers, we called ahead to reserve a table for 7 because we heard it gets really busy around noon. We had great service and the sushi was delicious! I had the Orlando roll and the Aqua roll, pictured. There wasn’t a single person at our table who wasn’t satisfied with their meal! The portions are generous and the quality is superb. We highly recommend this place and will be back again, hopefully soon!

Good regular go-to sushi place. Pretty good selection and, in my experience, the quality has always been fresh. Service is also always very good and friendly. The décor is extremely dated and the inside is small, which may be a turnoff for some. My only other complaint is that takeout takes an extremely long time. Don’t expect it to blow your mind, but a really good spot for your regular fix.

I have been a fan of fuji sushi for a while now for their specialty rolls and their willingness to substitute things in and out of rolls.(For example, I HATE cream cheese.) Recently however, I’ve been more and more disappointed with the quality and consistency. I keep giving them more chances but the past couple times I’ve ordered my two favorite rolls, the SP and 2011, they’ve been DRENCHED in mayonnaise-based sauces. I almost can’t even taste the fish. Disappointed.

Best sushi we’ve ever had! My husband and I have lived quite a few places now, both raised in the Orlando area though, and everywhere we’ve been, all we can say is, «it’s not as good as Fuji Sushi.» This hole in the wall place is off the beaten track, but also the best sushi ever. We love the dream roll, 2006 roll, polar bear roll(probably our favorite). Once you eat their sushi, no other place will be able to compare! Try at your own risk! ;)

I try fried tofu(aged dashi) at every sushi restaurant I go to and this has been one of the best by far. They serve the tofu cubes placed in a bowl topped with seaweed and fish flakes with a side of warm tempura sauce on the side. Instead of tipping the tofu into the sauce I poured it on the tofu and it was delicious!

I am appalled by this restaurant. This place was close to where I previously lived and thought I’d give it a try. Inside is small, cramped, and musty. We started off with a tuna kobachi. We were asked what level of spiciness we would like and we said extra spicy. It was not spicy ATALL. The weird thing is that the ingredients weren’t mixed in. The tuna was there and on top were the masago and a pile of scallions. We had to toss it all together so the sesame oil and other ingredients could spread around. My SO ordered hot tea. The tea came room temperature. We asked the waitress and she apologize and brought back a new tea pot that was the same exact thing. HUH? It was not remotely hot. One of the rolls I ordered was the rainbow roll. I prefer my rolls clean and simple. The rainbow roll here comes with mayo. I thought it’d be okay but it the mayo was so overwhelming that I did not enjoy the roll at all. A simple and easy roll ruined by mayo. So disappointing. We ordered a few other rolls and were not happy with any of them. We had one volcano roll which was again, overwhelmed with the taste of mayo. It was gross. I do not recommend this place at all.

Fuji is by far the highest quality sushi restaurant around relative to their prices. It is consistently great and they exceed my expectations every time we go.

I’ve passed by this place hundreds of times and finally started coming about 6 months ago. They have so many creative rolls and it’s hard to choose! All are delicious. Tonight I went for two of my favorites, the candy cane and the Lake Mary rolls, and neither disappointed!

First time here and glad to find a decent place near my house! The servers work as a team to clear and clean and refill drinks so that makes for a nice atmosphere. Our server was very chatty and had two specific recommendations for us(SP Roll and the SeaWorld roll). The background music was surprising to me: acoustic versions of top 50. They do a Happy Hour til 6pm for drinks only: bogo on domestic beers and all wines. We got plum wine(a bit sweet for me), Pinot Grigio, and bud light. Our favorite roll is the SeaWorld! Ironically that is where my boyfriend and I met! It’s also super delicious! We also got the 2005 Roll which was very wasabi-ish; if you love wasabi, this is the roll for you! The Louisiana roll was our second fave. We will be back!

I give it 5 stars because I have been here 20+ times(no joke!) and I have yet to be disappointed. The décor is awesome. There’s even booths you can sit with your legs crossed for the Japanese experience or regular tables of course. Rolls are big both with rice and fillings. The Fuji Bomb is the best appetizer to get. Prices are very reasonable for the size of the rolls. Forever my husband and I’s favorite sushi spot.

Heard about this place from a few collegues that they serve huge pcs of sushi — So I decided to check out their lunch menu. The place is located nearby Trader Joes /Wawa and behind Ale House. The parking seemed filled so I was assuming its a popular spot for lunch. Came in and noticed its a cramped small eatery with interesting booths. I decided to check out the lunch menu and Im a sucker for Anything Tempura for lunch. The Shrimp Tempura was at $ 9.95 price that came with Miso soup, Rice, Pre frozen siu mai, an eggroll, Cucumber salad topped with Krab, and the Huge pieces of Shrimp & Veggies! and also 4 huge pcs of CA rolls. I was impressed on the huge pieces of Shrimp and Veggies! And the amount of rice you get with it. The eggroll and siu mai I can tell were not homemade esp the siu mai because Ive bought frozen dumplings before and had homemade dumplings — I can taste the difference. The Calif Rolls were huge pcs but mostly rice! Thats the trick to make you feel fuller — More rice Less filling! I see this all the time at some sushi spots! The cucumber salad was generous — Its soaked in a vinegar dressing topped with Krab meat(faux crab). The tempura sauce was not what Im used to — It was okay and helpful with my Tempura. Seito Sushi still has the best Tempura sauce by far. The Tempura was crispy and coated and fried perfectly! I would come back here and order that with a bowl of rice! Water was filtered and cold. Server gave me the wrong bill and water service and how was I doing part from server was not up par. The sushi chefs here are NOTASIAN btw servers and sushi chef are american but I think back kitchen are Korean basing on the menu I see a few korean eats. I need to try the dinner menu and judge the eats and sevice from there!

In terms of a perfectly average sushi experience, this place is it. Fuji Sushi is on Lee Rd in Winter Park, and is seriously just average in every possible way. The parking is OK, the décor is OK, the food is OK, and the service is OK. When you first walk in, if there are people in the first booth, you feel like you’re intruding on their meal… and from their POV, you basically are(or at least, that’s what I feel anytime I sit in that very first booth…). That first booth has no privacy, despite the floor to ceiling faux-wall. There are three of these little booths on the left, and then regular tables behind 2 little room dividers. There’s a smell when you walk in; it isn’t bad and it isn’t good. It smells clean, but kind of in that medical clean kind of way… not something you’d expect from a restaurant. I mean, it’s great that it smells clean, but I don’t know. maybe I’m weird expecting restaurants to smell like food? Anyway, I’ve had sushi and cooked meals here. It’s not over priced given the size of dishes. Sushi here is good, but I’ve had better(and worse). The cooked meals have always been tasty, but they seem a bit weird about substitutions for things. Hesitant? Reluctant? Whatever, the point is, when I want to order a lunch time Bento Box and I can’t because there’s shell fish with it, it’d be nice to get something I’m not allergic to instead, ya know? The main thing I love about Fuji Sushi is that it’s so freaking close to both my house and my office. And it really is the best Japanese/Sushi offering in the area without being over priced. It isn’t bad… it just isn’t great either. Thankfully, Unilocal let’s me pick that awkward 3-star rating, which is definitely what Fuji Sushi deserves. Way to stay average Fuji Sushi!
