Moe’s Southwest Grill

I love the food and have gone here quite a bit in the past. Lately, it seems like they are under poor management. A few months ago when I was there an employee was complaining the entire time and the manager did not remove her from the service area. Last week I was in there for lunch on a tuesday or wednesday. First thing that caught my attention was that the server was chewing (chips I think) right on the service line. Then he just seemed super slow. Then they were out of the corn salsa stuff (at around noon). They said they had just made the corn but it was cooling in the back, then were shocked when I asked for the hot corn on my burrito. I’m sure I’ll go back but I’m going to wait a while to see if they change management.

Three strikes — you’re out! It pains me to write this review as we are lacking in restaurants in the Hoadly area and I love me some Mexican but I will never visit store again. Every time I have gone, the service has been terrible and unprofessional. I have seen manager there that shows the service. Today I went in because I wanted chips and salsa. Easy and quick, right? WRONG. I walk in and instantly hear MOES screamed out by an angry employee which is par for the course. I go straight to the counter because there is no line and there are 2 employees cleaning. They do not acknowledge me, continue cleaning and carry on with their conversation which was not work related. I stood there for 5 MINUTES and they still did acknowledge me I awkwardly stood there in front of them. Save your money. I’m excited see what goes into their space once they finally screw themselves over for the last time.

Good service, tasty food. Monday’s special is great.

I used to eat at this location a couple of times a month when it first opened and it was consistently good. Six years later I am back in the area for work, so I had lunch there today. I showed up a little after 12:30 and every single customer in the store was in line and not yet at tables eating. There were three employees – two preparing food and one running the register. The food preppers were definitely doing their best. They were working as quickly as they could, but because they were short staffed, ready-​to-​eat food was sitting between five and ten minutes until the customers could get it and pay. Periodically the food preppers threw chips in a basket, ladled out some cheese or guac into a cup, added the no-​longer-​fresh food, and walked it personally to the cashier who needed a run down of what was ordered. It was a totally inefficient operation. I waited in line for 12 minutes. My nachos sat, waiting to be paid for, behind a family of four also waiting to pay for food in this weird little purgatory, for 7 minutes. 7 minutes does not do good things for nachos. Moe’s, you’re going to obsolete yourself. As a fan since 2002, I’m kinda sad.

The wait was entirely too long and they ran out of RICE (a key ingredient in all burritos) once I was just about to order. How do you not have the forsight to make more rice when you are running low and the line is out the door!

My daughter and I visit Moe’s in Manassas often. We enjoy the food and the manager is so nice and friendly. He inquires on how our food is and the service, we always answer great!

I love moes, but won’t be returning to this location. The quesadilla taste like it was made hours ago and has since gotten soggy (it’s only about 10 minutes old), quesso taste really bland for moes and the sweet tea wasn’t good.

Excellent service with a smile by all employees, even with a complicated order. They made sure we got everything right! At the end, my husband thought he ordered a drink, but didn’t. They «gave him the pickle» and handed him a cup at no charge (I’m guessing because we dropped $ 50 on dinner). The food was fantastic! The spicy chicken was great and the steak was cooked fresh. Even had some chips and queso to go. Highly recommend this place, even about 2 hours before close, which is when we went. The one in Silver Spring sucked… This place redeemed Moe’s!!!

Cute and clean but I wasn’t too impressed with their food. Not as filling as I hoped it would be. Baja Fresh is way better than this place and I think they’d fall on an equal comparison level. So Baja Fresh is way better.

I just left Moe’s… I can’t believe what I just experienced. The guy making my burrito wrapped it horribly. I asked him to fix it and he did by getting a new tortilla and the poured the contents of the old burrito to the new burrito. YUCK! And the he wiped his hands on his shirt and wrapped the burrito. So as I head to chipotle… I know I will NEVER come by here. Just yuck… YUCK. Ewww. U get my point. See u at Chipotle.

Welcome to Moe’s! I came to Moe’s for lunch and can say I had a less than ok experience. The food seemed uninviting and mediocre at best. The customer service was good for the most part, but they seemed to have a hard time putting the order into the cash register. When we got the food it was bland and/​or burnt. The whole restaurant looked like they needed a deep cleaning and improvement. The Coke Freestyle Machine seemed to be unresponsive and it made a long line at certain points. I can’t really pick out a good thing about this restaurant except that when I came it there was plenty of parking spots around the restaurant and the line was minimal until I came in! If you can deal with bland and burnt food, then by all means walk right in! But if you want taste to your food you would be better off at a Chipotle, Qdoba, a CA Tortilla, or some other Moe’s.

Definitely a warm welcome upon arriving, was greeted the moment my daughter and I stepped in. This is my second time in this place and all I can say is Wow, The 2 guys in the red shirts were very active and kind they made my daughter who is 5yrs old laugh. A very nice experience.. I give this one 5 stars. Great in customer service.

The food is good but I’m afraid to go in here because of the staff. On two occasions staff have been throwing temper tantrums and slamming things. After I was finished with my last meal there I went up to the counter and asked for a bag and the girl just threw it at me and looked away. I don’t really know what’s going on here but these people need to learn how to not take it out on their customers. They really should just get rid of everybody and replace them with people who actually want to work.

Expect a friendly greeting every time you open the door. The food is good and the customer service is too.
They are always consistent on all fronts.
The last time I was there, the gentleman behind the counter made it clear during our conversation that he was there to serve me with anything that I needed. Good customer service goes a long way with me.
I’ve never had a bad meal here and there are tons of drink options.

My first ever visit to any Moe’s. All I can say is EXCELLENT! The staff, food, facility! Very pleased with the freshness of the vegetables. I had nachos with chicken, which was moist & had a great flavor by itself. Staff checked on us frequently. Spic & span clean!

We really enjoyed the taco salads here! Food was very fresh, staff very friendly and restroom was very clean! Café style selections and they basically let you pick from a great assortment of toppings to include grilled onions, green peppers and even mushrooms! How could you not live this! Fast in and out! Tip for staff: wipe seats better – esp. The sides from the kiddies spilling. Thanks for a fresh, healthy meal!

I like Moe’s. I really do. The food is just as good, if not better, than Chipotle and the line is usually not an issue.
This issue I have with this place is the cleanliness. The tables are normally dirty and I have to clean myself, which I don’t really care if the place is busy. There are only so many on staff and people want their food. No problem. But, there is almost always at least one staff member hanging out doing nothing.
The worst problem is when they actually do clean the tables, they «clean» with a dirty, sour rag that doesn’t look, not smell, as if it has ever been cleaned.
The rag leaves a horrible smell on the tables that resembles a back alley in the city after a wild night of too much drinking, puking, and random dark alley sex.
None of this I want up my nose when I’m trying to kill off a burrito bowl.
Clean the place up, Moe’s. And, get some new cleaning supplies before you do.

Stopped by this afternoon to get some Moe’s and the serving area was horrible. Containers not full, beans looked crusty and dry! I asked what happen and he said they’ve been busy. NO EXCUSE in my book because I go to Moe’s in DC during lunch and that is BUSY, but things are always clean. Needless to say, I changed my mind today.
This location better step up their game because people don’t have to pay hard earned money for sub-​par meal. I’ll drive the other way and buy from their competitor.

There are a few things that Moe’s has going for them
–Very friendly employees, they always welcome customers when they walk in
–Frees chips and salsa
–Discounted burritos Monday
–They also seem to have a strong focus on the community
Unfortunately all of this doesn’t make their food taste any better.
The rice is very dry, the steak is extremely bland, and the few times I have gotten chicken, it has been burned. Literally the only reason why I go there is if it is Monday, and there is nothing else to eat.
On the upside, they recently got a pretty cool soda machine.
Overall, just don’t expect to much from them.
