The best pizza around. The crust is always cooked perfectly. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had.

I recently ordered a pizza crispy because often their pizzas can be on the softer side. What I received was a pizza that was burnt to a crisp. Not crispy, not even well done — burnt. The pepperoni was black and shriveled and that familiar pizza aroma had been charred out of it so all I could smell was some kind of unidentifiable burnt substance. I’m flabbergasted that whoever was working this night actually let anything out the door like that. Talk about not caring about your product! Won’t be ordering from there again any time soon.

I noticed the reviews on here are old. I just moved to Winthrop so I don’t know what happened between then and now. Pizza was terrible — the gummy crust, the unseasoned sauce, and the tasteless cheese. We are making the rounds of all the pizza joints in town. Won’t be back.

I ordered a veg pizza with selected toppings. The tomatoes were fresh but it hardly had the onions that I asked for. Got it delivered to the next street in about 30 mins which is a long time actually. All in all, liked the pizza so will visit again!

This place is hit or miss. depending on who’s making the pizza. But when they’re good, they are GOOD! I love the plain cheese or the buffalo chicken pizza as well! It’s a little spicy but still edible and different. The calzones are delicious too, I’ve tried the veggie one and it was delicious. The prices are cheap and it’s good, even when it’s bad.

The pizza was great, reasonably priced. We ordered the specialty pizzas, you know, the chicken parm and buffalo chicken ones? Yeah those, they’re amazing ! So good, can’t wait to go back but next time we will be picking up the pizza. We got it delivered 4 minutes down the road, and it took over an hour to get there!

Perfectly cooked pizza that’s delish! …and they deliver! Perfect! This is an old fashioned pizza parlor. It has not changed since I was a kid and that’s ok with me. You can’t improve on perfect!

Thank god I found a place to get pizza here that is good and I won’t be embarrassed to feed family and friends. I actually was thinking about moving b/c I’ve been so disappointed in delivery food here. I was starting to become complacent with pizza around here and had just be going to the place that delivers on a bike because it was ok. This is better than ok its good, respectable, and a proper pizza. Delivery was early and the pizza was hot. Now i’m gonna have to see if they make buffalo wings and if they do and their good I may just buy a house and stay here. Thank you pizza center for giving me hope for the future of pizza again

Lurve this pizza place. I’m a local, and the woman who owns this place is known as the pizza princess. The started out working there and made it her own when the previous owner left. The pizza is consistently excellent and when the pizza princess herself makes it, is perfect. This pizza is the closest I’ve found yet to a real napoletana base — thin, not crispy like the Rome pizzas, more chewy with a little bite to the crust. Our favorite pizza is a bbq chicken, onion and hot banana peppers. A visiting friend invented the combination and he may have been inspired by the Holy Spirit because the flavor combination is heavenly. You must try it. There’s one booth at the back and a couple of small round outdoor tables out the front; this is really a take-out /delivery place. They do offer a couple of different dishes, but you’re crazy if you come here for anything but the pizza. In the summer, they have slush available for the kiddies and the adults like me who crave kiddie tastes with their pizza on summer afternoons.

Very good pizza! I’m a native New Yorker so that’s saying a lot. It’s definitely the best pizza in Winthrop! The pulled pork pizza is a favorite. So, so good! Crust is perfectly cooked with just a touch of sweetness. Best to pick it up yourself instead of having it delivered, for some reason it always tastes better that way.

Best pizza in Winthrop hands down ! They make a great thin crust new york style pizza. Everyone who works here is friendly and all of the toppings are fresh. highly recommended

We did it — we finally ordered pizza for the first time in our 4 months living in Winthrop. Based on the other reviews, it was no question The Center would be our first stop on our Winthrop pizza tour. The crust was great, the sauce was good, the amount of cheese was perfect. Overall, this was great pizza. Will definitely make this a staple on our speed dial!

Finally after 2 years we did it! We had Pizza Center pizza! Lisa told me about it. It was really good, it had that brick oven crust, but i have no idea really how they cook it. It actually reminded me a bit of Sal’s pizza which I am a huge fan of! The only thing is theyre kind of expensive, for a pizza. While no other pizza is as delicious, at $ 15 for a large(which could probably feed 2 – 3 fatties… and i mean FATTIES aka me.) its a little steep. I mean I will be there again I am sure. The sauce rocks my world. I could drink it. I think they have calzones and 2 salads, but if you don’t want pizza then don’t bother, the specialize in pizza mmmm.

«I want pizza,» I said. «OK, we’ll order some pizza in the second inning.» «No, I want real pizza. You know, New York pizza so big you have to fold it over so the cheese doesn’t scald the roof of your mouth.» «We’re not driving 6 hours to get New York pizza.» I sighed. Then a friend piped up and mumbled something along the lines of «you have to order from the pizza center.» So we did, but I cracked jokes the entire time about how a place could call itself, The Pizza Center. And then, the box came and we opened it and like Jesus carefully and delicately passed wine at the last supper, the almighty Pizza Center pizza was appreciated. Big, floppy, cheesy pieces of delicious goodness were passed around. I will not order pizza on the North Shore from anywhere else.

Growing up in Winthrop, the Pizza Center was where you got pizza. Even with the changes over the years, the pizza has remained the best I’ve ever tasted. Occasionally, my Dad would bring home another place’s pizza… and while I might have eaten it, it was not anywhere near as good. Just remember, if you want the crust all cooked, tell them well done. The usual cheese pizza has a very soft, thin middle. Extra cheese orders especially need to know this. My favorite? Pepperoni/mushroom with extra cheese, well done.

Ever since I was a girl, I have had fond memories of the Pizza Center. I remember my dad taking me there for a slice after my basketball practices. Served piping hot with a glass of soda for a $ 1.25. 20 years later(and a change in owners– miss that Sully) the price has not gone up too much and the pizza is still as delicious as I remembered. Ran in yesterday and got two slices. Put them back in record time. I think it is in the sauce.
