Williams Eatery

My wife and I went there for breakfast. 45 minutes after we’d been seated, we still had not received our food. Nobody even addressed the issue until I finally asked them to check on our order. A manager came by and said our order was the next to be sent out. We waited a few more minutes, and finally left without ever eating. Horrible experience overall.

I ate here with my mother, decent little dinner, the back porch is super cool for an outside feel with glass windows to protect customer from the outside elements. The dinner could use a little cosmetic updating the booths has big rips in the seat. Being raw vegan I only ordered a fruit bowl it was alright: melon & strawberries, about the normal fruit cup at a dinner, my mother order a burger and fries which she said was good

Don’t even know where to start. The place was filthy, the service was non-​existent, the food… I’ve have better food at a school cafeteria. And the prices were outrageous. Lousy breakfast for two, $ 40.
There were only 3 other tables which already had their food and it took over half an hour to get the food.

This is a restaurant in the middle of what is basically a tourist town and the food reflects that.
There is nothing *wrong* with this place. The waitress was super friendly and he sunroom is nice.
However, the food is nothing special. When we walked in one of the staff walked out of the kitchen carrying a plastic GFS bag.
My friend and I ordered their chorizo dip and spicy empanadas. The empanadas tasted ok but they weren’t spicy and I would be really surprised if they weren’t heated from frozen. The chorizo dip was the better of the two appetizers. It came with chips and warm pita bread. The pita bread was definitely the better option.
Like I said, it wasn’t a bad restaurant, I’ve just had better.

Had the BBQ pork sandwich last night and my wife had the Salmon. Did take out and the food was great!

We sat for 20 minutes and no server ever approached. Thank God Ha Ha Pizza is next door. We’re out of here.

Unique place with good food! Lots of fresh options! We sat on the greenhouse-​like patio it was beautiful weather for it.

Very cute atmosphere and fun combinations of foods to try! You can buy local art that is hanging right on the walls! As a meal, I recommend the California Chicken sandwich with cilantro lime salsa on the side! Sandwiches come with fries and a pickle! This was enough food for a friend and I to share!

First of all I made a Unilocal account for this review. And I’ve been using Unilocal for years to find good food with no issue, until now. My girlfriend and, both former servers, went to eat here for dinner after a hike. Not knowing anything about this place we really didn’t have any expectations of grandeur. Our first interaction with our server was about 10 – 15 after we were sat. So needless to say we were definitely ready to order. I got a portobello sandwich, not bad; not great. My girlfriend ordered the fish taco and, oh lord it was AWFUL! I tasted the fish itself and it was the most terribly prepared fish I have ever had. So we waited for our server to come back to address this situation… And we waited… And waited… About another 10 minutes until my girlfriend decided she would rather choke down one of these taco and get out of the painfully awkward atmosphere of this restaurant than wait any longer. The next time we see our server she has the check, though neither of us asked for it, kind of happy she had it. Awkward atmosphere, horrible food, and really bad service. Definitely not ever returning sorry.

I love the papas rellanos (spelling?). They have a unique menu and lots of interesting choices. I’ve never picked something I didn’t like. You can bring your own beer or wine to enjoy.

Several vegetarian options, they are willing to make changes to make vegan. They used to have a nice grilled vegetable plate but removed it. Service is always timely, food is consistent. The southwest hash with black-​eyed peas is a favorite but feel it is bit over priced. I believe the black bean burger has egg in it so not suitable for vegans.
I think Williams gets overlooked since it is not on the main drag which is a shame, good food, good people — and they are open for breakfast!

This place is kind of terrible.
No issue with the service although our server did seem inexperienced. No issue with the wait time or the amount of time it took to receive our food.
The food here is just not good. We ordered the chorizo cheese dip for an appetizer. It tasted okay, but the portion was ridiculously small for a $ 10 appetizer. I ordered the California Chicken Sandwich with the garlic dill potatoes for a side. My sandwich wasn’t great. The chicken had no seasoning and the guacamole was bland. The garlic dill potatoes were definitely not being held at an appropriate temperature in the kitchen. Some of the potatoes were room temperature, some were cold, some were warm. It was very strange. My sister and I both ordered the potatoes and didn’t finish them. She didn’t finish her burger either. Both of our stomachs were upset for the remainder of the day.
My dad lives close to YS and enjoys this restaurant so I might find my way back here eventually with him. I will not be returning on my own.

Someone told me to try this place out and here are my thoughts:
GREAT waitress/​servers
FOOD– Dumping a can of mandarin oranges into lemonade DOES make it «Mandarin Lemonade» but it also made it impossible to drink since the mandarins kept clogging up the straw. A suggestion would be to maybe blend the mandarins or cut smaller please.
Presentation needs help… bacon was ill placed making my burger look like some type of spider, the joke of the guacamole was about a tablespoon and this was the «Guacamole Burger» i ordered and its a shame because the little I tasted was VERY good. It looked like I had only gotten half of my fries and the tomatoes and onion looked like they came from miniature gardens… you need your garnishes to match your product or they look ill placed.
Didn’t see any desserts and was surprised to see this meal almost cost me $ 20.00 for a hamburger, fries and lemonade.
Not sure if this is a new place/​new cook but I feel with better presentation and lower prices they would have no issue filling the place.

I had their fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised. It came with three nice filets, fries and a big scoop of slaw. Service was friendly and prompt. Price was good too at $ 10.99. A few odd menu items like banana pepper rellenos, but overall decent selection.

Service was okay, average for yellow springs. No one is really in a hurry.
Ordered the cheese chorizo dip and it was good.
My boyfriend and I both ordered burgers which they mixed up in the kitchen. The burger left a lot to be desired. Not much flavor to the patty and it had a lot of gristle in it. The bottom bun was soggy and gross, I ended up not eating the bottom bun.
All and all I probably won’t be back here except maybe to try their breakfast. Otherwise I will stick with peaches or golden jersey inn
Update: I docked it to one star because I’m 90% sure I got food poisoning from the food here.

Hubby and I went to Williams for the first time this evening.
When we got there for an early dinner (about 5:30) on a Monday evening, there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant and we chose to sit in the empty atrium. The environment in the atrium was amazing — silent, artsy, divey, and almost like an indoor picnic with art!
After having a nice conversation with our waiter, Zach, about my dietary problems, I knew I’d be able to find something awesome. After Zach spoke to the chef for me, I ended up ordering the lobster tacos!!! (Yes, lobster without butter for me!!) Hubby ordered the East Coast crab Cake Sandwich (add bacon). And I chose to drink a papaya and pineapple juice. We could not be more happy with both the service, and the food. We will try this place again!
Update 6÷10÷16 — If any Williams employees or managers are listening… I have since been to Williams several times and have managed to order EVERY time with complete ability for dairy free dining. Since you are SO allergy friendly, play it up! Create a nice gluten free, dairy free, vegan menu. Consider putting some symbols directly on your menu indicating what can be made dairy free, gluten free, or vegan. Advertise your ability to be gluten free, vegan, and dairy free. The business will come, especially in Yellow Springs!

I only had a few breakfasts here so that is all I can comment on. They were delicious, cheap, and interesting. They had good cheap simple options and good cheap interesting options (everything from regular egg plates to mango pancakes with piña colada syrup) so the best of both worlds. Service was great and the prices are crazy low.

The menu is extensive and interesting. So many different delicious things from which to choose! We went here with 10 people for lunch after hiking nearby. Worked up quite the appetite and we weren’t disappointed by the amazing choices. Some of the food was cold, however. Fish tacos are really only good when warm. Salads weren’t very fresh either. Cool atmosphere though!

Food was good, but the service was a little disappointing. We had to wait over ten minutes after being seated just to order drinks and I had to go get a waitress!
Fiesta chicken sandwich was tasty with good flavor, although the chicken was a little dry. The house salad was perfectly simple. Garlic dill potatoes were hands down the best thing we had at the table!

I cannot get enough of the mussels here. I can’t personally speak for any of the other food… but my friend sure loves the burgers here!
I’ve been here a handful of times, and each time, the service was very friendly.
