Me and my boyfriend have been going here a lot. The food had always been great and the staff is wonderful always nice. Only downfall is that it’s always cold in there so bring a sweater.

Best chicken fried steak breakfast anywhere around. It seriously didn’t taste like a frozen product. The biscuit was perfect… Not dry at all. The freezer jam they serve is divine as well. Definitely our new favorite breakfast joint. We’ve eaten lunch and dinner here as well and have never been disappointed.

We ate here last about a year ago, thought we were safe with breakfast but it was very slow and the sausage links were totally burnt and shriveled up, looked like they were cooked 2 hours ago and left in a warmer. They brought out replacement ones that didnt look much better. We tried it again today and like last time it was nothing special. Prices seem high, they were out of several sides, waitress forgot some of the requests, english muffin was black and burnt, the large pieces of fried chicken was not thoroughly cooked and had some red inside, the smaller pieces were overcooked. After we got our food we never saw the waitress again, I was going to ask for a new english muffin. We were seated quickly but I saw others come in after us and wait for a long time before anyone seated them and the restraint was not even very busy.

Good food and great customer service! The sweet potato fries are the best and I think they make wonderful sandwiches.

This is a wonderful restaurant. We stopped there for breakfast, on the way to the Yelm bicycle trail. The waitress was incredibly skilled and got me the special lemon pancakes even though they were no longer s featured special. Yum.

Stopped by here on our way out of town and the food was fantastic! My husband’s meat omelette was chocked full of meat and I had the lemon pancake special which was to die for!

Ate a pile of food here today. The chocolate cream pie was especially good. I’m only taking one star off for the prices. The pie was huge, but honestly more than I needed and at $ 4 for a slice, it is unfortunately enough for me to tack that off. The pie was absolutely amazing. Just, if you cut it in half and charged me $ 1.99 for it, it’d still be a huge slice and I’d feel better about paying $ 2 for dessert than $ 4. You know? And it would still be the same price. The eggs are real eggs though, which is nice. The waffle was fabulous. I’d say order your hashbrowns crispy if you’re the type that likes them really soft(I’m not, they were perfect for me. My husband would’ve hated them though). The fruit bowl was worth every penny I spent on it though, and that takes a lot for me to say that. Good food, nice folks, I’ll definitely be back around. I’ll just have to allot some serious calories for that pie. Pretty sure it’s a graham cracker crust too, which I almost never see on a chocolate cream. Made me super into it.

Had the Strawberry Belgian waffle here, it was huge and if you like sweets for breakfast you can’t go wrong with this!

If there was any other place in town for a sit down breakfast they’d have my business. I ordered a cheese omelette thinking there’s no way that they could screw that up. They did. Huge glob of cheese. No seasoning on hash browns and a burnt pancake. Blech

We visited Mr. Doug’s in June when we were house hunting. I remember being please with the food and service and so we went again this am before church. We waited over 5 minutes to be seated, and even then we were just told which table to sit and to go ahead while the waitress attended to a customer wanting to pay their bill AFTER we had been standing for 5 minutes already. Then we sat, waited another 15 – 20 minutes for someone to take our drink or food orders. No one even spoke to us or told us they would be right with us. Finally, as we were walking out a young kid said he’d be right over to take our order. I said no thanks, we’d already waited long enough. We went to the Roadrunner down the street and were much happier with the service(and food).

Visited around 10am on a Sunday morning — not too busy, empty tables abound. Seated quickly, served drinks quickly, order taken quickly… And then waited 30+ minutes for the food to arrive, which was simply an order of eggs, bacon & toast, and an omelet. The Western omelet was more of an omelet burrito/wrap — the ham, peppers and cheese laying inside a folded in half plain omelet«shell» instead of mixed in with the omelet when cooked — first time I’ve ever had a omelet prepared like that, and annoying to try and eat that way. The eggs were undercooked and runny… and that was the last time we had any interaction with our server until we were finished with our meal; no «how is everything?» or check on our drinks, or anything. When she finally returned 20 minutes later, she asked if there was a problem with the eggs(which had been sitting out on the edge of the table on a plate by themselves, that’s a clue…) and we told her the issue. She apologized and asked if we would like them redone, but we declined because we didn’t have the time to wait. So she instead brought us the full bill — no credit for the uneaten eggs! So we paid the bill, went on our merry way, and told ourselves we will never return.

Sorry Mr. Dougs– I wasn’t impressed… My wife and I ordered the same exact meal– this being a first visit to the restaurant. The waiter was extremely nice at first but was so busy talking to his friends that showed up right behind us. Sadly we had to flag him down twice for items such as our place settings and he seemed bothered when we asked for additional napkins(he brought us just one more) now for the food… breakfast 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. same order… Wife’s plate shows up, it has sausage. Husbands plate shows up, it has bacon. He looks at us and says umm something isn’t right… We tell him no problem we will let it slide. we shouldn’t have… the eggs on my plate were runny. wife’s plate burnt. hasbrowns were dark to almost black on mine, golden crisp on hers. the bacon was so over cooked it was curled crisp and dark on 3 of 4 pieces, the sausage was cold in the middle. Either the cook has a split personality or the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Either this was just a bad day or this is the inconsistent norm of the restaurant.

Consistently slow and consistently mediocre. In hopes of improvement, I’ve ordered the same breakfast six times in a row: French toast, sausage, and eggs over medium. Note to breakfast cooks everywhere: all egg whites should be cooked thoroughly. The«easy, medium, hard» part refers to the YOLK. My eggs have always been semi raw in the whites, and runny in the yolks. Every. Single. Time. Please tell me how you manage to produce practically raw eggs in twenty minutes. Yuck. Lunch is just as bad: club sandwiches come with nasty American cheese. Seriously, Doug? Have some pride in your slow, overpriced product.

My favorite breakfast place EVER. I live in Kent now and make the hour + drive at least once a month and it’s so worth it. I am so weird about eggs and this is the only place that cooks eggs correctly and they taste delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Breakfast is the best meal lunch and dinner here are okay but breakfast is the star. The customer service is exceptional and the atmosphere is cozy, country and super homey. It’s worth the trip for sure.

Really hard to mess up breakfast but it happened. Soggy, greasy toast. Gray brown & serve sausage links. Cold hash browns. And how in the world do you burn bacon and make it limp? So sad since they used to be good.

Worked here for 5 years, and chose to eat there about 2x a week… If you can STAND to be at work for FUN when you’re not on the clock, and if you still want to eat the food you’ve served about a billion times, that means its good food, a clean place, with a good staff! if you’re in the area visiting mr. dougs is a must!
