Used to go to Gondolier for the pizza deal(buy one get one) but they have discontinued that offer. The pizza was decent, the other food extremely bland! Yuck! Probably will not go back.

It’s not my fault! I had no idea the gyro plate was going to be so huge. I wouldn’t have ordered the calamari appetizer had I known. No, wait, I still would have since the calamari was perfectly crisp and generous. I don’t even like marinara, but the one that came with the calamari was so fresh and tasty I was dipping my bread into it to ensure none of it went to waste. My son-in-laws beef ravioli looked really good, so I think I’ll try that next time. He certainly didn’t offer to share any with me, so it must be good.

Waitress was really nice but food wasn’t good. Calamari was blah & marinara bland. Side salad was my I had the lasagna that arrived cold in the middle & barely warm on the edges, they took it back & heated it up again, which by the time it came out my boyfriend was half done eating. He got the rigatoni with sausage which was barely warm when he got it so I told him not to wait for mine to come back out, his was subpar. Even when my food came back it was hot on the edges & barely warm in middle. Breadsticks tasted like cardboard.

Great place. They used to have buy one get one free pizza. Now they have gotten rid of that deal and they are settings pizza to people under the impression that they are still getting buy one get one free. I used to go there only for that deal. Now I’ll stop going there. Goodbye Gondolier Pizza.

Wish I could go against what many other reviewers have said about this place. I thought after one pleasant visit here maybe I could, but that quickly changed after my most recent visit here tonight where some true colors were shown involving my family and I having to leave the restaurant shortly after ordering. Like I said I did have a decent visit here a few weeks back where the staff was very friendly and the food was good so I know it is possible here, but after the truly insane encounter from tonight I don’t believe we will ever be back. This place has been around for awhile and has had some changes over the years. I remember eating here since I was 8 years old or younger and I’m now close to my mid 20s. This is a place my family and I eat at a few times a year and have never really had too many problems until tonight. We started out by loudly being shouted at with directions of where to stand by the hostess who I believe is also the owner or manager. Once she moved us and another group of people out of her way to seat another couple she seated everyone else waiting. From there things drastically went downhill and probably to the point of one of the worst restaurant experiences in terms of service and common courtesy and kindness I’ve ever experienced. Our waitress came and started off with our drinks which we all ordered water. We let her know we were looking over the pizzas which she then tells us that their menu has changed and all the pizza prices have dropped because they no longer do the buy one pizza get one pizza free. So we were fine with that and she left to go grab our waters. When she came back we were ready to order and told her we would like one large pizza for the table and one small pizza that we just wanted to be boxed to take with us. She immediately told us that would not be allowed or we would have to pay $ 13.75 instead of the $ 6.99 that was listed on the«new» menu she had just told us about. So apparently Togo boxes cost them $ 7?! Knew this wasn’t a good sign… She then told us well they do actually still have the buy one get one(after telling us that deal didn’t exist anymore), but it’s only for Togo orders and she threw a Togo menu at us and said you have to pay these prices. So we decided whatever after her being so rude and feeling betrayed she just walked away and took our order to the back after we were still not sure about it. When she came back after flagging her down my dad asked if she could just put our order as all Togo so we could get the buy one take one and not have to worry about all their new confusing price variances based on what side of the restaurant you stand on or what color shirt you’re wearing… She then quickly responded with a no you can’t do that because you ordered 2 different size pizzas basically saying we can’t have a large pizza and get a small pizza free we would have to get a large pizza then get a large free which we were completely fine with so we said okay, let’s do that. The waitress then decided well no I can’t do that either for you because I’ve already placed your order so you’re going to have to pay $ 13.75 for that pizza and the menu price for the large pizza. That’s when I immediately stood up and said okay, well we’re done here, my dad then got up and said we don’t have time for this, it’s way too confusing and I’d hate to continue arguing with you. The insane part was that she tried to stop us and was yelling«wait you can’t do that» as she cornered my mom into the booth as she was getting up and my dad and I were already outside the restaurant getting into the car. My dad noticed my mom had not made it out of the restaurant yet to find the waitress with her arms stretched out across the door preventing my mom from leaving the restaurant and telling her we couldn’t leave without talking to a manager because our food order had already been placed. We finally were able to get my mom outside and into the car and the manager/owner was running outside as were in our car leaving chasing after us, but once she saw we were in the car she turned around and went back inside. This was by far one of the craziest restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and it will definitely make me not want to come here anymore. We’ve never been treated so poorly and dictated in that way by a waitress or any member of a restaurant. It sounds like this place needs to realize how you treat your customers can lead to success based on the many customer service complaints that are on here. It is not fun being rudely spoken to, told you can’t leave, and embarrassed by the scene caused when it simply could’ve been solved numerous times before getting out of hand. We luckily were able to get out of there and drive down the road to Johnny’s NY pizza & enjoy a meal for a family of 4 including an appetizer for $ 27 and much nicer and happier employees. I recommend avoiding this place unless you want to be forced to eat here or argue with the dishonest waitress.

I have been here maybe 4 – 5 times with family members or friends over the years, and honestly I don’t know why. The food is terribly bland, I have had the spaghetti, and it seems pre-cooked and just heated back up(which makes it slimy, gross). The chicken parmesan is OK, but seems frozen, then heated and covered in canned tomato sauce. The herbs that go on these dishes seem old(rosemary, thyme and oregano for example), or possibly frozen as well; herbs go bad fast unless dried and even when dried they lose a ton of flavor. You can’t have good Italian food without fresh herbs, and that’s not the case here. Sides, are not pleasing at all. The bread sticks are bland, they have absolutely zero flavor to them. You have to dip them in whatever sauce comes with your entrée(if any) to give them flavor. In today’s American/Italian restaurant market, you definitely need good bread sticks to stay competitive, they just need garlic butter or a good tomato sauce, it’s really simple. As far as the restaurant itself and the atmosphere, it needs a ton of updating. The seats as far as I can tell are 15+ year old seats, and starting to tear. Nothing seems clean in the restaurant, from the booths, to the tables. Even the menus were extremely worn out. I’d hate to see how worn out the kitchen is in comparison to the dinning area. It’s also extremely dark here, especially at night, they need more lighting. Basically they just need to start over and remodel the entire place. The staff if OK, not the best by any means, the owner is a little weird and invades your personal space. I went with it as I am easy going, but other people might find it weird.

My husband & I have eaten here for years. I was shocked to read all the negative reviews, but agree that the owners behavior was over the top. Maybe I’ll tell her to check Unilocal next time I’m in. I’m sorry some of you find the friendly owner creepy. We’ve eaten inside, but since moving farther away get mostly takeout as we pass by coming from the airport. My husband likes the spaghetti & I like the chicken souvlaki so we usually ordered the same thing. I like fish so recently when we called she asked if we’d like to hear the specials and they had a mixed shellfish dish, so I tried it. It was awesome! Next ordered flounder stuffed with spinach with broccoli & cauliflower, again outstanding! I am a good cook(have yet to find veal Marsala as good as mine) & have eaten, at restaurants all over, so I can be quite the critic. They were both extremely large portions. Enough for two meals and always better the second day after they soak up the flavors. I was impressed.

We are from NY and this place comes very close to the back home experience and taste. Great Italian food, Greek desserts, and very very good pizza. I’ll spend $ 500 annually at this place for sure!

The only reason for four stars is because whatever pizza you order at the table, you get a second at no price to you. I would say pizza is pizza but that’s not true after trying some other spots around. The pizza here is decent and you can not beat the price!

We love their buy one get one free pizza, especially my hubby. He prefers to drive 3 miles to get that pizza. Their crust is very light. We stopped to eat there one time and I ordered Shrimp fettuccine Primavera and it was good.

When you get to the place, the owner will creep you out by putting his arm around you so that he can walk you to your table. The restaurant itself is dark. There’s not enough lighting. The food is mediocre at best. I went there 1 time and that was 1 time too many.

If you’ve seen more than two or three episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, then you’ve probably seen an episode that approximates our experience here. The Good: My dad liked his canelloni or whatever it was. The Bad: The place is kind of dingy. The breadsticks are plain and uninteresting. I ordered a chicken and spinach rigatoni, which I found to be edible but not particularly enjoyable. My stepmom ordered the same thing but liked it even less than I did, stopping after only two bites. While I am more of the«suffer in silence and never return» personality(and I did just that), my stepmom decided to send it back. She politely mentioned to the waitress that she didn’t care for it, and the waitress said, «Okay, I’ll send the owner right over.» The Ugly: So the owner comes up and immediately launches into an aggressive, belittling speech about how«everybody loves my food, but sure whatever» and«no one has complained about my food in 20 years»(an assertion that seems unlikely considering some of the other Unilocal reviews). It was pretty embarrassing for us because she was loud about it, and it SHOULD have been embarrassing for her because we weren’t the only table within earshot. She went on for a while talking about how everything is fresh, listing the ingredients, etc. Then she made her try it again, saying, «There’s nothing wrong with it. Try another piece. I have to go take care of something, I’ll be back in a few minutes.» And she disappeared. Eventually she came back. «Well?!» My stepmom apologized, saying she just didn’t care for it. «Fine!» she relented angrily. «Do you want a soup instead?» She said she could have one of two soups. Yeah. She didn’t say, «let me get you a menu so you can try something else.» She offered to get my stepmom a CUP of soup to replace the $ 12 entrée she had ordered presumably because she was hungry enough to eat it. So, the cup of soup arrives. She tried the soup and didn’t really care for that either, but she didn’t say anything. I don’t blame her, I wouldn’t have said anything either. All the same, as we were getting ready to leave, the owner came back and saw that the cup still had soup in it. She doubled down on her hostility and was just outright insulting this time. «Don’t tell me you don’t like the soup! People are always asking me for the recipe! What, do you want me to go in the back and open a can of something for you, would you like that?» My stepmom could only apologize, once again. Had I not been so dumbstruck by the owner’s behavior, I would not have been so quiet at the time. This is no way to run a business. You don’t insult your customers. If someone returns a dish, you don’t give them a cup of soup to replace it, you let them order something else. Oh, and in case you missed it: YOUDON’T INSULTYOURCUSTOMERS. Seemingly just to be absolutely sure that none of us would never ever return to this restaurant, they took the $ 12 off of the check for the rigatoni, but charged $ 3.50 for the small side salad that was included in the price of the entrée.

I usually end up getting the same thing here… the gyro… and it’s very good. The last couple times we’ve been here, though, the rest of my family says their meal is just okay. The service used to be super friendly, and now it just seems bland(kinda depressing). The last guy that served us didn’t smile once. I used to think this place was a cute little restaurant, tucked away in a plaza. But it really has become quite a dive… and I don’t mean that in a good way. Broken seats in the booths, broken signs, discolored ceiling tiles. Either a renovation or a relocation is in order. I don’t know that we’ll go back much anymore.

THEOWNERLADYISRUDE/MEAN… I’M NEVERRETURNINGTOGONDOLIER’S! Let me start out by saying a few things: 1. I typically don’t leave bad reviews because most of the time places aren’t all that bad. 2. The pizza here is actually pretty good. 3. Our waitress(Jennifer) was REALLY good and handled a tough situation very well. 4. I don’t eat here regularly… maybe a few times a year(because I moved to Kennesaw and the drive is kind of long), BUT I have been coming to Gondolier’s for probably 10 + years. Now that that is said, let me get to why I gave them such a bad rating. Background: — After church my family(along with out of town family members in for Christmas) were wanting a place to go eat. My dad likes Gondolier, so we decided to go there. — There were going to be 17 people in our party, so we decided to eat in between the«lunch rush» and«dinner rush». We were going to go at 2pm when the restaurant wouldn’t be that crowded. — I called about 20 minutes before we got there to let them know that a large group was on the way. Here’s what happened. 1. My sister arrived at 2pm and told the lady(who is apparently the owner) that we were the people who called ahead. She told us that she had tables prepared, but she wouldn’t be able to seat us all at one table. The restaurant wasn’t crowded(only two other tables taken) so my sister said” That’s fine and sat down”. The owner asked her what she wanted to drink, so she and her boyfriend ordered sweet tea and asked for lemons. My sister told her that most of my family likes lemons in their water or tea so maybe she could bring a plate full(to save time due to it being a large party). The owner responded with, «No. That is how people end up wasting lemons. Each person has to ask for them separately so we don’t waste lemons.» Whatever… Not a big deal, BUT still a bit rude. 2. I got there about 3 minutes after my sister and noticed that the tables weren’t together. There was a group of 10 seats and a group of 8. Since the purpose of our eating there was a «family dinner» before everyone went back to their States after Christmas, I asked her if we could please put us all at one table. She said. «No.» There isn’t a way to put 18 people at one table. I showed her that we could pull the table next to the 10 seater and make it 14 and then turn a table and make it 18 quite easily. She said, «No, you have to sit at two tables because if someone needs to use the bathroom or something it will be too crowded.» HERATTITUDEWASHORRIBLE, RUDE and downright MEAN(not to mention very unaccommodating to her«guests»). She was obviously quite upset for some reason that no one knew why. Im not sure what the big deal was because there were only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant and they were booths on the outskirts. I decided that it wasn’t worth it to fight with a restaurant owner and just said, «Ok. I guess we can just do two tables if you won’t do us all at one.». 3. My mom arrived about 2 minutes after I did and when he saw the two tables, he asked the lady if we could go ahead and combine them. She got loud and even meaner and basically said the same thing to her apparently. I was now seated at another table so I didn’t hear the interaction. My dad came in and my mom told him that the lady was being mean, so my dad walked over(pulled her aside to talk with her quietly) and asked the lady to at least speak kindly to us and that we were just trying to find a way to have a family dinner at one table, so there wasn’t a need to get upset at us. She got upset at him and told him that she wasn’t upset… but clearly she was. This is absolutely not a correct way to treat YOURCUSTOMERS!!! 4. By this time everyone else had arrived and had sat down. My mother and father wanted to leave and go eat at Stevie B’s pizza across the street(that’s how uncomfortable she made us feel… we would go eat nasty pizza from a buffet, so we didn’t have to eat at this lady’s restaurant), but my brother and sister kinda convinced everyone to just stay and eat for simplicity sake(hoping that no one would spit in our food… haha). 5. My other sister said she overheard the owner talking to the manager about us and calling us names(while she walked to the bathroom). All that to say this… We did everything we could to remain nice AND went way overboard in our niceness to our waitress(who did a fanatic job… her name was Jennifer and she was apologetic)… We all agreed that she should be tipped 30% because of the position she was in. We spent hundreds of dollars on the meal, YETWEWILLNEVEREVERGOBACKTOGONDOLIERS. The owner lady COMPLETELYRUINEDOUREXPERIENCE!!! To be rude and mean to your customers is just how one should run a business. It’s sad because every other time we went there was always a VERY friendly man(maybe this lady’s husband) who was always very accommodating and helpful) BUT this owner lady today ruined our experience and we will never be back.

This place is totally hidden, but super glad we found it. The Caesar salad was good, the calamari and marinara sauce was delicious. The best part was the 2 for 1 pizzas. I was prepared for average at best because of your 2 for… but this pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had. Crust, sauce, veggies, and meats… delicious! I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Also, our waitress Jennifer was superb. She was polite and very helpful. She also told us about things to do and try in town. I’ll definitely be looking to sit in her area next time.

We had a wonderful experience for dinner. The Greek salad was so good I took a picture first. The buy one get one pizza deal was legitimate. We also had breadsticks and rice pudding for dessert. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pudding was. Our service from Jennifer was friendly and efficient. I’m curious to see how the rest of their dishes taste. Recommended.

Great place to take the kids. Their pizzas are all buy one get one free so I take our four kids and get two large pizzas for around $ 15. The quality of the pizza is good and the service has always been good too. This is our family’s favorite place for pizza.

The name is somewhat misleading, we thought this was simply another Italian restaurant, serving primarily pizza. Much to our surprise, the menu is loaded with other offerings, including Greek food, which we love! We started with a sampling of a lot of different Greek appetizers, from slices of Gyro meat; Toasted Bruschetta; Toasted Pita; Eggplant to Baked Feta Cheese. Never had baked feta before, in fact we didn’t know it could be baked without melting, but guess what it can! Our appetizers were so good and over the top in terms of flavor. We could have stopped eating after completing the appetizers, but we didn’t. We each moved on to the entrees. My and wife and I split the Greek Combo Plate, which consists of one skewer of Pork Souvlaki, one skewer of Chicken Souvlaki, more slices of Gyro meat(yes more meat, it’s so good), salad, authentic Greek olives and Tzatziki sauce with toasted pita triangles. We also tried their Chicken and Rice soup, it was pure heaven. Not sure if they always have it available, but if they do you must try it, it was fantastic. By this time we were completely full, but somehow dessert made it out to our table. Two desserts arrived, one was something that resembled a Moon Pie from our neighboring state of Tennessee, but tasted so much better than a Moon Pie. It had a custard filling sandwiched in between two pieces of cake bread with a chocolate topping. The other dessert was very similar to what I remember as a kid being called a Napoleon; layered flaky dough with custard in between and completely frosted on the exterior. We think it’s a Greek dessert, but I can’t remember its name. It was fantastic. Super light and a welcome treat after such a great meal. Now that we know Gondolier Italian Restaurant and Pizza is more than your typical Italian place, we intend a return visit to begin making our way through the remainder of their menu. Can’t wait to try the Gyro Melt, Spinach & Feta Cheese Roll, heck we may even try their other standard Italian offerings. Sorry we didn’t post any pictures, we were too busy eating :-)

Ate here maybe a billions times… and have since moved to New Orleans(which really has the best food ever). However, this place is constantly on my mind. The food is quite amazing. The Italian Sub, the Pork Souvlaki, the Pollo Florentine, and the Gyro are my absolute favorites. Honestly EVERYTIME I visit home, I eat here. Choosing which dish to order is always the toughest part!
