I’ve been going to Phở 99 for years, and I have fallen in love with the Phở Ga as well as the fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls. The Phở there is delicious, and I drive 45 minutes to go there any day. For a feel– good food that truly nourishes the soul, visit Phở 99!

The phở here is good. I like the broth. However, they only had sriracha, instead of the homemade chili oil, so that was a little disappointing. The restaurant is a bit run down, which is ok, but it looks a bit dirty. Food was good at least so that’s what’s important.

This phở restaurant smells inside, they don’t turn on the heat so it feels like you’re dining outside with the 30 degree weather in the winter. This is a small restaurant and it took TOOLONG for our food to be brought out. Phở was okay, I’ve had better. Menu selection is small for Vietnamese. For once I’m actually going to say I would refer anyone to Phở Soc Trang than this restaurant. Unbelievably slow service for a small restaurant. Shame.

I was told about this place by a friend. It took six times before I finally got in to eat They are closed Monday then they were gone for vaca then the air was out and so on. This I was told is the place for Phở in Gr. Granted I am no expert but after having it at China Palace I think I have a feel for the good stuff. I think the air was still out when I was there it was about 85 in the dining room. We found our own seat and were greeted by a man who was literally jogging around delivering food and cleaning tables. Got our menus then sat for five or ten min. No ice water or beverage until the appetizers. Then it was a can of warm pop and a glass with ice that came from a carry along cooler by the cash register? Crab Rangoons were good and so were the egg rolls. the Phở was ok a little heavy on the clove for me and it was served with parsley stems floating like green onion. The price was ok but the lunch took an hour and twenty min so if you have to shoot back to the office look elsewhere.

For all you GR nutballs who, like me, complain of lack of diversity, I challenge you to get out there — it exists! This phở place is solid; it’s a 15 minute drive south off the 131. It’s not going to win any décor awards, but even as a hole in the wall, the food is delicious and fresh. You rarely hear English spoken here, unless it’s from the owner/server’s daughter who manages this place — usually all alone — with ease and efficiency. Don’t bother ordering anything but the #2 — trust me on this. Just get it and don’t ask what’s in it — just eat! Add some chili sauce if you are brave(or have a cold), and enjoy. You can do take out if you prefer, but I rather like the slightly worn and dumpy atmosphere of plastic table clothes, families of international diners, scuffed linoleum floors and TV playing in the corner. Bonus: it’s open on Sundays.
