They have excellent cuts of meat — but it is generally pricey. I get about a pound of the New York strip to BBQ and it never disappoints; but it is also about 17 dollars for the steak(so keep that in mind).

A casual chat with a friend resulted in my first visit to Delski’s Meats. She was raving about the pre-packaged lasagna, saying it was the best she had ever had. She was right! Delski’s has an ‘old world’ vibe to it in a very good sort of way. Located in a strip mall in the Château center, the space is compact and could easily be overlooked were it not for that huge barrel smoker which blankets the surrounding area with the incredible aroma of smoked meats like their brisket. Inside, there is a long deli counter with a variety of fresh meats and a wide assortment of jerky. Many of the products sold are custom creations and you can order any cut of meat and have it spiced. In addition, a chalkboard lists a number of items that are available but not on the case. In my opinion, this place sells some of the best perrogies in the area. The selection is varied and changes from day to day. The prices are reasonable and the service is stellar.

This is a great place to grab fresh meat, all kinds of smoked and cured sausages and meat sticks. They have ‘box bacon’ which is amazing and the price per lb. is similar to pre-packaged at grocery store, everyone loved it. They make an awesome pre-made lasagna, it looks small but is extremely filling, perfect dinner for two or three people. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Great local butcher shop. If you have any questions about meat or need a custom cut steak talk to Dave or Tom. Jerky made in house fresh daily. Not vacuum packed who knows when. All kinds of fresh brats and kielbasa. When you go get a Richie Red or two and warm it in the micro when you get home(delicious). Later in the afternoon on Fri and pretty much all Sat they do ribs, baked beans and brisket off the smoker out front. The smell of swizzling pork goodness and apple wood smoke sets the weekend off nicely. The store is always clean and the help informative. A must for any foodie.

Just moved to the area and am eager to find new places to fulfill my needs. I tried Delski’s because Van Ball’s is only ever opened till 5(and I work till 5) so it’s going to take me a while to be able to get try that place. Anyways, I thought the steak(which turned out to be choice grade and not prime) was better than what you get a local chain grocery stores for about the same price. Pros: Good steak(I’m reserving best steak at this point until I have time to try other places) at a reasonable price. I want to say it was about $ 10.30 for a ¾ pound t-bone. Cons: They say all that they serve is prime beef, but it appears that is not always the case. However from what I understand it is still a local grass fed product. It looks like the do smoke house type BBQ as well as there was mention of a brisket which had been on for almost 16 hours. It smelled good, but I did not try it. It is a very small store, which to me means that it is a clean store(having worked behind a meat counter before). The work area is highly visible, and the meat counter is fairly small, which means the product is rotated and cut frequently from what I could tell. I believe I also noticed veal, and possibly pork/chicken. Will I go here again? Yes. It is fairly close to where I live and work, and they are open until 6 which gives me enough time to shop there. Was it worth the extra 2 or 3 dollars for the steak? Definitely.
