I have read all the reviews about this place and decided that I would find out for myself on if the local hype was serious or if it was just hype. I will say that it was not the end all be all, but it was still some pretty good food at a decent price. I walked into the place and it is a small quaint little restaurant, and it was certainly quiet as there were only 3 tables. The service was fast and friendly and we did not have to wait long to get our appetizers which where the Nachos Gaby. They were pretty good nachos, the chips were still crunchy and there was plenty of toppings and ground beef and their was excellent value here as the portion size was gracious. The Tacos that my girlfriend got were the smaller tacos that came with rice and beans, and although I did not try them she thought they were good. I will say they are a decent value because while the tacos are not large they have a fair amount of meat are are tasty and the plate itself is not bad for $ 10. It appeared as though the ingredients were fresh and that it was cooked well and it was flavorful. The Super Burrito was just that, Super. It was HUGE! There was no sauce just a 2 to 3 pound burrito sitting on your plate. I got the shredded beef and it was of good quality, it was just not large chunks of fat from the end of the cut, but rather generous portions of meat that was seasoned well, although not hot, and it was cooked well. There was rice, guacamole, and looked like pico de gallo on the inside all seemed fresh for a restaurant and tasted good. The portions size is enormous and it certainly presents a lot of value. The service was good as my drink never hit empty, and it was done in a non invasive way which I appreciate so I do not have to talk with my mouth full. They are willing to get you side trays of sour cream and so on at no additional charge, The chips and beans that they serve at the beginning are good and they also replace them promptly. The one thing I will say that not necessarily surprised me but, I appreciated, was the bathrooms are large and they are clean(at least the men’s, for anatomical reasons I cant tell you about the ladies). The place is kept clean. I will say that the food was not necessarily authentic in the sense that they are rolling their own tortillas like the are in Tijuana, but it is good food at a great price. The food is good but did not have that WOW factor. I think the spices could be a bit better or applied more liberally, although I am sure some would disagree. I have teetered on a 3 or 4 rating, but I will let the service and bathrooms take it to a 4. Again the food is consistently good, just not great. I would definitely eat there again, and if you are looking for a nice quiet spot with large portions for relatively cheap, this is the place.

Based on the reviews we weren’t really sure what to expect but we loved this place! The service was excellent from the moment we entered and the food was delicious. My husband’s burrito weighed 5 pounds I think and it was only $ 12. We will definitely be back!

The burrito’s are HUGE!!! Good food! Good portion size! Will be back to try some different stuff. The spice level was a little bit high for my taste but the hubby really liked it. Reason for not giving a higher star rating is they seamed to be short staffed and we had to wait not only for seating, order taking, box for leftovers and for the bill.(this was a weekday and the place only had a few customers)

Went here for dinner because we had a coupon and our neighbor recommended them. Chips were burned to start out. We ordered one kids meal and they brought two plates with what we assumed was the kids meal already split but it wasn’t. We were charged for two whole kids meals even though we only ordered one. Both of our main entrees were not good to say the least. My quesadilla was made with what I assume was chicken but did not resemble chicken in appearance or taste. My wife’s fajitas were not very good, they were extremely bland. The server was beyond terrible. We sat at the table with food for near ten minutes without any silverware. He never brought my drink and was never around to check on us. Then to top it all off we used a coupon that read 50% off with purchase of two entrees and two drinks. And they told us that there was a mix up with the company who printed them and it was only 50% off the lesser priced entrée, which turned out to be $ 5 off instead of $ 20. Needless to say we WILLNOT be back. Puerto Vallarta is a thousand times better than this place.

Service is fair, prices are real good, food is awesome, place is fairly clean. I’d come back. The beans and salsa with the chips is a plus.

By far our favorite Mexican place to eat at in town. Their Torta is huge and so delicious, just like ones you’d get in Cali! The staff is always attentive and friendly. Carnitas are also very good, the portions are great, even the kids eat up all their food and are full.

This place was solid. Staff didn’t act all chatty, they continually brought you hot chips, beans, salsa, and cold beer. The chocolate mint at the end was a nice touch. I had carne asada tacos. They were hot and tasted pretty good. Buddy had the tilapia tacos… shredded tilapia, looked like shit imo, but he seemed to enjoy them.

I must start off this review by saying, they served the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had in my life. My carnitas were so-so. Not as crisp and seasoned as I like. My daughter’s mole was excellent and everyone else at the table really enjoyed their food. My sister’s chimichanga was HUGE. Attentive servers. I recommend Tacos Gaby.

When I started eating here probably 8ish months ago I was in love. Everything was sooo good. I loved their chicken tortilla soup. Suddenly it went downhill. There was probably a half an inch of fat/grease on top of my soup one day. I couldn’t even eat it. I figured maybe it was a fluke and tried again. It’s been the same way since. The soup is just so greasy, and I’m not super picky, so you know it’s bad. The tacos got extremely greasy as well. Not the good greasy. The slimy, wet soggy greasy. I’m not sure what happened. I’ve given it multiple chances. It’s not getting better. :-/

Not living up to the reviews. Sat down. It took quite a while for them to take our order… guacamole was bland… and 35 minutes later the out of breath server came to tell us that they’d lost our check and that she needed to take our order again. Not sure what happened. There were only four other parties in the restaurant.

The Carnitas are good but don’t get chicken chimichanga!!! The meat was dark meat chicken and was probably the worst I’ve had. We had a good server but overall it was the typical overpriced and not very good food I’ve come to expect from some of the small restaurants in the North West. We do not plan on going back.

Service seemed super slow tonight. Took ten minutes to get two glasses of water. 40+ minutes to get food and the place was relatively empty. I had a vegetarian Chavendeca. It was very tasty and zingy. The tortillas were a little thick for me but overall I would order it again. My wife had chicken fajita salad. It was loaded with onions and bell pepper which she liked. She didn’t like the dark meat though. Most places don’t put dark chicken meat in salad.

I really wanted to like this place because from the rest of the reviews it seemed like it was going to be a delicious dining experience. We entered the restaurant and waited about 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. The first person who greeted us was busy delivering food to tables. The next person who greeted us ended up being our server and she was carrying a lot of glasses which she proceeded to stack and then eventually seated us. She started clearing a table that was a really tiny booth with one chair by the door and kind of chilly. We asked for a booth on the inside and she sighed and said that it would be a while. We finally got seated and she came to take our order. She did not check on us after she brought our drinks and slammed down the menus. They do have tv screens here, and I think that is probably the big draw. They were playing ESPN and I believe a Broncos game was on. She asked if we wanted more chips which she brought but did not bring us any more salsa even though we were clearly out of salsa. I did like that they offered a slightly spicy bean dip plus salsa and chips to start with, as food took over 40 minutes to come. We did have it better than the table next to us, as we overheard the waitress saying she lost their ticket and what food did they order. She didn’t apologize, she just stated it matter of factly. We asked for drink refills, which never came until we were ready to leave. The food itself was pretty salty although I did like the crispiness of the chimichanga. There are a few spots in the back for parking. Overall I would not return. There are several other places to eat nearby with better service.
