Went to have some Cuban food with my Cuban fiancé yesterday. 6pm on a Sunday and it was quite empty. Other reviewers talked about atmosphere but nothing to note in this regard. There was only one server who didn’t smile at all. We had Croquetas de Jamon, Lechon Asado(Roast Pork) and Pollo al Ajillo(Seared Chicken). He really liked the croquetas saying these were really authentic. He has missed these since he moved to PNW from Florida. But he says $ 6 for 3 croquetas is way too overpriced. Lechon Asado was more like pork ropa vieja than roasted pork. Was it roasted or stewed? The chicken breast was butterflied and pan seared. I liked the citrus flavor but the chicken was just thin and dry. The food there may be authentic but not impressive at all. Sometimes you need to have«twists» on authentic food to meet expectations of rather foodie crowd of Woodinville or you can stick to being authentic to please the Cuban community in the eastside(how many of them live here?). My Cuban fiancé can make way better Lechon Asado and black beans.

This place has excellent food. If you are into it, they also have cigars and such too.

Live music on a Saturday night — great fun! The food seemed pretty good but we enjoyed the late night service, live music + cold drinks.

There was nothing like this when we lived in Woodinville in the 90s! Service was good. I always try Ropa Vieja on the first visit to a Cuban restaurant as a test dish and Twisted Cuban’s was tastier than most. The same was true for the other dishes our party tried. It’s a new favorite for us to meet friends at.

Outstanding Cuban food! We ordered the frittas, the Cuban sandwich and the Lechon Asado(roasted pork). My husband, who frequents Miami often and loves the Cuban food there, and I both LOVED the Lechon Asado! Amazingly full of flavor. We ended the lunch with a flan, which was ok, and Cup of Cuban coffee. Very good. We would drive from West Seattle to have this quality of Cuban food again. The waitress, who was a previous customer, was very friendly and very knowledgable.

Great, authentic hidden gem. A real Cuban feel to the whole place and the food is amazing! My roommate’s took me and my boyfriend after a day of wine tastings and then we took our parents after a day at the winery as well. it’s really close to the wine spots, so after a day if tastings and the upper class atmosphere, this is a perfect place to wind down and relax. The staff has only been friendly and the service is wonderful. I noticed there are a lot of complaints that the service is too slow but honestly, Everytime I go here, ive never had a excruciating long wait. And so what if it takes a few extra minutes? Perfection cannot be rushed and that’s exactly what my experience with the dishes here are– perfect. The cocktails here are really delicious here as well, especially if you like them strong! I have every intention of hitting this spot Everytime I’m in the woodinville area. and sometimes even if I’m not! It’s always worth going out of my way for!

The food is great but the service is very poor!!! They take a very long time for the food to be deliver. i would understand if the place was crazy busy but my friend and I were the only one in the entire restaurant at 2pm.

The food here is amazing. I shared the spicy beef sandwich and empanadas and both of us left full. Some of the best tasting food I’ve had in a while. The staff is very friendly and the owner works alongside employees serving customers — he’ll stop for a minute to chat with you if you talk with him. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other dishes that looked good.

Quite impressive, do you like cigars and fun atmosphere? The owner and staff at this place are awesome. I suggest checking out the weekly events schedules Saturday evenings in the warm summer are a great place to start.

I had stomach cramps until 3am the following morning. Got so food poisoned :( Also, we had a 2-year old on the table and the waiter brings everyone else’s drink first. Child starts crying, we ask server to bring water for child. He brings our food instead. Child even more upset now. Knocks over my Mojito and I am soaking wet. Desperately looking for napkins, take one from a neighboring table to dry myself. Waiter gets angry for taking other table’s napkin. really people?

Went here looking for some good Cuban food but was not impressed. Sandwiches are just ok and are way overpriced IMO. Sandwich had very little meat. Slso had the sampler plate and was disappointed. Flavorless and bland. Worst part was 2 sandwiches and the sampler came to around $ 45! Skip this place and head to paseos. This place doesn’t even compare.

Surprised my wife by taking her to the Twisted Cuban Café & Bar today, and we both really like the food, and the atmosphere. I ordered the Twisted Cuban sandwich and found it fantastic. Next time I think I will try the Monster Cuban which adds spicy beef to the same sandwich. I took a half star for the parking(not easy to get in and out because of traffic), and another half star for the frozen yuca fries. While still tasty, they were obviously frozen and it tasted like it. But other than the fries, the food was fantastic, and I will definitely be returning for some more of the great food.

This place is ok. I thought the food was going to be better. In all honesty if you want good Ropa Vieja go to La Isla Puerto Rican restaurant in Redmond. It’s the third best I have ever had. The second best is at Wajiros in Miami and the best is my mommas. Also, they didn’t have a cortadito. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and it was alright, would have been better with Cuban bread. I was super excited to eat here too; but overall it was disappointing. Chances are I will not go back there.

I ordered the turkey sandwich with polenta fries. The sandwich was juicy and flavorful. The polenta fries were really hard. I think they were a bit over cooked. Service was great! It was a nice cozy place for lunch but a bit steep in price.

Crappy place. Everything, and I mean everything, was bad. Except the water. From the hard yucca fries and the sad excuse for a corn fritter to pork so hard that throwing it at someone might result in their instant death to the mixed veggies that were at best a poor after thought, this was a lousy decision to go waste a nice Saturday eating there. One of our group also got an allergic reaction to the food(an hour or so after we fled the restaurant). Never going back here, obviously.

I’m reviewing the twisted Cuban sandwich. I picked this thing up for lunch. Place was crowded when I walked in, and reviews online were great so I was excited. This sandwich is perfect for someone who is really drunk, OR the sandwich pile at the local QFC here in Canyon park. What a disaster this thing is. Completely dry, cheapest possible white bread, zero flavor, and it cost 14 dollars. The fries were as hard as a rock. At this price point, this is the worst meal I’ve had in my life.

Always a tasty meal here. The yucca fries are no longer prepared as pictures show, just regular fries. But this place hits the mark on taste, although service is not as spectacular.

Delicious! The pollo al ajillo was moist and very tasty! I give it 4 stars because everything was a tad bit too salty for my taste, especially the beans, and it’s a little pricy. I highly recommend. Especially if you want to take yourself out on a lunch date, it’s a comfortable and friendly environment.

Greeted by the server, Antonio into a very cozy, quaint restaurant. The music makes you want to dance!(There is dancing every other Saturday night from 9−1am.) I think some might enjoy the selection of Cuban cigars, too! Starting off with Frituras de Maiz(corn fritter), Sopa del Dua(pork stew), E salads de garbanzos, Pollo all Ajillo, Ropa Vieja(Cuban style shredded beef)… And dessert. a house made Cuban Flan. Love the corn fritters! Food was a little salty for me, but that’s me! It was tasty!

I’ve never tried Cuban before so this was a treat. I had the Pollo al Ajillo. It had a light lemony flavor and was delicious. I’ll definitely be going back again. The black beans weren’t very warm(maybe that’s how they’re supposed to be?) nor flavorful but the rice was terrific. I generally don’t eat fried food but the waiter encouraged me to try the maduros. I’m glad I did. They were delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Wow. I had the Twisted Cuban Sandwich(Just a traditional Cuban Sandwich) but it was UNREAL! The pork was SO juicy and full of flavor, the bread was perfect, everything about this sandwich from beginning to end was fantastic. The service was great, nice and friendly staff and fast too. I will certainly be back again and again!

I grew up in Miami a few miles from Little Havana So I feel I know Cuban cuisine. This Is as close as your can get and not be in Cuba or Miami. The black beans soup was good, could have been a little thicker. The Cuban Sandwich Was as good as you’ll find outside of South Florida, no one seems to be able to make real Cuban bread. I had the picadillo empanadas that were outstanding. They also nailed the sweet plantains. The service was quick and friendly. The décor was very nice and reminded me of my roots in Miami. I will come here often.

Yucca fries: Must get. Cooked perfectly. Spicy Margaritas: satisfying pairing to go with the rich and scrumptious food. Monster Cuban Sandwich: tender meat, crunchy buns, and comes with Yucca fries. It hit the spot.

Sadly I have to downgrade my rating from my most recent experience here. Service is usually spotty here which I can deal with, but the last visit’s food was disappointing. I got the spicy beef like I always do, but instead of it being the usual sandwich it was instead the Cuban sandwich with some spicy beef thrown on top. It seemed as though the chef made the wrong one and just threw some beef on top. I wouldn’t normally have minded this, but the waitress didn’t even look at me when I ordered(she was staring across the room) and she brought both me and my husband glasses of wine when only I ordered a drink. She also didn’t offer us any water. I can deal with not being asked if the meal is satisfactory, or a less than enthusiastic server because we all have bad days, but the combination of that and the meal left a sour taste. I probably won’t be going back.

Oh man. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately our experience was not an enjoyable one. It was lunch time on a Sunday and we were the only people at the restaurant(usually not a good sign). It was nice out, so we decided to eat on the«patio» which is a parking lot ten feet from a busy road. The waiter seemed completely uneducated on the menu. My boyfriend asked what yuca fries were and the waiter responded, «a root». Really? That’s it? Nothing about the flavor or the texture or similar foods? Oh I love roots, I’ll get that! Anyway, when our food finally came, which took quite a while considering there was no one else there, it was completely lackluster. I ordered the garbanzo bean salad and it was drenched, but yet had no flavor. It also looked like every ingredient, minus the lettuce, was from a can. My boyfriend got the Cuban and he had asked for no pickles(yeah, he’s crazy). He took one bite and could tell tree had been pickles on it, and then taken off, because there was pickle juice on the bread and the second half of the sandwich still had one, lonely pickle on it. Also, I love Cuban sandwiches and this was not good. Very disappointing. Not only is the food bad, but the price is outrageous. I would skip this one.

We had a Groupon and made reservations for Sunday evening. There was only one couple at the restaurant and we were seated right away. The bartender/waiter came over and took our drink order and we decided to order a few appetizers. Once the appetizers were brought out that was the last of our quick service. Apparently talking to an employee eating at the bar is way more important than waiting on his two tables. We had to flag our waiter down to take our order and then he didn’t even notice our empty drink and water glasses. Once our meals arrived finally, the food was barely Luke warm. The food was mediocre at best but had it been served hot it would have been better. I don’t know if the food sat in the back while our server was chatting with his coworker or if it was just reheated and warmed up. I thought the food was bland and the portions were somewhat small. I’m glad I had a coupon because the total bill was almost $ 130.00 for bland food and terrible service. I normally give a place another chance if I have a bad experience because every restaurant can have an off night or be so busy they can’t keep up with the rush. But this was not a busy night and the server just didn’t seem to care. I can think of way better restaurants I’d rather visit and drop $ 130.00 dollars at.
