The only thing this place has going for it is the menu. The appearance is a little dirty and the service could be much better. The food has potential, but is offset by lack of quality service. Oftentimes they have high school kids waiting on you who are pretty lackluster with friendly & helpful customer service skills — and no, I am not some old fogey who yells at kids to get off my lawn. I worked a lot when I was in high school, and busted my tail to provide customers with good service, and I learned good values from it.

Awesome menu. Come early because they run out of ingredients. Other than that it world be 5 stars. Nice area to sit out back.

Extensive, interesting menu. Tasty food and fair prices. Friendly staff. However, the place is truly filthy. They need to close for a week and do a massive cleaning.

Great place to stop and grab lunch on a cold day. Lots of parking, easy to find, friendly staff. I had the chicken piccata with cream of broccoli soup. It was nicely done, soft chicken, light breading, great flavor. Not greasy. For the price, the portion size was just right. The soup was piping hot and had a home made taste. They even have large cookies, soft baked. Overall, a solid meal for the price.

This place is really solid. I got a chicken cutlet on a grinder and a few stuffed peppers. The bread is very good and the chicket cutlet was very good also. Overall, this place is pretty solid.

Fantastic. Great food, reasonable prices, and darling staff. Plus there’s picnic tables out back where you can enjoy your food! I’ll def be back next time I’m in the area.

Had a grilled chicken with avocado, hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese with cooked onions and lettuce tomato, little bit of mayo on a portuguese roll. Chicken was sliced thin and onions were perfect. This is a good lunch spot. Hands down one of the best in the area. I also had a small macaroni and cheese.

This place is great if you are passing through the CT trust me I live down the street from there, they have delectable sandwiches made from all fresh ingredients and made to perfection at a fair price. One recommendation I would make is a breakfast sandwich, specifically bec on white bread, the secret to this one is peppered eggs.

New owners have already turned the Blue Check around. Great food, nice people, really good service. Home made food and good desserts. Also, wonderful breakfast sandwiches, too. Our kids loved it. We will go back often.

You know… Something about this deli. They simply make the best subs. I’ve been going there since high school when we would sneak out of Amity by skirting the gates on a motorcycle and head down for lunch. Love the pepperoni and cheese bulkie. Great place that hasn’t changed much since the 80’s :)

This place was very dirty looking and run down. To say it lacked décor would be an understatement. I had been here years ago, but I don’t recall it being in such a state of disrepair. The staff had had a long day and were in less than polite spirits. They ran out of rolls and made me a sandwich on white bread instead and still charged me full price. The cranky counter staff was unfamiliar with the vegetarian options and it wasn’t until after I ordered that I found some obscure reference to a few probably very good vegetable sandwiches. I enjoyed my chicken salad nonetheless.

Great deli, sandwiches are fresh with quality ingredients and the pasta salads are super good. 2 sandwiches, 2 pasta salads and 2 drinks, all for $ 5 more then we would spend at subway.

Is Vinnie Esposito still grabbing at the female help and cheating on his wife in between making sandwiches? Maybe she dumped the pig by now.

Blue Check never disappoints. Their sandwiches are generously portioned, to say the least, and are always delicious. They have a good range of items on their menu — from their signature subs to deli salads, everything is fresh and delicious. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. They recently added oven baked pizza to their menu which is really delicious if you like a crispy crust. My favorite pizza is the Buffalo Bomb — chicken cutlet with jalapeño peppers and horseradish mayo. Blue Check is always a good bet.

This place is pretty great, in terms of subs its really up there. The interior is drab and small, its totally a take out kind of place, but the subs are fantastic and reasonably priced, worth checking out for sure.

Blue Check is one kick ass deli. They aren’t gourmet at all, but what they do is make great sandwiches and excellent prepared foods. It’s pretty much an Italian style deli, so expect a lot of good cold cuts, antipasto, etc. Their breakfast sandwiches are truly awesome. They can kind of be gut busters, but once a year or so it’s worth it if you ask me. Yeah, it’s a little small, and a little expensive, but, hey, it’s a locally owned deli that’s near and dear to most of us who grew up around it. If you’re ever near the New Haven/Woodbridge border during the day, definitely stop in and grab a sandwich(but not Sundays, as they are closed).
