Went last night… Very crowded ! Sat down at 7 pm ordered appetizers & main courses(there were 9 of us) did not get served till 9:45 pm on appetizers, 10:30 on main. Some people on our table got served, three dishes did not come out until 30 minutes after which means those three had to stare at everyone else eating. Most dishes were not good. Management was not nice when I asked what happened to three dinners. Obviously, kitchen can’t handle such a crowd, I will admit… however…management did NOT handle situation well. One manager said to me sternly, WHATDOYOUWANTMETODO? I asked him how about espresso & cappuchinos and dessert on the house? He said yes shook his head & walked away. Waiter came back with decaf American coffee only. a few cheese cakes & we were told NO italian coffee. This and the lousy food left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and result being 9 customers will never go back. This restaurant has nothing to fear. they have been there 40 years doing whatever it is they do which fine Italian ding is not one of them. Observing waitresses with hanging hair(all of them, I believe there were four) and the clientele that haven’t a clue what Italian fare is, San Martino will go on. Fried zucchini beyond soggy & greasy, pasta bolognese that was nothing but gloppy Ragu from the jar with ground meat floating around, side of ziti inedible for overkill with salt, filet of sole franchaise soggy, heavy with greasy batter. Awful eggplant rollatini. Also main course dishes(all of them) were NEVER cleared when bitter decaf and cheesecake(soggy) arrived. Bill came, overpriced ! People BELEIVE this and other reviews !! This place is not worth going to FORFREE !!!

This is a family style, family run long standing Italian restaurant. You are not coming here for the updated atmosphere, you are coming here for a good, consistent Italian meal. If you do come for that, you will be happy. It is a standard Italian menu, but the food is good. The restaurant is not updated, but the prices reflect it and if it was so modern, trendy, you would be paying much more for the same food. We ordered catering one time and have to say, food was not as good and over salted. The dishes are hit or miss. Some are good, some are okay.

Went here for Father’s Day, admittedly because 2 other choices had an hour wait time. We were seated in a glassed in area that seemed very nice, then it started to rain and my daughter got leaked on. We were quickly moved with apologies, right next to a large table full of people so noisy I couldn’t hear myself think. I preferred to order from the regular menu rather than the Father’s Day«specials» but of course this Italian/seafood place had run out of scallops so instead I had a nearly tasteless penne broccoli and shrimp. When the check came I tried to use a coupon which was the reason for this place as a third choice, I was told they didn’t accept coupons on a holiday. I would not recommend this place for quality or service to anyone unless I really disliked them.

My 1st time at this place due to a Living Social deal scored! I am a stay at home Mommy to an 11 month old girl and I felt like this was the perfect place to take my significant other which he turned 27 yesterday! First off, I messaged the restaurant on Thursday regarding reservations. I was replied to very quickly hence making me super happy. It was initially going to be just the 3 of us, but a few of his family members were excited about sharing the day with him. Out of the 9 adults that were supposed to attend, there were only 4 in total. It happens I guess. The look of the place internally is very homey, small and yet spacious. One of my guests noticed how old the place must be due to an extremely obviously overused spoon. Free bread is always a plus except that it was not toasted well. Complimentary zucchini was yummy and I thought it was because of the surprise birthday but I saw in another review that they also had complimentary zucchini. Our entrées were small but I personally felt that it’s the perfect portion. The way humans eat nowadays, they were definitely small portion plates to satisfy. One of the meals ordered was fettucini alfredo with chicken. According to one of the guests, it was flavorless although it looked good and pretty. The, I believe, owner was super accommodating abd friendly but the«under 21» waiter that we had was clueless about my surprise for my significant other. He was super proper and that was cool. The sangria was good. 3 stars because the food was not great but it was edible and because the place was probably not the best choice for a family of 20 – 30 year olds. We felt awkward being the only ones that age. Thank you for the opportunity to try the place out. We will not be returning but we appreciate the birthday singing from 2 waiters and the fact that the other diners sang along and clapped too. So cute.

First of all, this place is not on a main road. You have to know it exists to find it. We got a buy 1 entrée get 1 free coupon so we learned about the place and decided to try it. We ordered the lasagna and the baked ziti and our server surprised us. She told us we came on the wrong day and should have come on Monday — Thursday because pasta entrees are buy 1 get 1 free on those days. That was a first. It is rare to see a server care and try to save people money because usually they want you to rack up the bill so if you double the tax they get a huge tip. Our food tasted nice but we went with the safe choices. My ziti was piping hot and I was starting to sweat from eating it. This is the way food should be served. We finished the bread and our server gave us more without asking us which was very nice. We got complimentary fried zucchini which tasted good but the marinara sauce was a little watery. The restaurant’s neighbors were interesting. It was an Asian massage parlor and if you read the news you know what usually goes on there. I saw 2 men go inside and 1 man come out. One man caught me staring at him while he went inside. I thought I was watching some really horny men not care who sees them but I looked online and found out they are legitimate. I did read many complaints from people who were hoping for illegal services. I wonder if any of the 3 men I saw went in were hoping for that. Anyway, nice restaurant!

Stopped in for dinner on 5÷21÷15. I ordered the chicken scarpiello with sausage and peppers, as per the waitress’s recommendation, which was delicious. We received complimentary fried zucchini, which was also great. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning.

They say food is good if it ends up on your Clothes… And Let me tell You everyone at the dinner table had some sort of sauce on their clothes. Lol. Dinner here was amazing as well as the service. We had an amazing appetizer sampler. . Great Drinks. And for the Main course I had shrimp Parm. My stepfather had Pepper Steak and my mom had chicken Parm. All the food was amazing. The Portions were plenty. I would definitely recommend this cool spot if your ever in the mood for some authentic Italian food.

I try not to be a negative person… but if I could give this place zero stars I would. I am Italian and have been to several different amazing restaurants and not so great ones. This is by far one of the worst tasting italian food places I have ever been too. Let me start off with the décor. Very old, unappealing and boring. Nothing inviting and everything looks worn down. The place itself is small and cramped but that doesn’t matter because theres hardly ever anyone inside. For such horrible food the prices are on the expensive side. My boyfriend and I started off with three appetizers. The mussels, calamari and garlic bread. The mussels tasted old and under-cooked. We were scared to eat them so we had a few and then stopped. The calamari was soggy and tasted frozen. We were disgusted. The garlic bread — where is the garlic? I was so upset but tried to hope for better when it came time for the entrees. From there it got worse… the food was awful and we couldn’t even finish it because we started to feel sick. I don’t know why this place has so many good reviews. The food is horrible and the chefs should be fired because for expensive prices I feel like I’m eating frozen food. Definitely avoid going there. So many better options in Yonkers or even the Bronx.

Today was a great day at San Martino! Firstly, Thursday includes the two for one pastas. Great. We had complimentary fried zucchini which was excellent along with its marinara sauce. Plus, nice, warm italian bread with butter and they gave us olive oil for dipping as we requested. Had the Chicken & Broccoli pasta made with garlic and olive oil AND pasta with mushroom sauce. The waiter tried to tell me that this was not on the menu but I told him that after eating here for forty years and the cook making it for me, I knew it was on the menu. Needless to say that I got my pasta with mushroom sauce(red sauce with garlic and wine) and ITWASTHEMOSTAMAZING, AMAZINGDISH!!! Hubby’s Chicken/broccoli with garlic and oil was PERFECTION. I had to ask who had cooked tonight and it was GINO. GINO, keep up that amazing cooking. Your food was 5 stars tonight. Thank you

I’m a native of «Yonkas». I have mixed reviews of this restaurant. Since I’m a highly visual person I’ll start wth the décor. It’s tacky. And when I mean tacky, I’m saying if your over 60, you’re an Italian-American from these parts of Westchester and you don’t like change and your losing your eyesight, then décor starts to matter less and less. Because it’s what you know and it’s comforting. Personally, it could do with a bit of a face lift. The plastic plants have to go the way of the dinosaurs. Into a fiery hell. The food. It’s the type of food that sticks to basics of Italian cuisine. It’s Old school Comfort food. Lotsa red sauce thrown at you from all different angles. And the dishes we have had so far have either been a huge miss or a hit and barely anything inbetween. We started out with the fried calamari — a staple at most Italian restaurants in this area — it was okay albeit a little too greasy for my taste. They could have done well to place them in some absorbent paper to cut the greasiness. Then they offered us a complimentary fried Zucchini basket that was filled to the brim. I like the vegetable zucchini like I like standing in line at the DMV. So I won’t be able to comment on the taste. My partner seemed to enjoy the zucchini. Then she had the Lobster Ravioli in a Vodka sauce. We’ve been here twice in the last month and she had this dish for the second straight time. And it had bits of cured meat in it that we can see. And I’m going to say it was either pancetta — Italian bacon or American Bacon. There is plenty of Lobster meat inside that’s delicious. This dish is HIGHLY recommended. It’s pink, creamy and has a richly rewarding taste. Run don’t walk to order this dish. Now I was torn between the Lobster ravioli and the Zuppa di Pesce Marinara. But since she was getting the Lobster Ravioli I figured she’d share a few pieces. I ordered the Zuppa d Pesce. Presentation was decent. The mussels tasted old and did not go down well. The clams were decent, the shrimp was okay, I found two lonely bay scallops that were not tasty, the little neck clams were good as well as the chopped clams. The rest of the plate was dominated by mostly calamari. The same calamari they fry allover the place in here. I was overall slightly disappointed with this meal. Now the service is great. They make the customer feel like they are not in a restaurant, instead more like being at home with your own family. And as an added bonus they usually have live entertainment on the weekends. Last night that had an elderly man singing oldies while an annoying drum machine kept tempo and another gentleman strummed the guitar. He sang favorites from Fank Sinatra to Otis Redding. There are many local die hard silver haired patrons who frequent this place. Sticking to their tried and true restaurant. And that has it’s own charms. Again it’s a hit or miss with the food here. So pick your food battles well. And don’t forget to enjoy the«moist towelettes» at the end of your old fashioned meals here. Buon Appettito!

Love love love this place! There is something to be said about Italian food that feels like your Nana cooked in her own kitchen. It’s warm, comforting food that reminds me of home. Most Italian restaurants are overpriced and serve the same generic good. San Martino’s puts creative twists on the classics without charging an arm and a leg. My family loves going here especially during the holidays because the family environment makes us feel at home. The servers are sweet and I always leave with a satisfied, full belly. That’s Italian cooking for you!

I went to San Martino last Friday night. In my opinion, I think it’s a great place to go on a Friday night. After a long hard week of work who doesn’t want some comforting yummy Italian food. It’s a casual atmosphere and you’re surrounded by a super nice staff. This restaurant is pretty flexible when it comes to ordering. Let’s say I’m in the mood for vodka sauce and ravioli. BAM. I can do that pasta and sauce combination. Or if I’m in the mood for vodka sauce and gnocchi. I can do that. OH before I go on any further, let me explain their Vodka sauce to you. It’s not the usual thick creamy vodka sauce. It’s lighter and more«loose» but so delicious. And the best part is I get to dunk my bread in it so I can soak up every bit of this liquid magic(of course after I finish all my pasta!). Another one of my go-to pasta dish is Baked Tortellini. It is served on hot metal plate that keeps your pasta steaming while you enjoy each little guy covered in melted mozzarella cheese. If I’m in the mood for a protein, I usually go with the Chicken Scarpiello with sausage. Sometimes I add cherry peppers for a nice kick. You can’t go wrong with this dish. The sauce if full of garlicky flavor. For a side, I usually go with Escarole! Escarole is not a vegetable you find in most restaurants and it’s a good alternative to the common vegetables I normally eat everyday(broccoli, spinach, etc.). If I’m in the mood for seafood, I go with the File Sole Orgenante. It’s simple, light and delicious. The breadcrumbs sprinkled on top give it a little extra umph. For apps, zucchini fritti(fried zuchhini sticks) is a good way to start. In terms of the atmosphere, the restaurant has some dated décor but I don’t mind that. It’s a cute cozy family run business. As long as it has good food, it’s a check in my book.

Terrible service and definitely not for young couples on a date! My boyfriend and I drive by San Martino’s all the time, so decided to give it a try one day. The décor in this place is OLD, their regular customers are generally in their 70s+. They have box TVs hanging from the ceiling and allow their regulars to put on boring shows with loud volume. Our waitress was extremely forgetful with our simple order. Our food took forever to come out. We were not impressed with our dishes at all! We paid almost $ 100 for cafeteria grade italian good and a terrible experience! Needless to say we’ll never go back to this place!

I had a coupon for dinner, food was good. Service could’ve been better. After the bill was charged, the waitress asked us if we wanted another round of drinks. We did, then we got the bill, she charged us seperately with ADDITIIONALTAX to our dinner AND failed to include the coupon, we reminded her of the coupon, but she still kept the additional tax on the drinks! Well there goes her tip On top of the fact we were the only ones in the restaurant & it took forever for our food.

What in the devil is going on in Westchester County? This is what passes for an Italian restaurant? Disgusting. Hideous dining room from 1981, servers from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, food from a cafeteria in a hospital and aromas worse than those emanating from a diaper. Every time the front door opened the next customer was more grotesque than the one before him. I thought for sure I was in a bad dream.

I’m not sure if the people who gave these 5 star reviews eat anywhere except maybe a diner or hospital? Very chef boy rd, as another stated. Very old attire and not too clean. I would serious skip this place. I enjoy quality.

This is actually my favorite Italian restaurant. The food is good, the prices are affordable, and they have a nice price-fix menu on certain days/times. I’ve been coming here about two times a year for the past ten years. It has always been a place where I felt totally relaxed in an old-fashioned Italian restaurant where nothing was too fancy but everything was tasty and enjoyable. Last year I organized a dinner for some folks from work. We all are Italian teachers/professors and they had an Italian singer dressed as Elvis. It was one of the best nights we had in a while. In my experience, their hot antipasto and the eggplant parmigiana have always been great plates to order. They also make a great«rusty nail», with just the right mix of Scotch and Drambuie. Altogether: go, relax, have a nice dinner, and bring your Mom. It’s Italian-American dining at its most pleasant and without pretension.

Food is excellent here, So are drinks. The décor is a bit old school but I find that places like this that have been in business for 50 years usually have great food. Service has always been good, I have never had an issue.
