This place pours a proper pint and the craic is usually great. Wish they still did weekend sessiuns, hopefully they will bring that back. To those complaining about food, sure it could be better but its really not the main reason I come here.

I visited Mr. Dooleys on a Saturday afternoon for lunch after a long morning of shopping at Wrentham Village. Clean, friendly and comfortable the menu is full of great pub like items. All freshly made, per the friendly staff, each item was clearly listed. I chose the steak panini, tender and tasty on a nicely crisp ciabatta roll and home made warm potato chips, lightly salted. It was wonderful. My friend chose the fish sandwich with handcuffs fries. Served with a nice cole slaw side. Not greasy at all and a light batter on the fish made this a great sandwich. As it was lunch, we chose not to partake of the many beer choices on tap. But next time… And there will, be a next time. I want to try the shepards pie. They do have entertainment in the evening, open mic nights, darts, trivia. I’m hoping they add karaōke… Don’t be turned off by the amount of cars in the lot, the dining room is large and no one carpools. Go in and enjoy. Ask for Barb as your waitress, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was kind of lousy. The waitress was very nice and sweet, however service was very slow. I felt that the quality of the food was terrible and then it was over priced.

They serve Guinness. Most of the food items are delicious(e.g. Guinness steak tips) and they have live entertainment. And then there is Guinness :) The is one of my favorite places to go.

I’ve been a regular for a few years now and I love it still. New special — baked satay wings — one word — absolute perfection. Please add to regular menu.

We stopped in here one night just looking for a place to watch the Bruins game, and wound up really loving the place. The food was just right — good food reasonably priced and served with a smile. My husband raved about the steak tips, and I had an Irish wrap which was quite good. Dooley’s blows away some of the other local pubs in terms of food and service

First, I have to say that I absolutely LOVE Mr. Dooley’s in Boston! We went to the Wrentham location hoping to fall in love with this restaurant. But this was not to be the case. The place is nicely decorated and looks the part of an Irish country cottage. But the large screen TVs don’t fit. And listening to Boy George singing(loudly) «Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?» made me question their choice of background music.(We arrived before the live music scheduled for later that evening.) The food was not great. Actually, everything seemed quite dry — from my wife’s burger to my ceasar salad with beef and shrimp. Maybe they think if the food is dry the patrons will drink more. Mr. Dooley’s Red Ale is a favorite at the Boston location, so why don’t they have it in Wrentham? I hope Mr. Dooley’s management takes a hard look at the Wrentham location and turns it around.

Closed my tab after the boyfriend was buying rounds, expected to be appalled by the price but it was only $ 26 for a bunch of drinks. They have Magners on tab too which is always a plus. The only food I ate here was some fries as there was an event with food buffet. They let us rent the entire place on a Saturday night. There was plenty of staff but the bar was a little crowded.

Dooley’s is a pretty good place to get a drink and food. Their drinks can be a bit pricey($ 7 for a tall), but besides that, prices are okay. Although I’ve only really gotten a sandwich there, it was real good. They have homemade potato chips for free with your meal — those are really good! Wednesday Night Trivia!

Clearly this place needs some attention. On a Friday nite, the restaurant had plenty of available seats at both the bar and the dining room. We chose to sit at the bar. I ordered a draft beer and it was almost warm. We ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer that was on special that evening. Unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for it to arrive. When it finally arrived, it was outstanding. The rest of the meal arrived in a timely manner. I ordered the steak tips marinated in Guiness stout but could not taste any marinade. My partner had what seemed to be a chicken pot pie on the menu but was basically a bowl of mashed potato, diced potato, and diced chicken. Tasteless. The owners/management of Somers Pubs might want to pay more attention to this place. The bartenders did not know how to make a Seabreeze, a basic cocktail, and the kitchen seemd to struggle, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all.

I’m a Wrentham native and I’m damn impressed by this place. It used to be a total dive but the new owners turned it into a destination, not just a place that I drive by and go, «uhg, ill never go in there.» Good food, friendly staff, beer = yum. That’s all.

This a great little Irish Pub for the suburbs. If you live out near Wrentham and don’t feel like going all the way into Boston, this is a fun alternative. I love going on wednesdays for Trivia. They don’t have any drink or food discounts on trivia night which is kind of disappointing, but hasn’t been a reason for me not to return.

Mr. Dooleys in Wrentham is the suburban entry of the Somers Pubs which has pubs located throughout Boston. I believe the owner lives in the local area and must of wanted a place close to home without all of the screaming college kids at Green Dragon, Hennessys and Paddy O’s. The building has been renovated to look like an authentic Irish pub and is very inviting. We enjoyed their tender tereyaki steak tip dinner which came with choice of potatoes and veggie. If not for a disappointing fish and chip dinner, I would have gone with 4 stars. Dooleys has music including traditional music, several days a week and pours a good Guinness. We sat in an insulated high top booth and appreciated the privacy. The isolated location does make you feel like you are pulling up to McGann’s in Doolin Ireland not 15 mins south of Gillette Stadium.

In my mind this should be described as an Irish pub, not a restaurant. Because of that description, I don’t expect certain things. One being food that deserves a spectacular mouth watering write up. It doesn’t, it is good basic food. Shepard’s pie, beef stew, bangers and mash, of course they are on the menu. And ya know what? They are not gourmet items, well, at least they shouldn’t attempt to be. Don’t go in looking for something more than that, your expectations shouldn’t be so high in this type of establishment. Waitstaff, I have never had a problem here. Every waitress we have had has been on the ball. We were even there on St. Patrick’s Day and we had no problems with the waitstaff. A quiet intimate meal, not gonna happen. You are sitting in close proximity to your fellow diners. And you know what, that’s okay because you never know who you might strike up a conversation with if you are so inclined. Music starts at 8, so you can plan appropriately for that. They pull a proper pint. It is not an overwhelming beer list. They probably could use more choices. I am not complaining though, Harpoon, Sam and Smithwick’s on tap. Of course Guinness. A great addition to the area in my mind. We will continue to go back.

I was invited to meet some friends last night. What a great place! Cozy atmosphere, great music(I don’t know what people are saying about it being too loud, it was definitely perfect last night), good drinks, and yummy food. My friends introduced me to «yummy juice» which was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, and everything was worth what we paid and more. Will absolutely be back!

This definitely would not be my first choice of restaurant/bar in the area. We went for drinks and had the sampler appetizer with nachos, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers. It was big and actually pretty good. This is food that just about anyone can do well, but at least they didn’t screw it up. The inside looked a little depressed and the seats(at least where I was) were very uncomfortable. This was made worse by speed(or lack of speed) of our waitress. We didn’t get anything out of the ordinary, but she struggled to meet our needs at an acceptable pace. Unfortunately, nothing about my experience here would convince me to try it again.

There are a lot of complaints on here about the music being too loud, which I think is just plain ridiculous. You shouldn’t go to an authentic Irish Pub if you’re looking for quiet dinner conversation. All of the really authentic Irish pubs in Boston have traditional Irish bands playing, often at pretty loud volumes, and I’ve been to Ireland, where it’s the same deal. That’s the route Mr. Dooley’s has chosen to take, and I’m glad because I had a fantastic time! I came here with my sister and my parents(aka, not a bunch of obnoxious drunkards), who had all heard about this place. I hadn’t heard of it, but cheerfully agreed to try it, since I love me some Irish pubs! Mr. Dooley’s did not disappoint! This was definitely one of the most authentic feeling Irish pubs I’ve been in since my trip to Ireland. Our waitress was a complete sweetheart, and was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. She happily answered our questions and did a fantastic job all around. The food was also great. My sister and I split the stuffed quahogs, which were really yummy, and I ordered the bangers and mash. Talk about feeling like I was back across«the pond»! The bangers(sausages) tasted just like the ones I had over in Ireland! Awesome! The band that was playing was called The Locals, and all of us enjoyed them a lot. Both of the guys were great singers, and I loved the Irish flute. I will definitely be checking out the events calendar on Mr. Dooley’s website so I can come back to listen to them again.

First off, thank you to the proprietors of Mr. Dooley’s. A new restaurant was needed, very badly, in Wrentham. And to get an authentic Irish Pub is icing on the cake. The owner did a complete and very nice rehab of the former Anvil Pub. The got everything right. Step through the front door and you are transported to a great Irish pub, kind of like Johnnie Foxes in Glencullen, Ireland. Now for the food. I’ve been there three times so far and have not been disappointed. Shepard’s Pie… just right for a cold, windy night. Mac and Cheese.fantastic. Seafood is fresh and expertly prepared. And maybe, most importantly, they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Oh yeah, they have actual real Irish musicians to entertain you on weekends. Damn, I just talked myself into going there tonight.

Mr. Dooley’s has a successful pub in Boston, and this one hopefully will be living up to its name. It just opened a few weeks ago, so my bestfriend(who lives in Wrentham) thought it’d be a good idea to go check it out. The interior décor is really nice: Irish cottage on one side(dining room) and pub on the other. We were greeted by the manager and taken to the dining room(we had a party of 7). We had made a reservation, so everything was ready for our arrival. The waitress was clearly new to her job, and although she made a few mistakes, she was very kind and attentive. Having been a waitress for a few years, I understand completely the stress of a new restaurant. I sympathised. The manager was also very attentive, but in a nervous way. I was told by a friend that this was his first time flying solo in the Somers Pub franchise. Again, understandable. What really surprised all of us was the food. It was absolutely delicious. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and it was perfection. All the ingredients were fresh, and there were more vegetables than cheese(most places over do it on the cheese to hide the fact that the vegetables have come out of a can). The seasoned fries were very good, too. Most of my friends got burgers, and they were all very happy with their orders. Can’t say anything bad about the drinks — in true Irish fashion, we all had beer. I am giving this 3⁄5 stars because it is a new business and has the potential for 4⁄5 stars. I don’t think it will reach 5⁄5 because it is in Wrentham, and therefore will probably be filled up with local drunks sooner rather than later. Such is the fate of most bars/pubs in small towns. If you’re shopping at the Wrentham outlets and want a great meal and good beer, definitely stop by Mr. Dooley’s. It’s worth it.
