Great coffee! Right down the hill from my in laws. Maybe it’s me, but I dig the Eastern European atmosphere! The vintage coffee makers, the News, even the clientele, I feel like I’m in a different country here. Anyway, if it’s not your thing, cool, but it’s exactly what I like in a coffee shop.

This is an old style shop you would be lucky to find in eastern Europe. My wife and I stop by when we need to slow down. The owner is always happy to see us and we often bring our friends visiting from other countries. A real gem.

I, too, really wanted to like this place bec of location and am always looking for cool places to do some work. Awful latte. So watery i thought he made it wrong. Foamless. Zero love. Ordered a muffin and it was equally insulting. Low end. Cheap. Didnt finish it. The end.

I try to come here everytime I’m in this part of Worcester. Great place, the atmosphere is everything you’d want from a small local coffee shop.

Batista didn’t bother to wipe out portafilter. Coffee tastes like wet cigars. Generally unclean and a plastic tamper. Find a more self-respecting coffee shop.

I really wanted to like this place, but I was just so underwhelmed by the cappuccino. The foam was voluminous, but somehow didn’t add anything to the drink. The espresso was overly bitter and slightly burnt tasting(I make my coffee quite strong in a French press, FYI). There were also grounds in it, big ones. The atmosphere and location are great, but they couldn’t save the coffee.

My daughter’s review: I bought an iced coffee latte, medium with a splash of caramel. It was good and the guy at the cash register was really nice. Mom’s comments: not a lot of parking.

Oh my gosh. They have a hot chocolate bar. Unfortunately, the barista didn’t remember how to make most of the drinks, and watching her squeeze hershey syrup into a cup with a flavor shot sort of killed the hot chocolate flavor illusion for me.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for a while, and I’m glad that I did. I’ll definitely be coming back here. Stopped in to do some work over a coffee. I had a double macchiato, which was tasty. Service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet. Tables outside were almost all taken, so I sat inside, which could be a little cozier, but was fine. I can see coming with a friend and sitting on the front patio enjoying conversation and good coffee. I’m happy to have found a place that I can count on in neighborhood for a decent espresso drink.

A great find. Aside from being one of those rare local coffee shops with old world charm, Express Yourself has it right in the other area that really counts: quality. Yes, there coffees, tees and other beverages are delicious, but so is there food. I never get the sense that a lot of people order food here(it’s mostly a coffee shop), but you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you do. Try one of the open faced sandwiches. Leo(the owner) cuts up fresh ingredients and the stuff is just absolutely delicious. Free wifi. Deserts are delicious, too. Really, you can’t go wrong here.

Since I wrote a review for the Corner Grille, it’s obligatory for me to bang out a review for Espress Yourself(They are opposite each other in the same tiny square). A true European coffee spot tucked away in a pleasant, removed area of Worcester. The coffee beverages are authentic and spew forth from hand operated, gold-laden machines. The gentleman that owns the business is really amiable and always dishing out a complimentary smile. A slew of fresh baked, drool-worthy treats to go along with your favorite bev. Maybe the most genuine part of this little beauty of a coffee spot is the gang of surly old Italian dudes that hang out there all day and slug espresso, and obviously chain smoking in the outdoor seating area. Note: You can reduce the snarl factor from these local chaps if you are accompanied by a nice lady friend.

Great coffee, great hours. Seriously, its damn-near impossible to find a coffee shop that stays open past 7pm, and this one is often open until 10pm. The pastries are alright, but leave a bit to be desired, and while the coffee tastes great, the value is only so-so(pricing). Overall, this is a very nice little place. There is outdoor seating, and the guy(who I assume owns the place) is very nice. Free wifi also never hurt anyone :-P

sure, ill give it a solid 4 stars. nice to see anything else top end of the caffeine charts that isnt called a work starting in s and ending in k, if you catch me. I got a mocha, which is quite good, the drip appears to be a nice blend too, but i havent gone there yet, actually i prefer the espresso based drinks, so youll have to try it yourself, let us know. just to echo, this location is way welcomed. stupid worcester and all their colleges, youd think beatnik coffee shops would be everywhere, but alas, no dice. this is smack in a residential neighborhood, i hope the residence are pleased with it. the layout is really old school euro, even including old school europeans. seriously, they are easily out numbering the cool kids 3 to one in here. I take it the oldies dont Unilocal either so it goes to show you how authentic it is in here. would i come back, yes, would i tell a friend, yes, do i have a friend, surnp, no.

I happen to stop by here(quite frequently) when I am in town for work and do not have the convenience of my own espresso machine like I have at home. The place is cute, cheaper than your brand name coffee shop, and way friendly. There always seem to be at least one or two older European gentlemen relaxing inside — sometimes so many days in a row that you would think they live there…(maybe they do?). Honestly, the coffee could be slightly better(the foam done slightly differently, etc, but I’m a coffee snob and former barista…), but not bad for an independent shop in the middle of Worcester. They also have some great breakfast options(bagels, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, chocolate cake(yes, it can be breakfast)). Do it up and support your local shops!

Not bankers hours Hand run espresso machine A neighborhood find This is a great walk up shop right where I least expected it. It’s a city-style café shop in a neighborhood area, perfect for all hours(and they’re open damn near all day.) The espresso was delicious, standing on its own flavor without need for cream or sugar. There are several varieties of espresso drinks on the menu, including a few I had to ask after(espresso, steamed milk and orange syrup being one of them). If you’re a coffee snob(or if you think Starbucks is coffee’s raison d’être), you owe it to yourself to try something here a little simpler. The double machiato, lighter on the milk, would be my recommendation. The glass case held several treats, including a very moist carrot cake covered in walnuts that took the place of dinner for me. There are also pies, cookies, donuts and biscotti in the way of desert fodder. On the menu, a few sandwiches and soups were listed as well, if you’re hungrier. It’s a great place to sit outside and read or hang out. The outdoor patio has lots of seating, and indoors there are a few more tables. With a small selection of sandwiches(coupled with delicious coffee,) this would definitely be a lunchtime favorite if I lived in the area.
