The food is good but the service is spotty. We have been several times and the wait staff gives preference to guests who go there ALL the time. If you get seated first and someone comes in any time after you but they’re regulars they will serve them first and they usually get their order well before you. My husband and I waited 50 minutes for two sandwiches last night because of this. I understand taking care of the regulars but we go there quite often ourselves and it’ll be hard for them to get a new customer following if they constantly serve«old timers» first and provide poor service to others who have arrived well before their«regular» customers.

After a dance competition at Worcester state my girlfriends parents and us decided to go to Friendly’s for dinner. That lead us to the Tatnuck Grille. We were seated very quickly and our waitress came over in a timely manner. This is where the night started to go downhill. Our waitress was clearly sick and was sniffling she should not have been working. She was new though and probably didn’t want to take a day off yet. I had a burger which was cooked medium just as I ordered. It was supposed to have a balsamic sauce on it, but I couldn’t taste it. My girlfriend and her mother ordered a large veggie pizza. The crust was clearly a cheap frozen crust. They threw spinach and other ingredients on it and tossed it in the over for a bit. I would never order pizza from there again in my life. The worst part of the night was when they started using hammer drills or something next door and vibrated the whole place. This clearly isn’t their fault so I can’t fault them for it, but I was very annoying.

I went for Restaurant Week. The ranch salad dressing is made in house and is extremely delicious. The salad was very crisp and fresh. I ordered the Jack Daniels Steak. I ordered it medium well and when it came it was well done. There is no way to go backwards on the steak so I ate it as it was. It was still juicy. My friend had the seafood pasta and they were not stingy on the seafood. The bread and oil was delicious as well. I only gave 3 stars because it took a long time for me to get seated(it wasn’t that many people there), I don’t think our server was that attentive, and my steak was cooked wrong. The food was very good though.

lunch recently… easy to get to as it is on a big parking lot, not to big and for lunch the crowd seemed to be at the bar… bartendress was great pleasant and informative, they have some interesting early evening 3 – 75 $ specials that looked very interesting, had the small salad which was excellent and the chicken fajits(don’t touch the plate it’s hot, no kidding, the steam filled the room!) which were very good, wife had a caesar and the french onion soup… everything was very good… think we will stop back here when in the area!!!

The prices are reasonable for sandwiches but high for entrees. They offer a 3 course meal special which makes the meal much more reasonable. The menu selection is large and offers a wide variety. The spinach artichoke dip with pita was very good and filling. The baked haddock brucetta was fabulous. The haddock was so tender and flavorful. Side portions were large. The steak tips were plentiful and cooked to order. The strawberry cheesecake was presented well, as were all the items received. Refills were timely. Kitchen was quick.

Gem hidden in the outskirts of Worcester, in the corner of the plaza. Fast service, fast, fast kitchen, AMEX. Large menu, what else could you want? Beef tips were excellent, cooked to order, and very tasty.

My husband and I love this place. The food can be pricey but it’s always delicious and the portion sizes are really good. The owner is very friendly and has even bought us a each a drink when we’ve seen him. The whole staff is always friendly.

Was looking to get a chicken ceasar salad to go one day, checked their menu and saw that it was close to $ 13 which was a little rediculous. But I did call and order a burger and fries for takeout and when I got there(about 12 minutes later — said it’d take 10 – 15) and my order wasn’t ready they gave me a free shirley temple! Loved how they«made it right» for having me wait just a few minutes.

I wasn’t very impressed with this place. I got the steak and asked for it rare, it came medium, and the meat itself was not too good. My wife knows whenever she sees me need A1 sauce for my steak there is a problem. The rice pilaf was dry and it had a hair in it. And I had sauteed mushrooms which didn’t taste good(how can you mess up sauteed mushrooms?). They have keno, so this seems more like a bar atmosphere to me than a place to get a meal. They have cheap wings on certain nights and good size TV’s. I am pretty sure I would have been real happy with wings, a beer, and a game at this place, but not for dining.

My partner and I eat here occasionally, simply because it’s in the neighborhood, so we can walk there. It’s really nothing special, but I’m grateful for a few(accidentally?) vegan options and friendly staff.

Went here the other night and the food was not great. We were expecting better. I ordered the eggplant napoleon sandwich and if it werent for the balsamic reduction it would have tasted SO bland.

I’ve been here several times with my family and unfortunately I’ve only once had a decent meal. The chicken Parmesan was good but everything else I’ve had was previously frozen food that has very little flavor and was over priced.

On the basis of an excellent veggie burger takeout, I returned here for dinner with a friend. Well, not just the burger… the bartender who gave me the food was super friendly and the crowd at the bar watching the game was quite nice as well despite the fact that the Pats were losing(don’t worry they ending up winning!) Alas, the veggie burger experience was not duplicated. Our waitress was prompt and told good jokes. But the food was just okay– I had baked haddock and my friend had french onion soup(who eats that stuff? It’s just broth with a skin of cheese). We both agreed that it was okay but nothing you couldn’t find in a grocery store. My friend did like the chicken picatta. He complimented the capers several times. Given the prices, I’d expect more. I would come back though to hang at the bar and watch the game(if I watched sports games…). The beer was good. Like many reviewers, I want the Tatnuck Grille to be better. I think it has a lot of potential.

I wasn’t expecting to pull into the old Friendly’s parking lot when we decided to eat at the Tatnuck Grille last weekend, but the inside was re-done very nicely and we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly but unfortunately the beer was flat, very flat, and gross. Both my beer and my mother’s beer(two different kinds) were flat. I ordered wine next which was fine but a little over priced for the type of place the Tatnuck Grille is. Also, the majority of people in the place were sitting at the bar, watching the Red Sox playoff game, and they wouldn’t even turn the sound on the TV on and instead had this boring, put-you-to-sleep music on for dinner guests(which was probably only 5 people total). I ordered the«create your own pasta» dish, and when I ordered the bartender didn’t seem to know what I was talking about, which means she didn’t know the menu. I ordered a chicken scampi that did not taste like scampi what so ever and the chicken was dry and over cooked. It was pretty tasteless and not worth the $ 14 it was. They also up charge you for every little thing, which should be told to you while you are ordering. They have a lot on their menu and I almost went with seafood, but I am glad I didn’t since the food my party received was not top quality. We were sitting right near the waitress station and where they order drinks from the bar, and even though everyone on staff was very friendly, you could tell how disorganized they were. I don’t know how long they have been open, and maybe things will get better, but there are definitely better places in Worcester to eat and I probably won’t be spending my money at Tatnuck Grille again.

Love going for wings on Sundays, the bartender is great, very friendly, great drinks, very good at upselling. The restaurant on the weekends is fun, the whole staff is great, very willing to do whatever it is you want to make you happy. Great place in a great neighborhood.

The atmosphere is nice, great place to see a game if you’re not a large group. The waitress was super sweet, and very attentive. To be fair, we were the only table in there since we went at an odd time, during a snowstorm. The food was exactly what you’d expect from an American pub. Also, my hubby enjoyed a good burger, but if you don’t like burgers or seafood, your choices are fairly limited. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was pretty decent too. Also, the fried pickles were definitely good, though be prepared for serious spice compared to other places. A heads up, for two sodas, fried pickles, a burger and a chicken sandwich, the bill was $ 36, before tip. Meaning, if you looking for a cheap lunch, look elsewhere. On the plus, there’s a 72″ hi def and the décor is nice.

I’m giving Tatnuck Grille 2.5 stars, and I think that is pretty generous. I wrote it as 3 just to give them a star-advantage, because I really want them to be good. I’ve been here twice, and I have concluded that I really want to like them. I just don’t, yet. I went here shortly after they opened and it was pretty bad. Like, bad. We sat at the bar and waited several minutes before we were acknowledged. A couple came in and sat next to us and they were greeted right away. The woman ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and they said they were all out, so she ended up with a Chardonnay(I overheard the whole back and forth conversation). The bartender then came to take my order and I ordered a Cab. Sauv. She returned about 5 minutes later with a white wine. I explained to her that i had ordered a cabernet, and shes like«Yeah, i know» so i responded with, «then what is that?» and she said«You ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc, right?» Wow. She was super nice, but still. I mean, literally 6 minutes before this, she explained to the person right next to me that they didnt have Sauv. Blanc and then that happened. It was just an awkward situation, and one that i don;t expect for $ 8-$ 10 per glass of wine. I thought, «whatever, she is new» and we moved on. We got a few appetizers to share. We had tuna sashimi and oysters, both of which were«meh» at best. The sashimi was really pale in color like it had been frozen, and it really lacked flavor. The oysters were fresh, but huge. It’s my own personal taste, but I’m just not a fan of oversized oysters. So, experience #1= not that great. We returned to give this place another shot, but still, we were not impressed. We ordered drinks(I ordered a cocktail special, and my friend ordered wine) and they were very cheaply made. The drink that I ordered advertised as being made with Baileys, and it was made with some other cheap irish liquor. They also use REALLY bad well liquors(like Barnett’s vodka– stuff I didn’t even touch as a college freshman). These drinks aren’t cheap, either! I just thought it was trashy, and I was upset by the false advertising of the cocktails. They serve $ 5 bottles of wine for $ 7-$ 8 per glass, too(I saw«Salmon Creek» and some other really cheap one…) Anyways, moving on to the food. They serve bread and oil, which I always love. The oil was really heavily spiced, but good nonetheless. For food, we split mussels as an appetizer and a burger as our dinner, both of were decent but certainly not great. They were cooked well, and the portions were definitely big enough to share, but something was off with their spices. I just think they over-spice things, and it is not like a nice, fresh herb taste– its like a cheap, dried spices taste. I don’t know how to describe it other than to say it wasn’t all that awesome. The reason I am being so critical is because this place isn’t cheap. I think, after adding cheese and sauces and stuff, our burger was $ 15 or $ 16 dollars(TOTALLY not worth it). The drinks bothered me, too. My final complaint involves the way the owner(?) handled a clearly intoxicated customer when we were there. Some guy came in(older, mid 50’s maybe) with a woman, and both of them were clearly already intoxicated. The reeked of beer and cigarettes and were just obnoxious from the get-go. They had a friendly rapport with the bartender and the owner, so i’m assuming they had been there before. Anyways, they ordered beers and were served(they had at least 2 each within a few minutes). Then they guy ordered a shot of Jack Daniels. The bartender acted very responsibly and told him she couldnt serve him that. Then, the owner(in front of the rest of the bar), «jokingly» snapped at her and made her serve it. He then had another. He was trashed, and I felt so disgusted by the fact that this behavior was being encouraged in a family-style restaurant. I just hope that they get their act together. Its kind of ghetto, but I think there is(at least a little bit) of hope for it.

We’ve eaten here twice now. The food is standard American comfort-food fare, with a little bar and grill type stuff mixed in. It’s not the best food I’ve ever eaten, but it gets the job done. I like the variety on the menu. It’s in a great location.

Went there for lunch with a colleague yesterday. The best I can say about the Tatnuck Grille is that it is «okay». Not spectacular or unique, just«okay». The waitstaff was friendly and nice. They were the best part of the experience. The décor is good, with pictures on the wall to look at(we sat under a picture of Lucy and Ethel from I Love Lucy). My colleague and I both had the ½ sandwich and soup: me, the chicken salad on rye. The ½ sandwich was REALLY small. If it was a full sandwich, it would still be small. It was as if they took the small pieces at the end of the loaf and made the sandwich out of it. The chicken salad was boring. Basically, chicken and mayo — no flavor. The Taynuck Grille is new, and I hope over time will improve. But for now, it really isn’t «something to write home about».
