My favorite Sushi place ever… Although it is much different now that Sammy has moved on. I think he is now in Vent/Oxnard working as a chef.

We ordered a baked salmon roll and the entire thing fell so we ordered another and they never cleaned up the spilled roll and charged us for HALF of the spilled roll! Unbelievable.

Absolutely the worst sushi you can have in the valley Avoid at all costs, its not worth it and the fish is far from fresh… felt sick after eating there

I had the AYCE for dinner. When I order sushi I stick to mainly sushi and hand rolls. I don’t order the special rolls. The rice to sushi ratio is just right. They don’t overload it with a bunch of rice and barely any sushi. The Mackerel, eel, scallops, salmon egg, smelt egg, and salmon were good. Tasted fresh The albacore however was terrible. It looked like it just came out of the freezer and was the blandest albacore I’ve ever had. For the hand rolls, I had the salmon skin, spicy scallop, philly and eel rolls. All of which were delicious. There’s a good variety of appetizers. I had dynamite, shrimp tempura and mussels. They give you a lot of dynamite and it comes with rice, so be careful if you don’t think you can’t finish it because they’ll charge you. They don’t have uni(sea urchin) which is my favorite so that was disappointing. The staff is friendly and fast, no complaints there. Other than the fact that they do not have Uni and their albacore was terrible, it was great.

I have to agree — this is the WORSE Sushi place in the Valley… I really wanted to give them a good review so I sat in the Bar and took the«ALLYOUCANEAT» and ordered over 20 different dishes… almost anything they had except a few I know I don’t like. In one word: BAD ! In two words: Real BAD ! In three words… well, you get the point. I didn’t even like their Spicy Tuna, which I always do… Everything was BORING and PLAIN — nothing tasted FRESH… I had one piece of every dish as I just did not feel like eating more than one. It just did NOT taste good enough to take another bite… never happened to me before. SERVICE was bad as well — the Chef just didn’t want to give me what I wanted… I took the menu and I told him clearly«I want everything on that section except those 3» that I showed him. «You want those 3?» — «NO !! Everything EXCEPT those 3» I replied. «Just tell me what you want !» — he said — I replied«EVERYTHING — except this & this… «… «I cant do that — What you want ?» — I said«fine… let me read it to you… I want Albacore Sushi… I want… «- he didn’t even let me finish and left… started making me the Albacore sushi. So, it’s one by one… I figured. Better write it down — and I wrote him all the ones I wanted — I gave it to him– he took it & started making them. BUT still did NOT make them all… only the ones he WANTED to… what gives ?!? Then after 6 dishes he came again & asked — is that enough? Can I stop now ? We just started I replied — didn’t I give you a LIST ?? why don’t you stick to it ? Very confusing service. The worse I ever got. Not as worse as the Sushi though… This is the WORSEBYFAR«All You Can Eat Sushi» I have ever been to — a WASTE of money and time — I will NEVER go back there again ! I mean, even the Salmon sushi was bad… how bad do you need to be in order to ruin a piece of salmon ?!? when did you buy the fish — last year ?!?

This place is my boyfriend’s favorite spot for sushi, and after tagging along with him a few times, I understand why! Henry is the best — we choose to sit in his section each time and he is always so accommodating. I can’t go anywhere else, as now I have a favorite and nothing compares.

Wonderful appetizing all-you-can eat sushi selection. There’s a variety of rolls to match any palette — sweet to spicy to baked. Service was efficient and courteous

There all you can eat special is what I love about this sushi restaurant! I stuffed myself for an entire hour. I wish we could take the left overs home but I didn’t have much left anyway. I am always greeted with a smile. I live a bit far from this place yet I think it’s worth the long bus ride.

This place is beyond bomb. We had Henry take care of us. Unique rolls at a really amazing all you can eat price. VERY attentive. You get an hour but if you shove food in your face at the rate that my fiancé and I do, an hour is more than enough. The actual sushi is also freaking amazing. The salmon especially! Rich and buttery and all the kind of qualities you’d never expect to find at an all you can eat spot. We are DEFINITELY coming back.

They have a great all you can eat selection. Chris my sushi chef was very welcoming. John my server was also very cool and easy to talk to. Very happy with their service. Sushi was good, not amazing. Will be coming back !

I had two rolls: the snowball roll which is one of my favorites and the cake roll — even in the fanciest places you can barely find this great sophisticated roll. I’m giving only them 4 stars(the sushi itself worth 6) for two reasons: 1. 35 $ for all you can eat(if you add a drink) is not so cheap since most people eat 2 – 3 rolls. 2. the appetizers — I tried most of them and they were pretty tasteless.

Awesome service(Chris is funny and attentive). The sushi was good and not full of rice. Try the quial egg shooter. Ask him for the Orange Mickey…

The customer service is terrible and disgraceful BUT this is not why I gave them only 1 star. The quality of the fish is an abomination. After ordering 2 hand rolls, we asked if we can pay a la carte instead of doing«All-You-Can-Eat». They gave us attitude and the owner came to ask us why we wanted to leave. I explained to him that the fish tasted terrible and it was not fresh. He said that there was something wrong with my «taste». LOL I was not about to pay 30 $ for them to pop open a can of «Chicken of the Sea» tuna and add Sriracha. This place is just gross. I would rather eat dried up road kill than their nasty«sushi».

Been a customer for years. This place is not the same friendly place it was and service is horrible. 2 nights ago, next to me were SEVERAL dirty plates staying there for almost 40 minutes. Between the waitress and sushi chef, it was a terrible experience. The waitress cannot handle more than 4 people in there. The chef needs to be friendly at least say hello. Sorry Sammy is gone. He always had a smile and was a pleasure to have him as the chef. This waitress on her part is ruining the reputation also. Her job is to clean up, refresh water, order things from the kitchen. I don’t think I need to sit for 30 minutes waiting for water. I have never been in a sushi place where the chefs didn’t all yell HELLO. Be careful of this place. It is going down hill fast. They need 2 more sushi chefs. 2 sushi chefs is not enough and they take too long to make your order. It was never like this. Sorry guys, you lost another long time customer. HOPETHEOWNERREADSTHIS and gets a better happy face to make it inviting to come in. ACTUALLY, ITWASVERYDEPRESSINGINTHEREANDYOUCANFEELTHEBADENERGY

Growing up in the valley, I always see the big letters of «All You Can Eat Sushi» at New Light & Healthy Sushi. I’ve been so curious to check it out, and now I finally have… what a disappointment. This is really not a «all you can eat» place. Let me explain. On their website, they advertise weekend lunch ayce as their dinner price of $ 26; however, upon sitting down they advertise $ 27 — yes, it’s only $ 1 but when we confronted them about the price difference, all they said was that the website«was old and outdated». If I’m paying over $ 30 for ayce sushi, you better know I’m getting my fill; however, their sushi chef and staff are very strategic to not allow people to eat a lot. There were 2 sushi chefs and even though we only put in 1 round of maybe 25 pieces for 4 people, he already acted shocked and made a comment about«HOWMUCH» it was. We all looked at each other and instantly said that this is only the beginning. As a note, make sure to order the sashimi first and rolls later. Even though you order all at the same time, they will make the rolls first so you get filled up. At one point, our sushi chef went to take a break(we got there right at opening at 12pm on Sunday), and it was only about 1pm by the time he said he was leaving. I asked if he was coming back, and all he said was«you guys will be gone by the time I’m back». So now there’s about a dozen people all trying to order from ONESUSHI chef!!! It was literally like the Hunger Games calling him out to order. The second he made one plate for us, we had to say our order right away; if we didn’t, who knows when he’ll come back to us. At one point, we even asked the floor staff to call him over since he kept standing on the OTHER side of the sushi bar. 2pm rolls by and the first sushi chef is back! I said to him«you’re back I see», and all he said was«I didn’t expect you guys to still be here». All in all, I don’t understand how a place that advertises AYCE sushi on their big sign on Ventura Blvd tries to gip people out of their sushi even though other people in the restaurant who ordered ordered so little. It’s like they advertise AYCE, but are not really interested in serving AYCE.

Light and healthy is one if the best AYCE restaurants in the valley. Considering the price of AYCE(under 30 bucks for dinner), the quality of the sushi is excellent. When I do AYCE, I like to order 1 dinner /specialty roll, a hand roll, several orders of sushi, and a couple of kitchen items. I always get my money’s worth, and leave full and happy. It can get pretty packed on the weekends, but the AYCE is not strictly timed like most AYCE sushi spots, so it’s not a big deal when the food takes a little longer than usual. My recommendations are still similar from my last review: Sushi: salmon, albacore, mackerel, & eel(easy eel sauce) Hand rolls: crazy h/r, spicy scallop h/r Rolls: crunch roll, baked salmon roll(spicy), & light and healthy roll. Kitchen items: mussels(you ask for them spicy), mixed tempura, egg rolls(not Japanese food I know. But they’re so bomb!), and gyoza Protip: take your time ordering, they won’t rush you to order everything at once. If you order the whole restaurant like a hungry fool, you’ll be miserable trying to finish everything(they charge if you leave too much leftovers).

I went here with a group of friends for the first time for dinner. Unaware that it was an all you can eat location, I was excited to hear that it was only $ 27.95 to do this option. The restaurant was a bit understaffed, so ordering took longer than it normally would. Regardless, the quality of the fish here is fresh! The first thing my friend and I ordered was the salmon sashimi, and it tasted amazing! For what it is worth, even though ordering was slow, their sushi is delicious and high quality. Will come back.

To me this place is average, not bad but not amazing either. Its a large venue that was rather empty when I went on a Thursday afternoon. They offer all you can eat lunch special for $ 23 which is a good deal if you eat two or more speciality rolls. Its more like five or six of the regular rolls(e.g., spicy tuna). They also offer this special for dinner but it is more expensive, not sure the price. The fish was fresh, which is always a plus. The seasoning used for each roll could be stronger, but I enjoy fresh fish and found the rolls delicious. The speciality rolls are not super creative or spectacularly assembled on the plate, but taste good. The chefs tend to use more rice than other sushi restaurants I have been to. Over all, I would return, perhaps when I am more hungry to take advantage of the all you can eat.
