Papa Gino’s Pizzeria

It’s a regular Papa’s except that everything has gone downhill — portions, service, quality… What else matters, really? Plus this location is in Woonsocket – Diamond Hill, no less – so there’s that. We waited a long time and just listened to obnoxious music and the employees socializing (loudly) the entire time. Unprofessional. I don’t blame them for chatting with each other behind the counter but yelling back and forth to each other was a little much. The mozzarella sticks were overcooked and had cheese leaking out of them. The sauce on the pizza was basically non-​existent. When my boyfriend asked for an extra side of marinara, he was told he would be charged for it. Seems pretty ridiculous even if they had remembered to put sauce on the pizza in the first place… Not good.

MY FUCKING GIRL Ali hooked us up real good with some great service! No judgement after our meals were done and we went for another order of cheesey breadsticks and cinnamon sticks. ***Bonus*** She made sure the breadsticks were fresh as shit! ****Bonus part 2**** she helped me clarify the difference between cheesey breadsticks and cheesey garlic bread (trust me that’s a big deal). *****Bonus part 3***** I needed another icing for my cinnamon sticks and the ice queen hooked us up free of charge!!! Ohh! And she was very supportive of me when I couldn’t decided what I wanted… Steak and cheese or pizza? Or pasta? (I decided on the steak and cheese)
PS: I still cannot believe how fresh my cinnamon sticks were. FRESH AS SHIT!

Always a family favorite! Mom and Dad were visiting, so we had to have it. Ordered online, which is always easy, about 15 minutes later, we picked it up and of course, it was hot, crispy and delicious! The staff are always friendly and courteous, and as always, we felt we had best pizza around.

It was decent. Not my favorite but not bad either. The delivery was timely and I’d get pizza from them again.

The food at this Papa Gino’s is fine. The service is crazy slow though. 2 slices of pizza and a side of fries took about 35 minutes. The slices are part of a lunch combo type deal but they never have slices readily available or something. I eat at other Papa Gino locations and never have to wait that long.

The Woonsocket Papa Gino’s does a nice job. They deliver to my part of Bellingham and they get the order right and deliver in a reasonable time frame.

Being born and raised in New England, it pains me to give a 1 star review to any Papa Ginos, but I felt compelled to do so for the Woonsocket location. Sit back and prepare to enjoy the sketchy, pretty sure they purposefully gave me food poisoning story. (FYI I don’t know if they gave me food poisoning on purpose but the entire situation was very sketchy.)
Man was I happy when I moved to Woonsocket and discovered there was a Papa Ginos close enough to deliver to me! I had my Rewards card ready and the website open as I love to order online.
For the past few months, our food has been average, at best. The most irritating thing about this place at first, was that they always forgot the small things in the order (IE: no tomato on a sandwich, or extra salad dressing etc) and sometimes the food would arrive cold as ice.
One particular day, we ordered Papa’s as we did most weeks and I ordered some garlic bread with cheese. These USED to come with a cup of marinara, but I always ask for some on the side just in case. They NEVER (and I mean never) give me the sauce. On top of this fact, this was the 4^th time I received garlic bread that was hard and cold. To add to the annoyance, my fiancé’s normally delicious steak and cheese was covered with mushrooms, which he did not order.
We called and spoke to a manager. They had a new sub delivered to us along with a cup of sauce for my gross and cold garlic bread. They also comped our meal which was nice. I figured every place has their bad days so we decided to order again with our credit a few weeks later.
Here’s where it gets sketchy. I kept trying to order online and for some reason it would not allow me to on my account. I could order online when I made a new account, but not with my old one. I found it weird that they would block my ability to order online, but I shrugged it off and called in the order. The guy on the other end was very friendly, and asked for my phone number. When I gave it to him, suddenly his voice changed.
«uhm…hold on a second.» he said dead pan.
About 30 seconds later a woman’s voice came on the phone. She asked me, «is this was Rachel from (my address)?» and I said yes. She suddenly was very rude and said, «ok what is it you want?» I made my order and was as nice and friendly as possible to her. I assumed she was just being snippy because she remembered me complaining last time.
Either way, my grilled chicken salad arrived and it tasted decent. However just a short time later, I was in front of the toilet puking it up. This was the night before Halloween. I had to cancel my plans on Halloween because I was so wretchedly ill the entire day and not fully recovered until a couple days later.
I’m not sure if this was all a coincidence, but it made me very uncomfortable ordering from the Woonsocket Papa Ginos ever again, and I thought it was important to share this review here.

Awesome customer service. Papa Gino’s is still one of my favorite pizza shops. Hands down.

I’m also a big fan of Papa Gino’s pizza. Originating in Boston and now with stores throughout New England, Papa Gino’s New York style pizza always meets my expectations and is definitely my favorite. My only tip, order at least a large size pizza. This style pizza begs to be made at least that size.

I love papa Gino’s pizza. I’ve never met one that made me change my mind!
