Showed up with my girlfriend at 7:50pm on a Monday night and we waited at the counter for someone to take our order. We waited around 10 minutes with no contact until the guy finally acknowledged us and said«we are no longer taking orders because we closed at 8» and asked us to leave. The dessert looked great but we didn’t get to taste it due to horrible customer service and surprisingly early closing hours on a 106 degree summer day hence the 1 star review.

I have gone here twice in the last week BEFORE closing time and been turned away by your workers. Tonight I walked in at 7:47 and your worker told me, «we aren’t taking anymore orders.» EVENTHOUGHTHEYWERESTILLOPENFOR13MINUTES! It’s summer and 97 degrees are you for real Oahu? I won’t ever be coming back after being treated like that.

This place is so much worse now. I don’t understand it. It isn’t open as long as it us to be and just doesn’t seem the same as it used to be.

We were looking for a dessert spot and got lucky by discovering this place. They sell shave ice, ice cream, sundaes & sandwich melts. They have a large selection of all items. Their prices are extremely affordable and their portions are extremely large!!! Extremely glad we discovered this spot. We will definitely be back!!!

So nice that my nephew can go somewhere for dessert other than ice cream. They are always so nice and I’m a pain and always ask for extra syrup and they always are so sweet and give it to me.

I’ve been to the Brea location twice. The first time I had a really good experience. Went the 2nd time and the location was closed, but it wasn’t posted on Unilocal or on their phone system yet. However, they just catered my daughter’s 1st birthday party and did an awesome job! Email inquiry and communication were good. They even called the day before the party to confirm the event. We had about 100 guests and 2 people catered to them very well. From kids to adults, they were a big hit. I highly recommend them for catering!

This place takes shaved ice to a whole new level. They have a great selection of traditional flavors, but what makes them stand out are the combos of shaved ice with ice cream mixed in and additional toppings. Very creative menu and something always new to try. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that the service is sloooooooow! They have a sandwich shop that makes«melts», like grilled cheese, as part of their store. This sandwich operation is very time consuming and not well run, which takes more time than making shaved ice — so, if you walk in and there is a line, it’s because the workers are making sandwiches and you will wait for quite some time for your shaved ice. Tip — if there is a line of less than 5 people, stay put. Anything more than that, come back another day!

I can never get enough of desserts so after dinner I drug my husband here. hawaiian shave ice(up to 3 flavors) — Kids: $ 2.50 — Small: $ 3.50 — Large: $ 4.50 — Jumbo: $ 5.75 + extra topping $ 0.50 + add a scoop of ice cream: $ 1.00 I ordered a small and could barely finish it, so I would maybe suggest sharing a small with someone. I got strawberry, watermelon, and banana. I didn’t care for the banana too much. The other two were delicious. I think this would taste better on a really hot summer day when you’re looking for a way to cool off. Given that this spot is out of my way, I really don’t see a reason to come back unless I’m in the area.

Purchased a Groupon for«Epic Melt». I found not only the Groupon deceiving(photo) but where the«new» business is located. It is inside an existing business by the same owner. This should be added to the existing menu of shaved ice cream and regular ice cream, which is the primary of this business. It’s made to believe it’s a new restaurant/shop. The Epic melt only offers a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches to choose from. That’s it! When you use the Groupon for $ 10.00 and you get a grill cheese and a can drink it’s way under $ 10.00. The owner pockets the rest. We ordered two grill cheese sandwiches that totaled $ 9.00. So to recoup your $ 10.00 you need to buy two grill cheese sandwiches. If you buy two can drinks you’ll reach into your wallet to cover the drinks. There is nothing Epic about this grilled cheese. Very salty and flat. Not worth it.

I had pretty high expectations since Matsumoto’s on Oahu is pretty hard to beat. Was extremely impressed with the flavor combinations and the friendly staff. At first I thought the prices were a bit steep but the portions completely justify it. I ordered a small and could barely finish it, so unless you’re sharing I would suggest a kids size Love the ambiance of the shop and their surfboard tables.

I got here right at 9PM when they were closing, there sign was still on and the manager was interviewing a someone for a job. He said I was 1 minute early, and I still was able to get my shaved ice! I ordered a small Oahu P.O.G.(Passion Fruit, Orange Guava Ice, Condensed Milk and Coconut Pineapple Ice Cream). The flavor was delicious, really could taste the passion fruit and guava and with the condensed milk on top and the coconut pineapple ice cream, it was creamy, a little tangy, a little sweet, and tropical. The coconut pineapple ice cream had shreds of coconut and chunks of pineapple, I felt like I was in Hawaii. Good shaved ice and great service, i’ll definitely return when the heat continues.

Okay it was my fault we ended up here… I can never get enough of my desserts so after dinner Joe P., Kevin P., and Kat P., got dragged here so I could check out Oahu Shave Ice & Ice Cream. I was being an opportunist since I am not usually in this Yorba Linda area. Might as well, right? HAWAIIANSHAVEDICE(up to 3 flavors) — Kids: $ 2.50 — Small: $ 3.50 — Large: $ 4.50 — Jumbo: $ 5.75 + extra topping $ 0.50 + add a scoop of ice cream: $ 1.00 Since I wanted to go all out on my dessert, I wanted to make my own creation. I ordered the small($ 3.50) with horchata and tiramisu and I added a scoop of butter pecan ice cream($ 1.00) as a base. And then I actually went back and added condense milk on top($ 0.55). I was somewhat disappointed with the flavors of the shaved ice. I have a spot I go to in Irvine and this place falls short by far. The texture of the ice can definitely use work. As much as I like thirfty ice cream, I was annoyed by how soft and melted it was. It was laying under shaved ice, it really shouldn’t have melted so fast. They need to crank up their fridge. As Joe P. stated in his review, I did not care to finish my dessert. Everyone else got the OAHU P.O.S., one of the presuggested combinations with passion fruit, orange and guava. I tried a bit of their and the orange overpowered the other two more delicate flavors. At Sticky Fingers in Irvine, the fruit flavored syrup usually has the fruit bits integrated into the syrup and the flavors are much more desirable. Given that this spot is out of my way, I really don’t see a reason to come back. I regret not just ordering a scoop of green tea ice cream at Noguchi. I probably would have been more satisfied.

We dropped by here after eating a fantastic meal at Sushi Noguchi up the street. In addition, the ladies had already tried dessert at Noguchi, but Van D wanted to use her third stomach for a sweeter variety — LOL! O’ahu Shave Ice is on YL Blvd & Fairmont in Yorba Linda. The original location is in Fullerton. I ordered the POG — Passion/Orange/Guava w/condensed milk and coconut/pineapple ice cream($ 3.75 — kids size). Van ordered horchata & tiramisu w/butter pecan ice cream($ 4.75 — small). First of all, I couldn’t really taste the POG. Shave ice flavors are supposed to jump out at you. In addition, the texture of the ice was off a bit: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the ice cream was very good(Thriftys): 4 Stars. I didn’t try Van’s, but she didn’t finish hers, which is a first for her on dessert — LMAO!!! Regarding the ambiance is nothing to speak of, but they did have a restroom: 3 Stars. The service was good. The staff was friendly and efficient, despite the staff being very young: 4 Stars. I’ve had the best shave ice in the lslands: Matsumotos, Kokonuts(O’ahu), Scandi(Hawai’i) and Ululani(Maui), in addition to Hula Girls in Huntington Beach. Unfortunately, O’ahu doesn’t compare. There was something lacking in the flavor, and texture of the ice. The shaping of the ice is an art, that takes a lot of practice. This is an OK neighborhood place, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

Today I was craving a shaved ice — a proper«real» shave ice… Not the thick chunks or stuff with the consistency of cotton candy(even worse). I found this place on Unilocal, drove out and it was 100% worth the 30 minute drive. Some have complained that the line is crazy or service is slow but I didn’t have that problem. Perhaps they came on off days. Totally worth it and I will be back!

5 star service 1 star OWNER Huge line waiting out the door. The owner must be so disconnected with the business that they have one guy working. Literally one guy working on a Friday night of a hot day. Huge wait. Again, awesome service. Guy is hustling. But the owner is truly disconnected. I will be surprised if the best talent quit and the business goes down.
