This place has average food. Don’t waste your time if you’re hoping for them to get your order right. The service sucks. Management is young and about as responsive as a cold corpse. We used to go here every time we wanted a quick Mexican fix because they were close to our house. But every time we went they screwed up our order or our bill or both on a few occasions. We’ve never had a meal here where they didn’t screw up. The food isn’t good enough for us to keep going back since they obviously don’t care about their customers.

Average food that’s over priced. The rice was as bland as stone chips and the beans straight out of the can. The hostess could not communicate where the bathroom was. The only thing authentic in that place was their thick Spanish accents.

What the heck is up with this place? We walked in and had to wait to be seated because the person in front of us was placing a take-out order there at the front stand. We had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the guy in front of us to look at the menu, ask questions about each dish, and try to make a decision on what he wanted for his take-out order. They guy running the front desk looked at us apologetically, but not once did he try to seat us until the guy completed his order… So we were finally seated and a girl brought us some chips and salsa, where were OK. By then we sat there for a half an hour with NOONE coming to take our order!!! We got up and left with no one on the staff even noticing.

It’s not high class Tex mex but it suites the bill for a quick dinner. Been here with the family or just with the wife if we want to grab a few drinks and not have far to get home. Not a ton of options in Lakeridge without going near the mall so this will work. Haven’t tried too many things on the menu but the staples are good. Service is hit or miss depending on the server.

I always get the chicken fajitas and they are always good! The lunch prices are good and the happy hour drinks are reasonably priced.

Awful, Awful, Horrible, Horrible service from Mauro B!!! If I didn’t have to tip I wouldn’t have. Food was not bad, besides my wife under cooked scallops, and my girls soggy nachos. Margaritas where good, yet small and the service was Awfully Horrible! Save some money and get better service and bigger margaritas at El Paso on Smoketown Rd. Oh did I mention the service was Absolutely Horribly Awful!!. Thanks Mauro B!!! :-/

Ugh this place is mediocre at best, it’s trying too hard and failing. The food sucks. The service isn’t all that. I wouldn’t bother even going in to be honest. Not pleased.

Overall: Good food and decent restaurant level prices. Ambiance was very stereotypical Mexican with bright colors and festive décor. Staff was usually nice, the bar tenders & servers are much more friendly than the restaurant servers IMO, but perhaps drunk people tip better. haha I have never seen it full and 2⁄3 times the service was fast. There are coupons online and by the front register for free dishes or a percentage off your meal that can be used at any time so take advantage of that. Would & have, recommended this place. I was given the wrong order my first visit in and the waitress didn’t want to own the mistake and suggested that the beef in my dish may have been well done chicken. o_O fortunately I ended up liking the beef anyways and didn’t argue the point but still there was only three parties of 2 in the whole restaurant mid day on a Thursday so there was no reason to mess up the order and then deny it. Other than that everyone was nice. As a San Diegan I was expecting sub-par quality Mexican food or the dreaded Tex-Mex being this far northeast but after 3 visits here the flavor in all the dishes we have tried has been excellent, portions typical of a restaurant– but easily a fraction of the size I would pay for at half the price back home. Some dishes seem authentic but then there are things like the chimichanga which looks more like a flauta or enchilada covered in American white cheese? Far from authentic but still tasty. All the side dishes were great, the carne asada is definitely my favorite. Try the fresh guacamole– it’s amazing! Margaritas were delicious and packed a punch. Tonight we sat on the bar side(separate from the restaurant by glass doors) in time for Karaōke(Saturdays 9pm) which was well, a bunch of people over 60 singing songs from the 80s badly but with much enthusiasm. It was strange that what appeared to be the staffs family were on the bar side with 3 children under the age of 5 screaming and running through the bar dancing(cute i might add) while tipsy drunks sang and their parents sat in the booth sloppy drunk occasionally getting up to dance with them. Nothing ruins an adult night out and a potential buzz more than screaming toddlers in a bar and then wondering who in this drunk party is driving them home? Had it not been for that I’d have given them 5 stars.

I think this is the best Mexican Restaurant around the Woodbridge area. The Carna Asada is amazing and def worth the $$$.

2 visits recently with family. We all enjoyed our picks from menu. Ate outside for 1, but a bit strange to be right on the driveway thru the parking lot. Server the same for both visits — he has the biggest smile! Service is not always fast but polite, yet I have never seen the manager smile.

Extremely slow service, overpriced and bland bland bland food. The«manager» Alex is extremely rude. We have witnessed him have several confrontations with guests and he is condescending and rude every single time. Don’t dare complain about a wrong order or he will treat you like he’s doing you a favor by allowing you to dine in his restaurant. On one occasion, my food was greasy, cold and disgusting. The waitress took it off my bill. I cashed out and after I left, the manager tried to force the rest of my party to pay for my uneaten and returned meal. Be aware if you have even one drink or food special on your bill, you may or may not be able to use a coupon. We had 3 regular priced dinners and one beer special and were not allowed to use our coupon. It depends which server or manager you have. They put out lots of coupons but try not to honor them. We have been there on numerous occasions due to a friend who loves the margaritas and fajitas. Everytime we have joined her, I have been extremely disappointed. The salsa is bland, the chips usually taste like dirty fryer oil, the steak fajitas were greasy, tough and not served with cheese or pico, the chorizo quesadilla was very greasy. The only food I’ve tried that was worth eating was the Mexican jambalaya or a steak covered in shrimp and scallops. The steak dish is hit or miss though, sometimes the shrimp and scallops are over cooked and rubbery. The frozen margaritas are tasty and strong. I typically order a margarita and watch everyone else eat. The only bright spot in service is the bartender Susan. She is quick and very personable. The women’s bathroom is in complete disrepair. One of the toilets is missing a top, it’s filthy and stinks. I would much rather dine at On The Border or El Paso. My last experience was my final. I will not return, even for the margaritas.

We have been here a few times and have always been happy! Love the fajitas, the carnitas, black beans, and the chicken nachos with plenty of creamy white queso! We ordered the chicken nachos and added shredded lettuce and tomato as an appetizer and were very happy. My grandson was thrilled with his fried ice cream! The décor is MEXICAN! Service prompt and friendly. I will be back for karaōke on a Friday night, we will see!

Love the chimichangas deluxe, get it every time always satisfied. Went in for a margarita one time and accidentally stumbled upon drinking bingo with the awesome host Travis. I’ve grown busier these days so I can’t go as often but with happy hour margaritas and free chips and salsa that was my absolute favorite place to go eat. They’ve got a patio which is nice and seem to have switched up ownership or something, little changes here and there but the food and service haven’t changed and that’s what I love. Best Mexican place here in Woodbridge.

Went with the family for Saturday night dinner. Food was bland and substandard. Nothing to write home about. Service was even worse than the food. Our server screwed up two out of three of our orders and was very inattentive, almost nowhere to be seen. Couldn’t even find our server to pay our tab.

We’d tried them in the past and they were pretty bad. However since we saw the signs that they were under new management and we live fairly close we thought we’d try the bar again and see how their margarita’s and lunch fare were. The bartender was almost non-existent so we decided to skip the food and just get drinks. Now this is critical and really all I think needs to be said… the ‘bartender’ used a ladle to scoop our drinks from a 5gal plastic container that was in the bar. Yes. that’s right — he SCOOPED our drinks from a plastic bucket that was on the floor, added a straw and served them up. lol. it’d be funny if it wasn’t so sad. From our last visit where I was told that it’s ‘standard to serve tacos directly from the microwave and just have to let them cool before you pull off the aluminum foil’ to this visit. I don’t see that much has changed.

We visited as a work lunch group… Food was just ok. Portions are too expensive and small for what you get. Rice has not much flavor. Salsa is too«oniony» and watery. Service wasn’t great, in fact we hardly got any. Not sure how this place stays in business when there are other, smaller, «authentic» Mexican restaurants close by who serve bigger portions for half the price and are happy to give great service.

Had the beef quesadillas… Instead of feather cheddar or Chihuahua cheese. Their using a white American melt. No where near texmex or authentic. Don’t waste your time:)
