What a find! Visiting Philly on business, and chose to find dinner near where I was headed to. A fantastic little place on a 3 door storefront. I hope all the people who live nearby know about this place. Fantastically fresh gnocchi, and the flavor of the basil plum tomato sauce is excellent. Had the Limoncello for dessert, and it’s was even better than the photos. I will certainly return next time I am in town.

We were in the Philly area for the weekend. We were going to go to the Italian market in the city that morning, but I had heard the news of the massacre in Orlando earlier that morning. I used to live in Orlando. I really didn’t feel like doing anything except heading home. My spouse(not an Orlando native) suggested we get a good breakfast. Frankie’s was just the comfort food I needed that morning. It’s crowded, but you don’t feel like you are on top of each other. It is somewhat quieter that one would expect. The breakfast menu had many different choices. I had the meat omelet. Nice, big and fluffy and full of meat. I also liked the idea of having asparagus spheres instead of breakfast potatoes as I don’t like many carbs at breakfast. My spouse had the grilled cinnamon buns. He loved them and wants to try them at home. I told him he better dare not! I think it was Frankie(middle aged man with pony tail and big smile) that checked on us. Very jovial. Made us feel welcome. My only critique is that I was charged $ 2.50 per cup for my coffee. I think that was a mixup on part of the waiter. When I got the bill, I really didn’t want to bring that up. Breakfast at Frankie’s was the best part of a very painful day for this Orlando ex-pat. True comfort food has never tasted better.

Great breakfast, nice courteous staff. A little noisy, but it just adds to the charm of this cute breakfast nook. It also has original spins on classic breakfast.

I had literally the BEST time visiting Frank’s. Being from out of town, I relied on Unilocal for a good place for brunch. I was certainly not let down. First off, the business is located in a nice area, and the interior is very tastefully decorated. The staff was prompt and extra friendly. After ordering breakfast, we inadvertently asked Frank himself for a recommendation on a place for cheesesteaks, so naturally he insisted we give his a try, and taught us the proper way to order one. It was a chopped steak with fried onions on bakery fresh bread; so much great flavor! We had also ordered the ultimate biscuit – which is a great name for the dish because it was just that! I also ordered the breakfast burrito which was served with a great side of roasted potatoes – best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had! Frank and his friend were very helpful in respect to our day visit to Philly. They gave great advice and directions to ensure us visiting all of Philly’s «greatests» Definitely made our trip! What a wonderful experience. Thanks guys!

When I first saw Frankie’s breakfast and lunch menu I was delighted. More importantly my pescatarian wife was delighted. Tofu scramble, vegan cheesesteaks, crab cake sandwhiches with vegan option! «Wow!» I remember thinking– «we might have just found our new favorite spot.» First time there I had the Cuban panini. My wife had the tofu scramble. my daughter had the pancake with fruit and my son had the kids tenders and fries because they didn’t have his 1st choice, a hotdog. My wife loved her tofu scramble. I’ve cooked vegetarian for tens years and trust me it’s not always easy to make a tasty scramble. In typical kid fashion my 2yr old son mainly stuck to his fries while barely touching his oddly shaped fried chicken pieces.(more on that later) My 6 yr old gobbled her pancake and fruit, no suprise there. I was presented with what looked like the most glorious panini I’ll ever eat. An absolutely massive sandwhich with a mountain of fries. We’ll a few bites in the Cuban panini decided that this is a lot of bread. I really wanted it to taste better. I wanted it to taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately neither the pork, ham, mustard or pickles were tasty enough compete with the overpowering amount of focaccia. Also I was looking forward to the sweet potato fries I had heard so much about and got bland, slightly stale, regular fries instead. Where’s the salt? I’d give the sandwhich a 3⁄5 stars with only the shear size of the sandwhich tipping into the positive. Back to those chicken tenders that son wouldn’t eat. Like most 2 yr olds my son never met a chicken tender he didn’t like until that day. I tried them and they were bland. Actually bland implies that there not enough flavor. These things are tasteless. Don’t get them. They had absolutely no seasoning on them or at least any that noticeable. Poor kid just wanted a hotdog and instead get’s bad chicken. My time around. Cliff notes. Wife-Vegan cheesesteak«so yummy, love this thing! MIL– Pear and walnut salad with shrimp added. «Really good.» 6 yr old daughter– pancakes and fruit

This place was definitely a diamond in the rough. I didn’t know the food was going to look and taste so good. I ordered the Fettucine Alfredo and it was scrumptiousthe service was something more than wonderful. The manager was very kind, inviting and the waitress was nice as well with extensive knowledge of the menu. I highly recommend this hidden gem for all meals.

Thanks to Regina B. for the heads up!!! I go by here all the time and would have never stopped. Great atmosphere pleasant staff, felt welcome from the first step in the door. Feel embarrassed I didn’t know about this place seeing I only live 2 miles from here and always stop at the Wawa next door for coffee. Had the gravy for two. Meatball size of a softball. Gravy excellent, Sausage had a nice little kick and the Braciole like I remember at grandmom’s. The only thing we needed was more Rigatoni, but no problem just ordered more.(They didn’t charge us for to extra pasta) Staff bent over backwards to accommodate what ever you needed. Server always making sure you had everything you wanted. Will definitely be back.

Not bad . I had a bacon egg and cheese on a long roll, to go. Although it wasn’t the best BEC I have had it was fairly descent. The waitress was very nice and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I am looking forward to go back and try some of their award winning dishes.

We haven’t even received our food yet and already this place is phenomenal. We stopped in a bit early before dinner hours, but we were welcomed anyway. My family received the star treatment. We had almost every detail of every dish lovingly explained, suggestions were offered, we were just sincerely welcomed. I still can’t stop smiling :) We ordered mussels with white wine sauce… sooooo good! My sister and I were slurping the butter sauce with our spoons and sopping it up in bread lol. Just delicious. I normally eat vegan, but not today lol. I ordered the brussel sprouts with vegan bacon & the veggie quinoa. Very very good. My mom ordered fried shrimp– they weren’t even on the menu! They were sooo good, the chef even made a small batch of cocktail sauce to accompany! Soooo sooo good. My sister ordered the crab cake sliders, and they were really tasty. Everything is so fresh and delicious here. They even had vegan desserts for me! The cupcake was lemon flavored, very tasty! They even offered a vegan double chocolate brownie. Vern makes me want to cry. He was sooooo hospitable, just an amazing host. I really hope everyone gets to experience his presence. Michelle was our server, she was equally as fantastic. Overall, everything was delicious & amazing and we can’t wait to return!

Great atmosphere and food. Coffee good also. We have never had a bad anything here. Took friend here for breakfast, she took her sister and now all her family goes here… Its contagiously yummy. Interesting variety of food choices both convential and some a little different. Something for everyone. Portions nice size. Nicely decorated, friendly and clean. Kid friendly. Bathroom down some steep steps in basement(not good for elderly). It can get loud, cause lots of happy conversations, but its worth it! Parking is really tough but you can drop off family out front– to get in line and park in neighborhood across Fairview Rd. Good vibes in this place. I heard they are doing dinner now too. Enjoy!

Wow. Absolutely amazing food and service! Ordered the«Frankie Jr” — 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 1 meat. Got a side of the potatoes too. Everything was delicious, couldn’t even put a dent in the food it was so much. Coffee is great too! My boyfriend got the crab & asparagus omelet with tater tots, he finished the whole thing and said it was the best thing he’s ever eaten. And our server Candice was awesome despite how busy it was in there. Definitely coming back here!

I fell in love with this place. the vegan food is delicious the menu is fun. Its nice to find somewhere that puts fun into vegan recipes and doesn’t just slap a veggie Pattie on my plate. The staff are so friendly I have been several times and they’ve gone above and beyond each time. I am so happy to find this with out having to fight traffic in the city. Love the décor

I have been eating vegan for about a year now… I typically search«vegan» on Unilocal and see what pops up. I am glad this joint popped up! The Bahn Mi Panini was 5 stars… Compared with places like Hip City Veg in Philly this sandwich was top notch… The proportions were YUGE! Sweet potato fries also gorgeous! The manager Mark let me try a bit of the vegan crab cake and it was the BEST vegan crab cake I’ve ever tried… Uh-mazing. I was treated like an honored guest on my first visit… There are several vegan alternatives here as well as your classic American fare. I would recommend this place to all my vegan and non vegan eating friends! The coffee was fresh and grand too. Congrats and blessings on the whole establishment! Until my next trip to the area– hasta luego!

Dinner, Sunday night March 20,20165PM to 8PM. This is my 3rd Frankie’s review and this is why… Because it keeps on getting better and better. What happens when a friend of yours decides he’d like to get a group together for dinner, says he will set it up and you know the food and company will be great? Answer: You go!!! Frankie’s had recently started serving dinner and the word about town was it was as great as breakfast and lunch. I was glad to hear of this in a section of the county sparse in good dinner options at reasonable prices. And as stated in my previous review, Frankie’s has brought the city to the burbs food wise without the sticker shock. I was shocked to learn prior to coming our headcount for dinner had reached 19 people but neither Chef Vincent Tancredi, Owner Frank, Manager Vern or our incredible wait staff of Brooke and Korina had any problems handling our big, happy crowd on this Sunday evening. Did I mention Frankie’s is BYO? The wine was flowing. Frankie’s crew kept us served well and attentively for 3 hours without a glitch. Frankie’s on Fairview(and all of us) are lucky to have Chef Vincent Tancredi, South Philly born and bred who was trained in Rome, Italy. It’s worth noting all pasta here is homemade. There is a nice variety of Vegan option at Frankie’s too. I couldn’t see exactly what all 18 ordered but at my end of the table we had : HOMEMADEGIANTMEATBALL served over baby greens with some shaved parmigano and ricotta cheese which was incredibly tasty. I think about 6 of us were able to sample it. Giant is an apt description. I will order this for dinner next time.
Special of the Day– Seafood risotto. I saw clams, mussels, calamari, crab and loads of shrimp over creamy, delectable risotto. I was so content with this dish all anyone heard out of me for 20 minutes was«Yummy noises» Special of the Day– Striped Bass– All I know is the owner of this plate was so content with it’s size and taste she was full, shared some with us and took leftovers home. Pork Chop Milanese was a breaded and seared pork chop the size of which I have never seen. As one 2016 Presidential candidate is fond of saying : «IT’S HUGE!» Pasta Sampler– 3 Homemade Pastas of varying shapes and textures. Loved the one I tasted. GRILLEDBRUSCHETTA with basil and olive oil and fresh roma tomatoes. Devine! Antipasto– Beautifully ripe tomatoes and a soft flavorful cheese and Basil leaves — Heaven on a plate.
Many of us had dessert and raved over the number of options. They were great! After dinner I made my way down the long, nicely set table for a quick chat about their experience, The consensus from the 19 was that our dinner was a resounding success. A very large party had a fabulous meal with fabulous service. We will come back. Frankie’s can handle it!

Vegan food in this area of Delco is really hard to come by. When I read the menu, I was immediately excited to try Frankie’s! I had the Bahn Mi Panini which was delicious and HUGE. The vegan options come with sweet potato fries, which aren’t my thing, but apparently others like them. I have had their catering a few times at work. The sandwich trays, salad, and pasta salad are always a huge hit with everyone. I have yet to hear anyone say they didn’t like something. Bravo, Frankie’s, for offering dishes that are outside the norm for this area!

I would say 4.5 stars. Been here about 3 times already, so I think I can give a fair enough review. The service is always amazing. They are so nice and treat everyone equally. The food — also amazing. There were only a few minor things I would change. Crabby rich — so good! The crab was plenty and so was the dish itself. I’m not a huge hollandaise sauce person, but this place made it different, but right. I do feel they overcooked my tators just a tad, but it was still good Richie’s wings — The first time I came, I swear I thought it said Frankie’s wings… anyway, these are so good. Flavorful, moist, delicious. Don’t think about it, and just get them! Pancakes — I think they need to make them fluffier. They were too flat and slightly on the dry side. They were for my son, and he didn’t quite enjoy them as much as other items. Crab cake sandwich — love the brioche bread. It’s probably one of my favorite types of bread. My wife thought it was too much bread to crab meat ratio, but I thought it was perfect. The crab itself was seasoned well. You get a choice of getting it broiled or pan fried. I like crispy outer layer patty, so I got pan fried. SODELICIOUS! Fish tacos — This was my wife’s dish, but I ate one. It was really good. I like the fact that there isn’t much dough surrounding the fish. You get to actually taste the fish. I also like that they toast/warm up the tortilla and seasoned it. A++ for these Overall — I’m so glad this place is so close. I will surely be back!

Finally, a restaurant so close to me that I absolutely LOVE! This place is small, and there was a wait when we went, but it’s so worth it. Service is amazing. Everyone is so nice and willing to help in anyway shape or form. Parking is a bit hard, as they are located in a lot with a laundromat and this laundromat seems pretty adamant about reserving certain spots just for them, so we had to go into a neighborhood across the street to find parking. Moving on… seated at around 10:45am. Looked over the menu and knew we wanted to try the wings, but it wasn’t 11 yet! Server says«No problem» and put in the order anyway.(like I said, service is amazing). The wait for the food was a tad on the long side, but they were extremely busy, so we didn’t care cause the food still came out hot and delicious. Twice baked wings — if i received the worse service in the world, i will still come back for these wings. Yes, they are that amazing! So moist, yet the skin was so crispy. And the seasoning on it was just yum! I’m drooling just thinking about them. Biscuit with sausage gravy and eggs — So good. The biscuit tasted so fresh and it wasn’t dried out like I’ve had at other spots. I think this was my son’s favorite meal. He kept asking for more of the biscuits with gravy. I can’t wait to go back. Philadelphia quality food near my house… SCORE!
