Came here yesterday, & it was recommended by my buddies. Love the décor & ambiance of the restaurant. There is patio seating, but no alcohol allowed. I ordered a white wine & their famous fish & chips. It came with a huge portion of fried fish, coleslaw & fries.($ 12.99). I was stuffed. good food & good service. Waitresses are very friendly. Will definitely be back !!!

First time here yesterday. Food was GREAT. Not much of a beer special for a SATURDAY, but, decent prices on beers & the service was good for it being a weekend and them only having two waiters. The inside is really cool & they have a full bar. We got the buffalo chicken wrap and the chicken nachos, good quality food! We will be back for sure.

Three strikes and you’re out. I don’t even know why I tried it a third time. Oh, I remember. It’s because Harold’s(just a couple of storefronts away) charges $ 20 for hummus and I have a teenage son who is always famished. ½ Star: The broiled fish is always overcooked and the mystery«butter» they top it with is a scary shade of yellow and tastes«off.» Crossing my fingers for a good cook to be working in the back of the house, I ordered broiled fish, grilled veggies and brussels sprouts. Absolutely disgusting. The fish was so overcooked it was like leather. The brussels sprouts were drenched in a sickeningly sweet something or other that may have been spinach salad dressing. The«grilled» veggies were swimming in some kind of brown sauce(no guess what it could have been and the waitress didn’t even know). The mixture of three sauces went up 2⁄3 of my plate and looked, smelled and tasted disgusting — I sent it back and went home hungry. ½ Star: New England Reuben — this is just a really bad fish sandwich. 3 Stars — Decent tasty burger, undercooked, limp fries. 3 Stars — Potato skins — nice, but average Go if you must, but consider yourself warned.

This has always been my go to spot for best fish n chips in Columbus, not sure what they did and if it is system wide but the fish is not the same as in the past. The pieces are alot smaller and thinner. The thicker version was more moist and a better piece of fish. Disappointed that it is not the same. I guess fish prices went up.

Every single time I have a lapse in judgment and give you another chance you fail abysmally. I popped in on St. Patrick’s Day for a Guinness and maybe some fish and chips. I ended up ordering the business lunch special which was the Hob Nob fish sandwich and an «adult» beverage for 9.99. It would be a great deal except it was gross. The fish was soggy and not crisp even in the slightest. The bigger problem was the rude daytime bartender. Ugh OBON I can’t wait for something better to replace you.

If it was possible to give this place 2.5 stars I would. The service is nice and the atmosphere is relaxing but the food is sub par. They only have fish and burgers so if you don’t like fish or burgers, this isn’t the place for you. However, it was a place to eat. If I had to, I would get another burger here. But if I had the choice, I would eat somewhere else. Ps. The fish and chips is not what it’s been talked up to be.

This is a great casual pub with quality food and service! It’s where we head when we want some good seafood yet nothing too fancy. My husband loves the all you can eat fried fish. I’ve had the blackened cod and the soup and salad combo, both were delicious! I also enjoy how you can get multiple veggie sides in-place of fries. It’s a small place so we appreciate the call-ahead option on the weekends.

Table was sticky, restaurant was tiny and crowded, service was less than adequate. Food did not live up to the hype, was average at best. Wouldn’t recommend, and I will never return.

I work in the area and love their lunch special during the week– ½ sandwich and side for 6.99. Always quick service and very friendly!

From the start, outstanding. Happy hour 2 dollars off beer and apps. Muscles and shrimp with garlic bread for dipping and fried pickles. Fish and chips for the wife. All you can eat shrimp and chips for me. Very good.

I would only come here if the weather is nice enough to eat outside. It’s too cramped inside for my liking. Only downside to sitting outside, is you can’t have alcohol on the patio. But, we come for the food! Best fish and chips in town! Walk across the street for Graeter’s when you’re done.

I’ve been going to this place since they opened up in 1996(I think! It was a long time ago!). The decorations are just want you want from a pub: a lot of beer cans on the wall, a few TVs on the walls, fitting pictures all over. It’s not a large place, so don’t bring you and 20 friends. A group of four is probably the maximum number of friends you want to bring. First, happy hour is until 7, even on Fridays. Get your Irish on with some Guinness or a few bucks off another draft. Get the fish and chips. You will love it. Or get a Gaylord burger, the single restaurant item I have probably ordered more than anything in my life. It’s a solid burger, and you get a lot of fries with it. I don’t think I have ordered anything else other than those two dishes in the entire time I’ve been there. For a place to stay open for this long, especially in a place like Worthington where there is a new shop every month, is very impressive and I don’t doubt it’s because of their dedication to consistency. I have such great nostalgic feelings when coming back to this place almost two decades later and I love that The Old Bag of Nails still stands. The place hasn’t seemingly changed in years, and that is a very good thing.

Went for lunch, ordered Fish & chips and lobster roll with corn. Excellent food but pricy, try to use the online coupon. Our server, Daniel, provided very good service, thanks!

Great pub food and the best fish and chips in the city. Their beer selection is also pretty good here so check that out! But when you come here just get the fish and chips(or any of the other fries seafood). Their batter is on point and not too oily with the right amount of vinegar. The fries are great too. Also be sure to look out for their specials cause some days they have all you can eat in certain menu items. And trust me, you’ll be wanting more. This location is great too, right in the heart of worthington with lots of cool shops around. They have parking in the rear I believe, but there’s also plenty of street parking in the area if you can’t find a spot.

We’ve giving this place a shot twice now. First time was about 6 weeks ago. Rode our bikes here and had a late lunch on the sidewalk area at about 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Servers were polite, but food was ridiculously slow(took almost an hour for a couple of sandwiches). I didn’t post a review at that time after learning that they had just hired a new cook, and this was his first day.(Give the guy a break, right?)(Food was also a 2 star. Poor.) We rode our bikes here again today. Same exact experience. My husband and I split a tuna melt. Prompt, polite wait staff checked on us often, filling water glasses and even giving our dog a bowl of water. After about 40 minutes, another employee(manager maybe?) came over to apologize for the wait and offered us complimentary salad/soup while we waited.(Excuse was that the cook hadn’t made up the tuna salad prior to lunch. It was 12:00 sharp.) The sandwich arrived and it was poor. Barely any tuna ‘salad’ on the bread. . thin slice of cheddar and that was it. No lettuce. No tomato. Very dry and boring. Another family was dining outdoors while we were there and their food was taking equally as long to arrive, and the servers were apologizing profusely to them as well. I overheard the excuse to them was that there was a new cook in the kitchen. Their food arrived as we were leaving, and the newest disappointment sounded like the order was wrong(after such a long wait). It appears that this location has a hard time keeping cooks. We live in Grandview Heights and LOVE the Old Bag of Nails Pub there.

Come here for the fish and chips! The fish was nice and flaky and I loved that it was lightly battered, but still super crispy! We also tried the special lobster roll. I love lobster, but this was actually my first lobster roll. It was lightly drizzled with mayo and came in a bun that I think was a little too thick. I tore off a big chunk on both ends because I didn’t want to just eat the bread. The lobster itself was good though. I ordered corn as a side and it came as 3 small pieces of corn on the cob. It was drenched in butter and I could only manage to eat one piece. But I’m sure some people would love all that butter… like my husband who ate the other two pieces! We also had the sauerkraut balls, which were good, but came out a little cold– warm would’ve been better! There wasn’t a super strong sauerkraut taste, which I liked. Overall, a good experience here! It’s smaller than some of the other old bag of nails I’ve been to, but it’s cozy :)

This is my favorite bar in the city. It’s small, cozy, the staff is really friendly and the food is killer. Talk about delicious burgers? I’d go to the Bag of Nails over FlipSide, Bar145 or any specialty burger joint. Pair it with cold beer(they rotate seasonal beers frequently!) and get ready to have a good night. I’ve heard there is another location, but the charm of this tiny Old Worthington pub is what makes it feel special.

This one is smaller than the Westerville location which is closer to me but has better food in my honest opinion. I ordered the Fishermen’s Platter. You get 2 pieces of fish, fried shrimp, scallops & fries. I was starving when I came in here and it really hit the spot! Best deep fried batter in Columbus. My friend ordered the tomato basil soup & she said it was the best she ever had better than Cap City Dinner. I asked to try and and it was damn good & I don’t even like tomato basil soup. If you haven’t tried the deep fried Snickers you should!
