I have passed this restaurant numerous times and never thought of trying the food or walking into the place as it never stood out to me. I then came across it on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I purchased a Groupon for 2 for my partner and I in which we joined along with 2 friends as they had previously purchased for 2 also. As we walked in we noticed the place was completely empty and asked if they could possibly accommodate us with a bigger table only because we saw it was not busy and we were the only ones there. We were then told that was not acceptable and we’ll have to be seated seperate, we were willing to purchase a Groupon for 4 at that moment but our waiter“Freddy” then said, «you do what you want, I can’t seat you all in 1 table». We were then moved to 2 separate tables and had to shout to one another from 1 table to another. Our food then arrived and as I looked around we were still the only ones there and had to shout at our waiter from across the room to kindly provide us with the check. I would NEVER go back to this place!

Dark room… inconsistent food… service is slow… the woman who is the owners wife is not friendly but seems to cater to specific diners… music was basically karaōke like with the singer singing to karaōke cds… freezer burned appetizers and the cake looked like it was put together from other people’s left overs… not a good experience and won’t be going back there… my husband’s dish also had too much garlic

This place has no atmosphere. The feel of the place is that of a cafeteria. The owner walks around without ever smiling. The food is just okay… nothing to write home about. They should be embarrassed to serve their deserts! This was our third time there and we do not recommend it. Valentino’s on Bronx River Road is SO much better!

I recently went with my husband, brother in law and father in law, to celebrate my father in laws birthday. This was the first time any of us ate there. Our waiter was very friendly and had a great attitude, we made seven o’clock reservations, when we arrived we were promptly greeted, and seated right away. The food was excellent, I would absolutely go back again. The portions sizes were pretty large, and the prices were fair.

First time coming to this restaurant. I made a reservation for a Saturday Night at 7pm. We showed up a little early but were seated right away since the place wasn’t full. Our table had a reservation tag which was nice to see. The place is small. They make it even smaller because on Saturday nights they bring in a small band to sing and play music. Honestly, music playing from a radio would be better and they would have more room for tables. I wouldn’t come back for the music. It was actually distracting trying to have a nice dinner. With the being said– the food was pretty decent. It is expensive for Italian food. Lucky for someone like myself, they do give you a decent portion. I ordered one of the specials(Which the waiter has to read to you instead of it just being inserted into the menu). My date ordered something off the menu. We also ordered the appetizer which was a special as well(Calamari and fried zucchini sticks). I’m a little confused on that one as Calamari is usually a staple at many italian restaurants I eat at, so I was a little upset it’s only a special. Again, the food tasted great, and I enjoyed the portions. Going back again, the negatives were the band and the price. If I’m paying $ 20-$ 25 per entrée, I don’t want to listen to a cheesy band playing– not my idea of a nice meal. I would try it again, but next time buy a groupon for it. I didn’t know they had one and if you buy a groupon it’s definitely worth it. Don’t pay full price like me!

I found Luciano’s on groupon. My boyfriend, who grew up in Yonkers, heard of them but hasn’t dined there before so we decided to go there for dinner on Sunday night. The restaurant’s ambiance was just okay. A bit dark, not very modern. Maybe they were going for the Old Italian look? There were only four other diners there(other groupon holders we were told). Our waiter was very friendly but didn’t seem too organized. Considering that the restaurant was empty, I found myself having to wait around for him to get to us. Now about the food: We started off with the baked clams. My first clam had too much breading and not enough clam. I tried again and came upon a clammy clam! Ben really enjoyed the clams and felt they weren’t too breaded at all. The sauce used was really good. I ordered the Golden Noble which was seafood over linguine.(I had the Fra Diavlo) For $ 26.95, my dish came with calamari, clams, mussels and a half of lobster. It was A LOT of food and quite yummy. Ben ordered their signature dish(which is what I was considering as well) Spinach Fettuccine alla Luciano which had Fresh Tomatoes, Shallots, Sausage Meat and Cremini Mushrooms. His dish was VERY good! For dessert, I had a HUGE portion of Tartufo and Ben had the cheesecake.

Luciano’s has a been an all time favorite for me and family for a long time. Ever since I was a kid I always used to ask my parents to go there and now I go myself and bring my girlfriend on occasion. We recently went for Mother’s Day and it was an excellent experience. I had the Veal Ossobuco with risotto and my mother had shrimp scampi, it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Ended the night with some nice dessert and a wonderful time. On Friday and Saturday they offer live entertainment and it’s worth it to come. What’s convenient about the place is they offer free valet parking and reservations for any special occasion, even a big party room. Patty and Luciano have always been very welcoming whenever my family and I come in and we will continue to come for years ahead.

I used to go to Luciano’s all the time with my family when I was a kid. We were from around the neighborhood. We moved to Florida 10 years ago. I came back with my wife and two kids to visit an uncle and decided to eat at my old favorite place. I had my spiedino alla romana for an appetizer. For the main course I had a steak with sautéed onions and mushrooms. My wife had the fettuccine Luciano. My uncle had the chicken scarpariello special over linguine and broccoli rabe. My kids had a spaghetti and meatballs and chicken fingers. Everybody was happy. The staff was young and polite. The owners remembered myself and my family and said they were happy to see me again. It brought back old memories. I wish I could come back and visit more often. I would also appreciate it if Unilocal wouldn’t put my reviews to the side. I write what I feel about all the places that I’ve been to. Please put this review back on the page.

We absolutely love Luciano’s. We try and go a few times a month. The food is delicious and the service is great. It’s a family oriented place and they have entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. The son of the owner makes a GREAT cosmopolitan. Try it out, and I guarantee you will love it. Diamond & Ingrid
