We used to come here whenever we don’t have the time to cook at home. Place is a few blocks from my home and is wide. Serves Fuzhou and Cantonese dishes. The last time we went there was my father brought lunch for me in December 2013 before I was scheduled to take the English regents at Bryant.

Ordered spare ribs, the woman behind the the counter gives me my order to take home in about 3 minutes, when i got home and opened my meal i could clearly see cats claws with chopped up bone and fat where the spare ribs should be. I am saving the meat to bring legal action against these people-without a doubt the most disgusting food experience of my life-You Have Been Warned!

Authentic Chinatown standard type of place, it’s as old as me being 38yrs old, if you from any of the NY boros then you know how these new modern Chinese kitchens have made a transition to being very fast food oriented, it sure has compromised the quality of the food that’s being served, worry about that anymore as King Wah on Northern Blvd. sure lives by its name, don’t let the name fool you only one real King Wah in Queens & it’s on Northern Blvd/69/70th St. Owner only owns one of the many imposter King Wahs.

Needed some lunch in the area and this place was the closest spot to where I was working that day. I was hoping and praying that the food would be at least decent but I have to say it was mediocre at best. Unless you are desperate for some food or short on time, don’t even bother going here. There are far better Chinese food spots in the city. So far from what I experienced, you have better luck going to the heart of Flushing for some good Asian spots in queens.

The best boneless spare ribs you will ever eat. I’ve been coming here for a long time. The waitress already knows what I order haha!

End Game. What was in my opinion the last decent Chinese take out joint in Jackson Heights/Astoria, is now nothing more than a dump. First, the place looks like crap, filthy windows, looks like they haven’t been washed in years. The tables and chairs look worn and old. There is a filthy empty fish tank, blackened by algae, where they use to keep the fresh live lobsters. They have a «GRADEPENDING«which is not a good sign. The fried rice simply sucks, being from New York no a hipster, I remember old school Chinese food. For example, the friend rice does not contain, eggs, scallions, onions, sprouts, just brown rice that taste like it was saturated in oil and soy sauce. The BBQ Spare ribs, were just skin covering fat, all the ribs were nothing but fat. Sorry to say fare well, but you can give that junk to someone else. Only a person with no discernment will eat in this place.

The two ladies that work the front counter are so sweet and polite and kind! This is your typical Chinese restaurant and they have plenty of seating. I’ve only done take out here a few times, I have to say the entrees are decent but the fried rice that comes with the lunch special needs a little work, its always way too oily and lack flavor. The fried chicken needs a little more salt and some more spice. I have to say East star is still my favorite Chinese food around the area but this place is so much closer to my home and the people here are nice!

Bad, REALLYBAD!!! I ordered the Boneless Spare Ribs with Pork Fried Rice Lunch special. God it was awful! I think the fried rice was oil fried in rice NOT rice fried in oil. Please stay away! I had to throw the entire thing away(and it cost $ 6.50). I managed to eat the boneless spare ribs– which was at least edible and decent. But there are much better options out there if you are hungry.

Almost perfect, at least what I’ve eaten. No fat on the pork, chicken is white meat, prices are good. No ambiance but has summer A/C and table service. Staff friendly. Anticipating a bad meal but that meal never comes. I guess being burned by bad Chinese in the past has left scars. Since I wrote this review, I knocked off a star from my original 4 because of the«B» inspection rating and poor inspection results in general. I must reiterate I’ve never gotten sick eating here and not had a bad meal from King Wah. Consider this a four star review if you don’t care about the New York City«ABC» inspection system.

Only Chinese I eat. The food is good, place has no ambiance and its not a great place for service or décor, but great pork fried rice, dumplings and beef with string beans.

My family and I have been coming here for years to eat, less so recently, but we still like to come here just the same. Now, King Wah is a typical«Americanized» Chinese restaurant, but there are quite a few standouts that are worthy of a visit. Firstly, any meal here should be started off, ended with, or made entirely up of a large portion of their boneless pork ribs. You will not be disappointed. Thinly sliced pork with a honey glaze. Always good, always worth ordering, and even good as leftovers(even cold, they are a great little late-night snack). The menu follows the Americanized palette(things like General Tso’s and Sesame Chicken), but also has a good variety of traditional favorites. Chicken and Eggplant is a good standout, as is the simple, but delicious Roast Pork Fried Rice. The staff is always friendly and can walk you through other options that may or may not be on the menu(if you’re nice enough). When you first walk in you’ll find that the restaurant is split, with seating on the left and right side, with an aisle leading you to a counter, where you can place a take-out order. Not the biggest of restaurants, it does offer space for a few groups of 4 – 6 to be seated without being too crowded. Worth a stop if you’re in the area for lunch or dinner, or for take-out.

Almost all the fast food chinease spots in queens look the same. So when I walked in this one I was a little taken back with the two sides you can eat at plus waitress that was REALLYREALLYNICE. My boyfriend and I both ordered from the lunch menu since it was before 4. I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken with white rice and he ordered the Shrimp in lobster sauce with fried pork fried rice. My plate was on the average. you can’t really go wrong. His… lets just say I don’t like how that plate even looks… he loved it though. The only THING I didn’t like was the Wonton soup. it was so bland. So EH. Over all good food. service is nice. I’ll come back, definitely.

I’ve been going to King Wah since I was a kid and till this day this is the only Chinese Food take out/restaurant that I will eat from. Sesame seed chicken with broccoli combination platter amazing and only white meat is used without tons of fried breading. The ultimate stand out is the boneless ribs. Best around. Almond cookies for dessert when your a regular. Delicious.

Just an update. Found that their steamed chicken dumplings and steamed pork dumplings are also very good. Their dumpling skin is thin, not the thick heavy kind. I’ve posted pictures — check them out.
