Hogan Tire & Auto Service

I tried Hogan Tire for the first time for a 4-​wheel alignment for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Other places had struggled getting this car aligned on multiple occasions. Hogan got it done, no complaints about rusted front end parts, or trying to sell me new tire rods. Hogan just got it done within specs. Prices are a little higher than other shops, but probably worth paying to get the job done right.

Cold morning, car won’t start. Of course. Luckily I get a jump start, drive to Hogan and figure I’ll wait for my appointment. TBF, I drive a Land Rover. I’m figuring ok, there goes a kidney to replace the battery because everything on the car is expensive. The man comes out, says he has battery, tells me cost… and that’s last I remembered! Guess I passed out it was so much less than I expected! I was in and out in an hour with my oil change. So AWESOME!

I went to Hogan to have them check one of my tires that had a nail.
Two very irritating problems from this visit:
1) The nail was removed but fortunately the nail did not go all the way in to cause a puncture. They said the repair is not necessary. Good, you would think.
Surprisingly, Hogan charged me the full amount of $ 34 for this. They insist that 90% of work was done to check for a puncture. Really? According to Hogan, 10% of work involves removing the tire from the rim, repair, putting the tire back and balancing the tire.
The itemized receipt shows $ 1.98 for taxable material. What material did they use if the repair was not done?
2) The tire expert who worked on my car was in a such hurry that he didn’t fully lower the lift when he tried to pull out the car off the lift arms scraping my car’s undercarriage. It is good that they provide window in the waiting area so you can all see this mayhem in action.
Never again…

My car overheated on 128. When I pulled into hogan tire, they took the car in almost immediately, diagnosed the problem as a busted radiator, and had in repaired in less than 2 hours. Everyone was friendly and professional. I highly recommend

I was at this Hogan tire location for an appointment to have my summer performance tires undergo a Road Force Wheel Balance optimization and installed on the car. I first off want to express how utterly disappointed I am in Hogan tire and their quality of service. I waited 2 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES in their waiting room to have this simple service completed. Upon completion I entered the vehicle and immediately my TPMS warning indicator came on in the vehicle. I entered back into the shop and informed the supervisor that the TPMS light just came on and asked if the adequate amount of air was put into the tires. He came out to the car with me and assured me that the shop had put air into my tires and told me that I needed to reset the indicator in the on board computer and drive a little ways before it went off. I’ve never had this issue before so I was a little wary. I at first took the supervisors comments into consideration and got back into the vehicle. I continued down the road a ways and noticed that something was definitely not right. I keep a tire air pressure gauge in the vehicle so I took it out and measured the tire pressure at each wheel and sure enough the shop employee put NO AIR IN MY TIRES. I am not sure what kind of shop they run at Hogan tire but as tire specialists who forgets to check if they filled the tires with air??? For the safety of me and my vehicle I think this would be a critical service check. I then drove back to the shop so the tires could be filled with air. I could not believe the experience I had with the employees after they flat out lied to me that there was air in the tires after I had confirmed this with them.
I am not sure how Hogan tire has been in business for a 100 years with the quality of service that I received. They will certainly not be gaining my business as a customer again.

I trust Hogan with everything having to do with my car (unless it’s beyond their capacity, which has only happened once… my Ford’s computer battery died). Very honest, patient, and fairly priced.

I went here 2 weeks ago and had all 4 brakes done and a headlight replaced. I found the price to be reasonable and the customer waiting areas comfortable. HOWEVER, as I was driving home today on 95 I noticed the hood of my car was shaking in the wind. I pulled over and found that the hood of my car was not properly closed. I have not been under the hood of my car which leads me to believe that when replacing a headlight they opened the hood and NEVER PROPERLY SHUT IT. I am completely dismayed at this. Total lack of regard for the simplest thing and not only putting my safety at risk, but others as well. I cannot understand how an auto shop employs «mechanics» who simply do not shut the hood of a car; a complete oversight. I will not be returning here and will certainly be letting others know who recommended this place to me. Extremely unhappy and disappointed.

I recently went to Hogan after my mechanic advised me that I might need to replace my tires. I didn’t need to make an appointment, and they quickly diagnosed the 2 front tires as needing replacement. The work took about an hour and fifteen minutes, because they were busy, but it was a comfortable wait – there’s one room with a TV and magazines, and another quiet room with desks where you can set up a laptop and do some work (they offer free wifi – the password is posted in the TV room.) If waiting doesn’t appeal to you there are a number of stores (Lowe’s, Market Basket, Kohls, Post Office) within a five minute walk.
The tires are warrantied– they will replace them if they get flat, up to one year.

I ordered new tires, dropped my jeep off, and it was ready the next day. Some minor miscommunication which caused me inconvenience, but with their prompt service and prices, I’ll most likely be back.

Just returned from yet another great experience at Hogan Tire in Woburn. It’s a busy Saturday and I fully expected to spend much of it waiting to determine the problem with my son’s 19 year old Corolla. I was in and out in a little over an hour, with a new battery. Reasonable prices and fast, friendly service is why I always head here.

Have used Hogan Tire for services ranging from brakes to tire rotations. These guys are knowledgable and very fair on the price. I trust these guys so much I’ve even had my car towed there when it broke down in Dedham.

First time customer, switching over from Town Fair Tire (around the corner). I got tired of TFT’s BS, screw ups and overall attitude towards a customer and decided to try Hogan’s for my tire needs. I rolled in on a busy Saturday afternoon. I felt welcomed, Mike at the front desk made sure everything was done as I asked when it came to winter tire switch-​a-​roo. Clean reception area, nice waiting area and the shop is nice and clean too — always a plus. Tech has done everything well in a reasonable amount of time. I really liked the place and will be coming back for my tire needs.

I have always gone to Hogan Tire to get new tires and the service was always good. But I recently had 4 tires replaced and they screwed up the tire sensors on my car. When I called to to ask if I could bring my car back in for them to take a look, they were very unhelpful and told me I could make an appointment for a week out. Now I’m feeling like the problem they caused is now my problem. I don’t think I will be a loyal customer of Hogan Tire in the future (not that they will give a crap).

Great experience at Hogan Tire in Woburn on Friday. They had plenty of folks working up front. Took my car in very quickly. Gave me lots of info about the condition of my brakes and tires. Very honest assessment that I had another 15K left on brakes and tires. Will be back to Hogan in the future.

I’ve been to Hogan several times to get summer/​winter tires swapped out, so I thought I’d give them a shot when my brakes needed replaced.
That was in May; in late June, while driving my son to camp in Maine, a horrible whine indicated that something was wrong with the brakes. An emergency stop to a local dealer revealed that the «front caliper slides rusted and seized causing brakes to remain on when driving. Right front wheel and brakes overheated.» Removal of the calipers with appropriate cleaning and lubrication fixed the problem, which in the words of the dealership’s mechanic was caused by a bad rush job– the calipers were not lubricated properly upon installation.
I called Hogan and requested a reimbursement for the service which was caused by their inadequate job. Discussion with Eric, the Hogan manager, did not lead to any appropriate resolution. He questioned the diagnosis of the problem– which was ludicrous considering it disappeared entirely upon the dealership’s diagnosis and fix, even with the brakes under the subsequent pressure of descending Mt. Greylock this past weekend! He revealed that they could do nothing beyond their policy (helpfully read aloud by Eric from their policy manual), which was to offer a gift card for future Hogan services. Mmm, yeah, no thanks.
I don’t need more shoddy service even if it’s free, so the offered gift card is of little use to me. I’ll be checking for other vendors of tire and other services.

I don’t generally like mechanics and auto shops. However, these guys are honest enough and will take care of you. They also accept Firestone credit cards.
A horrible credit card, but it is interest free for around 6 months. The catch is you do have to pay interest for the full amount borrowed if you do not pay the entire thing off.
I didn’t need my credit card for this transaction. I got there early since my tire sensor was alerting me their was a problem. They looked over the tire, said it was borderline patch-​able, patched the tire and I was on my way.
A real cheap fix. Thanks for being honest and not taking advantage of people… I would definitely give them a visit.
Oh yeah stay away from Firestone… I do owe that awful place a review…

I had been comparison shopping for my tires, given that they are expensive. My regular auto mechanic quoted me something that was over $ 1k, which was more than I expected to spend. Town Fair Tire (my other tire place) was somewhat better but then I remembered hearing a commercial for Hogan Tires so I looked them up. I (and my bank account) am so glad that I did.
Their website allows you to price out the tires you want, along with the estimated sales tax. The quote given on the website was very close to what I wound up paying ($ 800 and some change). For four good tires, plus labor… that’s quite a deal!
Another major plus is that they have a collaboration with the nearby Enterprise wherein you can reserve a rental car for the day, so your work is minimally impacted. The rep from Enterprise met me at Hogan and gave me the keys to a rental car. I just had to fill out the paperwork and provide a deposit before heading to work.
Hogan was done with my car within two hours. After work, I just went back, dropped off the rental at Hogan, and got my car back. It was a fluid and easy transaction. I appreciated not having to take the day off work, despite having to pay for the rental car.
All in all, I enthusiastically recommend Hogan Tires to everyone now!

I hate tire places. Honestly, given the choice between having a tooth filled or a tire changed, I’d probably opt for the former. The tooth would be cheaper and much faster.
With that said, I had a fine experience here. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything other than their usual road hazard warranty and they didn’t pull the usual «this is a four wheel drive car» stuff on me. They offered to replace only one tire and I pushed them to do two, at the recommendation of my mechanic.
The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is that it took about two hours, which is slightly painful.

RUDE… When I went into ask for an estimate, the person waiting on me was extremely rude and dismissive of my request for the brand and type of tire I wanted. It was your typical «I am a man and I know better» chauvinistic rhetoric. Additionanly, he tried to push tires that were almost double the price for my 10 year old corrolla, which has fared quite well will the goodyears I have had for…10 years!
My advice… stay away unless you like getting bullied and belittled. Seems they need a major attitude adjustment, or they are just doing so well in this economy that they don’t need customers!

I’ve been going to Hogan for about two years now and overall I am very happy with the service and quality of repairs and maintenance. The team at the Woburn center is real good and they try to give you a good deal. Also, I am very appreciative that they never try to upsell you or pressure you into getting something you don’t need. Hard to picture an honest mechanic but thats what these guys are!
They compete with online prices which is a HUGE plus and they have a lot of good deals to help you get through the repairs. I have never had to go back to get something fixed twice.
Its difficult for me to give them a perfect rating because they are a car shop but they are pretty damn good. Oh, and I’m one of those folks who shops around, a lot.
