Thought we would give it another try for dinner and here’s our experience. We walked in and the music was so loud we spoke about turning around and leaving but we stayed and sat away from the bar thinking it would be quieter, still the music was so loud. Ordered the steak tips which were good, the smashed garlic potatoes I could not eat as they were loaded with salt, and I mean loaded. The nachos were good, the steak was ok but a lot of gristle and the steamed broccoli was buttered and salted. No one was at the tables except for another couple and I think its more of a bar like atmosphere now, not what it used to be years ago where it was a good place to eat with steamed mussles and all sorts of good foods on the menu.

Where do I begin? What a nightmare. I wonder if the Wrentham Tavern recycles used scraps of their locals waste for pure profit. This dumpster dive left the most disgusting taste in my mouth after I was charged for a burger that my girlfriend could not even touch. Possibly out of fear that it would have come alive and eaten her instead. There was maybe enough char on her burger to fill in some residential potholes. Plus my chicken parm sandwich was essentially an out of box overly processed patty of chicken gizzards microwaved with maybe one beat down cherry tomato as the sauce. You might have to sign a waiver before eating here to qualify for a stomach pump.

This place deserves less than one star, my boyfriend and I went here the other night I ordered a cheeseburger it was completely burnt so I sent it back. The second one comes out and it’s even more burnt than before!!! Long story short I lost my appetite and no longer wanted to eat at the establishment, in total I took maybe a quarter of a bite of the burger and had her take both of them back. I asked her to just bring us the check because I no longer wanted anything else. When she comes over she hands my boyfriend the check and the waitress says«oh I took five dollars off the burger«this is ridiculous considering I never even touched the burger so bottom line she should have comped it. DONTGOHEREITSUCKS!!!

Food taste quality varies. As of the time of this posting, the food was a 5, but one year ago we pretty much stopped going. We walked in during a World Cup Quarterfinal game… and they had golf on most of the TVs. We walked back out and went to Mr. Dooley’s which is a couple doors down.

Good pizza, beer, etc. Could come down in price slightly, but decent experience overall.

Not impressed! Pizza was bland. The buffalo tenders were good, and the onion rings. Not worth 80 bucks for lunch without alcohol.

Best pizza I have ever had. And I consider myself a connoisseur. Waitstaff was great. Drinks were excellent. Patrons were fun. Just do not get the clams.

We came here the other night to check it out and grab some dinner. Driven past it many times. It was pretty empty, so we didn’t have a problem finding a table, as we could seat ourselves. For an appetizer we ordered the fried calamari. Wasn’t too bad, could have done with a little more calamari and less hot peppers. For my entrée I ordered the fried clam strip dinner. The coleslaw was tasty, but the clam strips were over fried and I had to leave a few on my plate. This dish cost $ 15.99, which was really high considering the quality. They should consider bringing this down to $ 11.99 and think more about the quality of the strips. The shoestring fries were good. My hubby had the fish and chips. Again, the fries and coleslaw were good, but his fish had about a half-inch of thick stodgy batter. This dish was priced, about the same. Overall, we won’t be going back. The food is over-priced and the quality just isn’t there compared to some of the other pubs or taverns in the area.

Mr Doolys was a mess tonight, so went here. Nice local crowd having a good time. Nice staff. Cold beer. Had a pizza this time — fantastic! No complaints whatsoever. Will be back — again…

I was happy to know that this place existed so that we didn’t have to go to a God Awful chain near the outlets. I don’t know what one-star reviewers are expecting when they come into a local tavern… a red carpet? Marble tables? I don’t know… anyway… I got the buffalo chicken mac and cheese which was AMAZINGLYDELICIOUS. I am very happy they have ½ servings– not so bad for the price. The serving looks small, but the dish is pretty deep. My husband got a mushroom/bacon/swiss burger and enjoyed it. Our waitress(Gwenn?) as very friendly and very attentive. It’s typical bar food people, not some upscale trendy bar. It’s also practically in the middle of nowhere… I guess if you want more of a selection, go to Ruby Tuesday… or be fake southern and get you some chicken fried chicken at Cracker Barrel. I for one think this place is worth venturing into. And we will return! It’s only about 4 miles away from the outlets. Eat locally! Go to The Tavern at Wrentham. :)

A hole in the wall with awesome ny Italian style pizza. I get mine with extra sauce well done. Great place to hit after the outlets or for a super casual night. Nothing fancy but satisfies a pizza craving. Service has always been fine as well. It’s in my regular pizza rotation!

Came here with a regular who really recommended the place. It’s not a gourmet establishment but it’s not the dump that some people seem to be describing it as. It’s a family run, townie, hole in the wall, kind of place. Friendly and comfortable, with tasty but not super impressive food. I had the fish and chips, fish was delicious but the sweet potato fries(my choice) were soggy. Service was ok, the waitress seemed very confused at some basic requests and forgot the ketchup. I would come back if I were in the area and looking for a quick bite.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. First off, it’s a pit. The tables and chairs look like they came straight out of a strip club circa 1970. The waitstaff is completely incompetent and the manager Diane, a complete idiot. Our waitress was nice enough, but charged us for another table’s items which took almost a week to clear up with the bank. It took 3 telephone calls to get a return call from the owner Doug, another moron, who you would think would start off by apologizing-but no. Loser. Dougy needs a serious lesson on customer service, absolutely useless. Most importantly, the food was just as horrible and trashy as the clientele. I got the fish and chips and the batter was so thick it was like eating a pancake wrapped piece of haddock. Disgusting. My girlfriend got the french dip which was over cooked and tasted like homely brand lunch meat. The only positive i have is that the beers were good and cold. Was this place on that Kitchen Nightmares/Restaurant Impossible? If not, it should be… c’mon Gordon and Robert, show Doug a little love he sure does need it. Bottom line: Doug is jerk that doesn’t deserve your money in his pocket. Spread the word.

I can’t believe we wasted our time and money at this place. We walked up this place and there was a section that had a hole in the building. It looked like a barn attached to the restaurant. Trashy! Our waitress was decent, but there was this old rude hag who had a problem with everything. I have no idea what he problem since she wasn’t our waitress. We ordered the large family order of chicken tenders, which really had like 20 chicken tenders. They were pretty good. We got one sauce, we asked out waitress for another sauce, this old bitch says«Absolutely not, if they want more sauce you have to pay for it,» It’s not like we got a bowl of sauce, it was just a typical cup. The food was o.k. Nothing to write home about. The people are rude. The food is boring and bland. It’s in the middle of nowhere. This place is old and tired, along with its people. Don’t waste your time and money.

In theory, this is the kind of restaurant we really wanted to like. It’s locally owned, not a chain, in a pretty area. However, the atmosphere is like that of a converted basement in the 1970s: dark, dank, shabby. There is a spacious bar and TVs scattered throughout, but there is nothing there for a non-sports lover to look at. My husband and I both got the night’s special, the chicken terriyaki. It arrived in a very large bowl, with about 2 lbs of spaghetti sitting in brown water. On top were a few shards of dry chicken and a handful of small, limp broccoli florets. My friend had a steak with mushrooms and said the sauce was unpalatable. Another friend ordered the steamed haddock and said it was dry and tasteless. Even the 5-yr-old said her chicken was burned. The service is friendly and prompt. The waitress was sympathetic to our complaints but apparently was unable to do anything, since we received a full bill and no apology from anyone in the kitchen. It would be a very good idea to bring in a new chef. This is a definate Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmare!

Huge menu with lots of «New England» style food. Chowder, lobster, etc. I had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp and Steak Tips. The shrimp’s stuffing was flavorful and had celery in it for a little crunch. Only thing they could have done different is serve a russet potato instead of a new potato(I’m a potato snob), The service was great. Our server was Ann and she was polite and made recommendations when we asked.

Been here several times when it was Tom’s. Roadhouse type of restaurant, the new Tavern has been remodeled and is nice. The reason to come here now for me is the Pizza, tastes like old school Italian neighborhood pizza. Think the original Regina’s of the North-end, not the local mall variety. Great combination of cheeses and sauce where it all blends together when served piping hot, the crust is really good, and it has that charred brick oven taste. Easily the best local Italian style pizza in the local area. Apparently the owner has a Pizza place in Walpole as well.

The Tavern is a great place to enjoy a draft beer and watch the game. Even if there is no game to watch, the atmosphere is always enjoyable and food always delicious. Recently remodeled and under new ownership, the Tavern has reinvented itself and has added a friendly, knowledgeable staff. The food is delicious. The burgers are thick and juicy– the Tavern Burger is great with added toppings too. Fish and Chips were great. The Pizza is really good too. My favorite app are the Stuffies! A heaping clam shell filled with stuffing, seafood and sausage. A must try! The Pulled Pork is moist and tasty too. I haven’t had a bad experience at the Tavern and will return as soon as I’m back in the area. The Tavern is also really close to Gillette Stadium and they have a great deal for eating and getting to the stadium and back.
