Standard fair for a Denny’s. If you want a big breakfast, this place works just fine.

Poor Denny’s you guys no longer have any standards in service, food or cleanness. Place was dirty, menus where had food stuck to them, turkey platter beef gravy. Waitress served it and did not notice. Cook was hoping we did not noticed. Meal served. We noticed and then we were informed they had no turkey gravy. Another bad meal paid for. Why Denny’s? Your employees look like dirty, grungy unkept bunch of? Close down. Some one call the health department.

Customers from Best Western Point South Beware! We were staying at the Best Western Point South next door. There is an arrangement between the hotel and Denny’s to provide a «free» breakfast for customers staying at the Best Western. Hotel staff and a Denny’s employee all indicated that we could do carry out for the items specified on the breakfast voucher on the coupon provided by hotel staff. When we called in the morning to order, Sam, the GM, answered the phone and advised we could only use the voucher for dine in only although the previous evening we spoke with someone else at Denny’s who indicated we could do carry out for the following morning. I do not fault the Best Western on this at all. This is solely due to Denny’s and someone who claimed he was the GM who apparently chose not to serve us which was inconsistent with their procedures done in the past for hotel customers with the voucher. Shame you n you Denny’s and Sam!

Im the type of person that never complains but the food here was horrible. overcooked, under cooked, no flavor. Felt like i was eating something made by a 6 year old. And service wasnt that great either. I Was waiting for 40 minutes, for a sandwish that should have been free. Never coming here again.

Go somewhere else if you can. We have been seating at our table for 1hr now and the food hasn’t come out yet. Its ridiculous! The hostess said it will be a long wait and when i showed her all the avail booths she said that the kitchen was backed up. Terrible service, slow. Food horrible. I asked for a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and vegetables w/dip. I saw two small pieces of avocado, chicken was cold and celery was brown on the tip. I returned my sandwich and left. Terribly dissapointted

Waffle House was full, so we went to the half-empty Denny’s across the street. The whole restaurant, from the entrance to our booth in the back, smelled vaguely of urine and pesticide. Willing to give it the benefit of the doubt(a holiday gingerbread recipe gone awry, perhaps?), we waited to be seated. «CANSOMEBODYCOMESEATTHESEPEOPLEPLEASE?!» the woman standing at the cash register literally screamed backwards into the kitchen when I approached her with a quickly disappearing smile. It took half an hour to get our food(and just as long to get the check), and we had been famished upon entry. Our waitress was in a state of suspended animation — spectrally drifting between her three tables and speaking at half speed. An hour of breathing urine and pesticide and listening to the waitresses fight with each other and the kitchen staff, only to be rewarded with a sandwich disappointing enough to eat half of even though we’d been so hungry when we got there(the smell didn’t help). The best part about this location was the free parking for the photogenic urban decay next door and the gas station where you can buy yourself a Cliff bar to get through the next eight hours of driving, since your«real» meal won’t quite cut it. Do yourself a favor and just wait in the Waffle House line, because it’s there for a reason.

I normally love denny’s but this is the worst experience I’ve ever had! I got a burger because it was around dinner time we went in. Half my topping were not on there and my burger was burnt… Our waitress also was no where to be seen for most of the dinner. Also my burger was supposed to be $ 6 and it was uncharged to $ 9, last time we eat at this location.

This is a typical Denny’s. Not great and not bad. The store is clean and the service was good. Wife had a Grand Slam and I had the Lumberjack Slam. Pancakes were good, over easy eggs were good, link sausage was good, ham was ok, hash browns were ok, and the bacon was typical Denny’s limply thin bacon. What more can I say. We eat at Denny’s about once or twice a year.

The food was great. I loved the selection. The pancakes are big, the hash browns were done just right and I really enjoyed the Grand Slamwich. Just what I expected from a Denny’s.

5 stars for the wonderful manager Jermey. 1 star for the food which was mediocre at most. We stopped because we were starving and on a road trip and it took forever for our drinks to be taken and then our food to come which was left sitting for a good 10 mins with only two other couples in the diner at the time it being 11 pm. So props to the manager not to give food or waitress which were both subpar

Service was tolerable. Of the four of us dining; awful(buffalo chicken wrap & kids spagetti), so-so(bbq chicken wrap)& good(tilapia ranchero). The tap water is bad tasting. Don’t intend on returning next time through.

Service very poor, took 20 minutes to be seated in a dining room half empty at 930 on a weekday. Food was fine. Danny’s needs to evaluate this site.

The positive: the manager seemed nice. There was one waitress, Priscilla(bless her heart), who checked and helped me several times when it wasn’t her job to do so. She needs a promotion. Everything else: Wow, 40 minutes for a TO-GO order. I was being helped by someone, lets call him K, who was determined to do as little as possible. I overheard a waitress complaining about him not doing anything because he said he was sick. K seemed determined to show everyone how bad he was by not being able to ring up my order, check on its status, talk to me to verify my order, or finally check me out. He could however use his bare hands to cut up the banana for my meal without washing, which if he was sick, is horrible(I tossed the bananas). Finally Priscilla took over so I could pay my bill, while K went back to playing with the monitor on the other register, after taking some time before that to sit at an empty table. I wish I could say the rest of the staff was better, but only Priscilla actively helped while everyone else treated it as ‘not my problem’. All of this happened during a manger shift change from what I can tell, so maybe that’s why everything dragged on. My food was good, but did it really matter at that point? Situations like this is why I remind myself every few years to not eat at Denny’s.

I have never had a good meal at Denny’s. We were only here because late last night we had to find somewhere to sleep and so we ended up at the Best Western which this Denny’s is attached to. Needing to get breakfast quickly and get back on the road, this seemed our easiest option. The good news: the waitress was as sweet as she could be and did a good job, in spite of the crowds that began pouring in from the hotel shortly after we got there. Most of the staff looked disgruntled. One waitress said she had been there since eight the night before, and it was now 8AM. Also, they now offer bold coffee instead of just the usual watery brew. They did not have it made when we arrived so we had to wait till they brewed the bold. Bad news: the food is still as terrible as I remember. Even the bacon tasted like it had been cooked and sat on the side of the grill for hours. They have a new menu for making your own Grand Slam by picking out 4 breakfast items. One of our picks was oatmeal. After 10 minutes, they came back to tell us they didn’t have any. The hash browns were still raw and flour tasting. It was a depressing way to start the day.

Looks can be deceiving. DONOT let the A rating sign on the door fool you. First off the so called water they serve is nasty, wouldn’t even be good enough for my toilet. I’ve been to several Denny’s and this by far is the worst. Although they had more«cons» than«pros» the only good thing, was the waitress came by to check on my family and I to make sure our service was good and if their was anything else we needed. Added insult was the waitress was actually yelling at the cook because our food was not done right. Visit at your own risk.

The food tasted fine, which is about the best thing I can say about the meal. The waitress brought two cups of coffee when only one was ordered, disappeared until it was time to bring the meal with the side wrong, and then never came back again. The drinks remained empty and we sat for at least ten minutes waiting for a check when less than half the tables were filled.

Hey, it’s a Denny’s. I gave this three stars primarily for the cheerful service. Our waitress seemed genuinely happy to serve us. As for the food. it’s Denny’s, like I said. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and garlic bread. It was filling and the portion was acceptable. My spouse had fish and chips. It consisted of one fairly large piece of fish, French fries, cole slaw and garlic bread. It was OK. I didn’t care for the garlic bread and we were almost done eating when it arrived. We also had two iced teas. We didn’t order dessert. With tip it was 32.00 which I find pricey for what we got. Like the other review, it was Sunday and that and Waffle House were the only places open.

While this review is contextually about Denny’s in Yemassee, SC, it could just as easily be for any Denny’s anywhere. On this latest road trip up North, we were forced to have dinner at Denny’s, as it was the only restaurant open in the area. Truly. Sadly. We tried to order intelligently and healthfully off of the vast menu, and ended up having what seemed to have been food suited for astronauts: dessicated, reconstituted, and tasteless. What was served to me as an entrée(supposedly grilled chicken breasts, green beans, and corn) tasted like an elementary school lunch. The only redeeming factor was that it didn’t come up on me later in the evening. Having to taste it again would have been torture. Tell me this, with so many restaurants struggling to stay in business(and one next door to this Denny’s having had to close because of lack of business), how does a place with anything less than edible food stay in business? Location? Price point? Stupidity of the eating public? Tell me! I’m at a loss. Whatever it is, next time we’ll plan ahead.
