Could have been better. Mac and cheese not even warm. Cranberry sauce on chicken sandwich made bread soggy, not much taste.

Food totally inedible Had to be thrown out. Stopped at Waxy’s last Saturday coming back late from a sporting event. Pubgrub to go sounded good, so I searched the area and came up with Waxy’s. What a huge, huge waste of money. The food was totally disgusting. I got mac and cheese and it was like someone had taken slices of Velveeta and melted them over pasta in the microwave. My husband’s meal was pretty gross too. What a tremendous waste of money. Eat elsewhere.

Ordered the gluten free fish tacos. Was brought a plate of tortilla chips with two tiny pieces of fish on them, and some sauce drizzled over the top. Dafuq is that? Service not the best — glasses sat empty for a long time. How much money are you leaving on the table, Waxy’s, by not keeping the glasses full? Server was otherwise personable so maybe she was extremely busy. Last, their handy tipping chart on the receipt takes tax into account(ie you are tipping on the taxed amount). Some people probably do that anyway, but, be aware.

Went for drinks and an app… Waitress got the drinks, never checked in again, called her over to ask where the app was– her response was, «oops. I forgot. You should have told me.» I thought ordering it the first time was«telling her» ???

Went to watch a ufc fight, had a terrible band playing… didn’t have the sound on the fight, was out of my favorite beer… if not for the super friendly and on point waitress, it would have been a one star night.

Never had a bad meal! Always had great service… Can be loud late night or if there’s a party but there’s quiet spots or eat on the patio! Wings are excellent and great burgers! Just wish they had better rolls… They are a lil too thick

My rating is strictly based on an experience I just had with the bartender. At the end of the night I left my debit card after signing for the check. Not my finest moment but it happens. I called to make sure they had it then went to go pick it up. I get there and there’s no staff around(people were waiting to be seated just looking around). So I walk up to the bar. Now, I work in the service industry and train staff on how customers should be treated. I’ve been screamed at, threatened, insulted, you name it. So I make a point to be overly nice to people that work in service positions. The bartender comes over and asks me what I need. So I say politely and a little embarrassed«I called earlier. I left my debit card here last night.» At which point she cuts me off and says in the rudest tone possible«Um ya I’m not looking for your debit card you’ll have to ask the manager.» I was completely caught off guard and just kind of stood there staring at her in shock. So then she says«what?! I don’t have time to find your card.» So I say«where should I go to find the manager?» And she says«ya I’ll see if she can help you.» The bartender then takes two steps to her right starts pouring a beer and starts talking to another customer about me. She says«I’m working a party and serving all of you guys and this girl thinks I’m just gonna go get her card.» Again, I stand there in shock. I waited a while and after it became clear she was not going to get anyone for me I started walking around hoping to find ANYONE else. A waitress walked up to me and politely asked if I was ok. I asked if I could talk to a manager. She asked for my name and why I needed a manager. I said«I just want my debit card back and quite frankly your bartender was just horrible to me.» To which she responds«oh believe me, I know. I’m really sorry.» She then walked away to get my card. Then the bartender comes over to the bar close to where I am and says in a very accusatory way«what did you just ask her? Is she getting the manager? I did want to help you.» So I said«you really shouldn’t talk about customers right in front of them.» She responds«you know something, there’s about 70 cards back there and I don’t have time to look for yours.» She then walks over to another customer and says«I’m doing so much and now I have this crazy girl screaming at me.» The waitress came back with my card(about 65 seconds after she left). I apologized that she had to deal with someone like that at work, she thanked me, and I left. My advice to management: cut your loses with the bartender working right now(March 8th at about 2:00pm). I hope I never meet someone as rude as her again. I will never be back here with my friends.

YUK! bad all around. sent my dinner back(chicken Tikki Marsala), which I’m not sure I have ever done that before. OK maybe it seems odd to order Indian in an Irish pub, but Indian food is quite popular in the UK so it certainly makes sense to see it offered on the menu. The bed of rice it was on was crunchy and dry, the flavor of the dish was sour. I was afraid it turned. So I returned it as I was afraid to get sick. I was hungry, so I decided to stick with an appetizer thinking that would be safe. I opted for some silly app with«crack» in the name. I think they were supposed to be deep fried balls of colcannon, but instead were just bland, completely unseasoned mashed potatoes. I started to cut them all in ½ to see what is inside and only found 1 piece of scallion in the plate for them. Thank god they put mustard to dip them in. Blah! but at least I won’t get sick. My son just ordered plain pasta… which was $ 7 off the children’s menu. normally, restaurants give, what I think, is a ridiculous amount of food for a child. Not here. For $ 7, we got a saucer full of orecchiette that was obviously nuked as some pieces he could not eat as they were hard and opaque from over-nuking. I mean really, you can’t even boil pasta. Complete waste of $ 60

I never think of Waxys as a place to go when I’m thinking of food options. Today my bf and I decided to go for lunch, bc it was in the general direction we were headed and we are sick of the same restaurants around us. We each had a burger(I had the veggie one, he had the one with the pineapple). Both were great and they actually cooked his medium rare! Ann was on the bar and was great too! She was friendly, helpful and checked back on us in a timely manner.

This review is strictly for the«Waxy Taxi» — the business’ shuttle service to and from Gillette Stadium on Patriots game days. The pitch? For a nominal fee($ 25 per person), you park at Waxy’s, are treated to a pre-game buffet, then a shuttle takes you to the game 45 minutes before game time and picks you up 45 minutes after the game is over. Their ads run all the time on sports radio. The«shuttle» was actually a big yellow school bus. Now I’m no prima donna. If this were the only corner cut by Waxy’s, I could absolutely forgive it. There’s something hilarious about a bunch of grown adults in NFL apparel riding a school bus to a game. But let’s look at that the pre-game buffet, shall we? There are better lunch offerings at a public school cafeteria. Even the butane warmers seemed depressed to be there. Your options were sad butter noodles, dried out tiny chicken wings, and assorted greens assumed to be a salad. Granted, this was prior to the night game against the Bengals, so perhaps the breakfast brunch is better handled? Either way, this buffet was sad and gross. My advice? Do away with it and simply offer half-price apps or something. It just looks bad on their part. Then there was the pick-up/drop-off location. Since I can only assume the Krafts make you pay some kind of «shuttle fee» to use the main entrance, we were dropped off in an industrial park adjacent to the stadium. It wouldn’t have been so bad, except that you had to cross the commuter rail line tracks complete with trains parked in order to get to the parking lot. That above fact is a key bit of information that the staff at Waxy’s seemed to forget to mention to us. It becomes even more crucial after the game because the train engines are on and are idling, and it’s actually pretty dangerous to cross the tracks when you don’t know the schedule. Luckily, we were pretty sauced, so crossing UNDERTHECOMMUTERRAIL actually seemed like a good idea. In retrospect, it was extraordinarily dangerous and seems like a law suit waiting to happen for the first person injured. When we got back to Waxy’s — well after midnight, when the bar itself was no longer opened for business — we had to negotiate, beg and plead for them to open the front doors so we could USETHERESTROOMS. That’s right. We waited on the bus for about an hour to get from the industrial park back to Waxy’s and upon return, they had no intention of letting us use the bathrooms. Another important bit of information they might have wanted to relay to us before we left Gillette. So all in all, you might hear the ads on 98.5 The Sports Hub for the«Waxy Taxi,» but there are actually numerous shuttles in and around Foxborough to choose from. Spend a little more and don’t get treated like crap.

I once wrote here the food was good, only good. Since my review they have changed chefs and management. Food is really solid now with the Waxy Burger standing atop the menu. The pizzas are grilled and more than enough to share for 2. If you tried once, try again.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon. What better than the comfort food of an Irish Pub. Or so we thought. We came in from the rain only to find we needed to leave our coats on because it was so cold inside. Our waitress and the girl that was training her were very nice, and it was likely not their fault that our soup and salad came out less than 3 minutes before our entrées. It was not that busy, so I was a bit surprised on the lack of timing. I had to send my soup away so my dinner wouldn’t be cold by the time I got to it. My wife ordered her tips well done. It would have been nice to all eat together, but she had to send them back to finish cooking. Other than these few mishaps, the food was actually good, and I would go back to give them another chance.

I love the layout and style of Waxy’s– it’s a huge pub with lots of rooms. In the summer, it’s great to sit outside on their veranda(especially for drinks after work). We went last night for a friend’s birthday and they gave us our own big room. They’ve got a lot of beers on tap for you to choose from. I had the Kobe sliders — it was pretty good but a too well done and lacking in cheese. The home-made chips were delicious! The hubs had a BYO burger and loved it, but wished their was more fries that came with it. The entertainment was pretty bad. They had some comedian/singer performing and we just didn’t like him– we missed the DJ they normally have on Friday nights.

This is a difficult review because I have been here twice. Once was pretty good, once was extraordinarily bad. So, for the good… A friend of mine was home from Germany and a friend of his band was playing here. We decided it was exactly what we were looking for and make the trek to Waxy’s. It was not very crowded but we did get there a bit early. The bar itself is pretty large and it extends in to two rooms. There is the section where the tables are and the majority of the TVS. Then it extends in to the area where the bans are set up to play. We did not eat here. We just had drinks. The service was excellent. we got drinks very quickly and there is a lot to choose from. Prices are a bit high considering this is Foxboro and not Boston. The band was very good. We really had a lit of fun and rarely waited for drinks… I believe our Bartenders name was Dave and he was great all night. Now the bad… New Year’s Eve. We had gone to the Bruins game that night and wanted to head back somewhere local. We called Waxy O’Connors and they said they have a band and a free Chinese Buffett. No cover charge. we thought that was a great deal… We arrived expecting it to be packed, surprisingly it was not. Frankly, the Saturday night we had been previously was about as busy as New year’s Eve. Anyway, we got there around 1045 and people were smashed out of their tree. Now, of course we expected that. However, the crew in this place seems like they all just got their high school diplomas. I may have even seen a guy or two wearing their lettered high school football jackets. At one point, I was waiting for my Brother to come in, there was one guy sitting at a long table. I put my beer down and he says«This is a private table dude» huh? I may have asked him if it comes with a lap dance. Anyway, it was pretty clear the place was full up of the«never got out of high school» I am still a major loser characters. But I was there with good friends and we were going to have a good time… My Brother and I actually scored seats at the bar, we thought we struck gold… NOT so much… the service? HORRIBLE!!! I swear to God I bet you get drinks faster at the TGI Fridays in Iraq during a bomb scare. One bartender, Cassandra, MISERABLE! Usually bartenders love this night, I mean you are going to CLEAN up on tips. However, Cassandra looked like someone had just kicked her cat under a speeding train or something. Consistently walked by ours, a long with everybody else’s empty glasses. When you had the gall to ask her for a drink(You basically had to flag her down with one of those construction flags they wave. I was looking for a hard hat to put on too). Anyway, she would make this face like«what the hell do you want»? slams the drink down in front of you(we got shots and she spilled a tiny bit on me) and she would run off. I have never seen anything like it and I go to bars A LOT. The Chinese buffet? Well, let’s put it this way. Pretty sure I saw a couple of homeless people pass up what they put out to eat. The sorriest looking Chinese food I have ever seen. Maybe that is where the bartenders cat ended up? Anyway, we will not back… Based purely on that bartender and service. Way to many watering holes happy you are there than to go deal with that wretched dish rag. Finally, my Brother left a tip of 1.00 to get his point across that you suck. he checked his statement, it was 7.00! They changed it! He called and complained and spoke to a manger who seemed very upset this had happened(and not surprised that Cassandra the dish rag was being called out again) and he said he would refund the whole check! Guess what? yeah, they NEVER did BIG shock. Oh, to top it off, there was almost a HUGE brawl that spilled out from the room where the band played in to the bar area. Bartenders hopped over the bar to get involved(girl next to me actually got kicked). I had to put a barricade of chairs in front of MYGF. good times. Below based on 5 stars Location **(police have been know to frequently sit and wait for you to leave) Atmosphere *** Service ½ Décor *** Restroom *** Overall **(only reason for 2 stars is Dave the bartender who clearly cares and works hard).

Stopped in the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. We were hesitant as we thought it might be crowded, big weekend in the Boston area. The place was pretty empty. No biggie, we thought we were kind of lucky. Well, we weren’t. Grabbed a seat at the bar and waited. About 5 minutes in we heard someone tell us he would be with us in a minute, so we waited. When he took our drink orders we told him we’d like to see the menu. Drinks came, no menu. Should have taken this starter experience as a hint. Apparently the person who pulled us our drafts was the«general manager» and he was trying to do 15 different things at once. Fine, I get that, but have enough waitstaff and bartenders on an average Saturday, let alone the one before St. Patrick’s Day. All they really needed was a full staff for a Saturday by the looks of the crowd. When we got our menus, we waited and waited, no one checked to see if we wanted to order. That was fine, because we had made up our minds to leave. See, the beer was off, and we each got two different beers, one Smithwick’s and one Sam Adams. We know our beer, and it was not good here. I think their tap lines need serious cleaning. We left and went to a real Irish pub and had good beers from clean tap lines. Had some good fish & chips and a Reuben. In an area with tons of Irish places, don’t go here, you can do so much better. So can they, too bad they don’t care to.
