I took my mother to this place for Mother’s Day and we both enjoyed our food! The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were quickly seated and severed. The French toast was great and so was my mimosa!

This is my absolute favorite breakfast place in the area and Southside. Food is extremely afforded and delicious and it comes out so fast. Like maybe 5 mins after you order it sometimes. Every one here is so nice. One time the Asian lady(maybe owner) was cranky though but my mama is Korean so it was just the norm for me. If I ever have friends over I take them here. Menu had LOTS of options for lunch and dinner and breakfast. It is hella busy on the weekends so it’s really hard o get in unless you go early. Very clean and adorable lil place. They also have TVs and alcohol.

We stopped here when we were headed to the airport. It was our last chance to try this place. I ordered the Pecan Pancake Platter, with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon for sides. They actually listened, and the bacon WAS crispy! Then I saw the Scotch Eggs on the menu, and I had to order those! They were SO very good, words cannot describe. And even though I’m usually not that into sweet breakfasts, the pecan pancakes, with some butter and syrup were the MOST awesome. I also had a Bloody Mary which, for me, is the BEST drink for breakfast! Thumbs up across the board. I have NO idea what my husband or daughter got, I was too busy shoveling mine in.

Delightful place with an unassuming storefront. I’ve driven past food craft for years but never thought to try it out. Don’t be like me, try this place now! The food is great and the waiters are very friendly. I recommend the country fried chicken with a biscuit. It’s all the best!

I’m always looking for a great place for breakfast, and I’ve just found one. The wait staff is friendly, the service is good, and the coffee is fresh, hot, balanced and tasty. They have Scotch Eggs on the menu. While not traditionally a breakfast item, it hits the spot.

Great spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch. Get there early because it gets pretty busy! Everyone’s very friendly. Good service. Inside is decorated nicely. 5 $ Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s! Started out with scotch eggs, which are hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage. They’re amazing and unique to Food Craft. Haven’t seen them anywhere else in Newport News. I got the French Toast with powdered sugar and butter, which was great. Sweet without being too sweet. Others at my table got the pumpkin, Cinnabon, and lemon pancakes and they all enjoyed it, Cinnabon definitely won out on top! The chicken platter was good too, but would highly recommend scotch eggs, French toast and any of their pancakes, but especially the Cinnabon and pumpkin!

I want to like this place so much. i will go here with friends if they ask, but I don’t know that I will go here on my own. Atmosphere: Very clean. updated diner. Trendy dinnerware, cute décor. Nothing really stands out to me. It can feel very crowded/claustrophobic during rush hour(brunch on the weekend) but honestly, this area doesn’t offer a lot by way of good breakfast. They do have outdoor patio seating, which I love in the warm season. Service: Usually the waitress is nice enough, but refills are hard to come by(and I have to say this in particular takes off major points for my dining experience). We may be visited once during our meal, so if we need anything we have to flag someone down to help us. If you sit at the bar, it is much better because the guy behind the counter is observant and tends to needs quickly; plus he will have a little bit of conversation with you. Food: The food is average. The portions are big and the available options are classics for diner food. I tend to stick with pancakes and waffles because that is more consistent. Otherwise, my food is sometimes too greasy, or not cooked how I asked. Most times, I would prefer to just stay home and make my own pancakes(with real syrup… this is a side-note drool) than go spend my money.

Delightful little spot for breakfast and brunch. The atmosphere is warm, but loud. With the exception of the small bar in the restaurant, there are only tables in the restaurant, no booths. When I visited at 11AM in the morning on a Friday, it was already fairly busy, and loud, but I was seated immediately and my perky, courteous server was quick to visit for the first part of my order. The food is well prepared, reasonably priced, and served promptly. Enjoy a $ 5 mimosa or Bloody Mary(I had the Bloody Mary which was delightful) along with brunch.

H and I came here for breakfast/lunch the other day. First off, their menu is RIDICULOUS! There are so many items on it that I want to try!!! There’s an awesome selection, with something for everyone. I got the Western Omelet and added sour cream and salsa. At first, I thought it was odd that they charges .50 for these, but when my omelet came out, the salsa and sour cream were basically SIDES! I’m totally ok with the upcharge in this case. The omelet had it been unfolded would probably stretch over a regular plate. It was chalk full of veggies and bacon, with a few extra pieces of bacon on top for good measure. It was DELICIOUS. H got the Fish and Chips. this platter was MASSIVE. It had four huge pieces of deep fried fish, fries, and slaw. He let me try it and MAN! That’s some good fish. I’m honestly surprised he finished his meal. He kept saying how full he was but he just kept eating! lol The service was great, our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and specials, and made sure she swung through to refresh our drinks constantly. I’m super stoked about this place, and have at least five more menu items I want to try. We’ll be back!!!

So I was pleasantly surprised by the service and food at this breakfast/brunch spot! Everyone that attends Hampton University know that Tommy’s is a staple for breakfast. Every homecoming weekend, the line is out of the door to get a Tommy’s fix. But we wanted to try a different place this time and found this using the trusty Unilocal reviews. When we walked in, I was surprised to see a few other fellow classmates(as I am guessing everyone is catching the wave of the good food here!). We were promptly greeted and did not wait too long for a seat. Once seated, we were greeted by our waitress, whom kept a smile and pleasant communication the entire time. My husband ordered the Cinnabon pancakes(YESYOUHEARDRIGHT!) drizzled with cream cheese topping and syrup on the side, which you don’t even need! I ordered the french toast platter and received four thick slices of french bread that were also just as tasty without much syrup. Overall, the food was so good and the service was so impeccable that we will definitely come here as our new Hampton Roads breakfast spot! The prices are also super reasonable. So glad we decided to try it :)

Visited Sept 4, 2015. Ordered the western omlette… there wasn’t alot of veggies but there was alot of bacon. Got the hand made biscuits with gravy. It was tastey and would compare to be a little better than cracker barrel. The pancakes… that was where they shined. You know how much I love novel things. They had pumpkin, lemon and cinnabar pancakes. Skeptical I tried the cinnabon pancakes and they tasted very close to cinnabons. I love novel dishes… and these were defineyly novel pancakes. Yes I know… IHOP did this pancake but somehow these weren’t sickingly sweet so I would recommend it. As for price… God I love visiting places out of DC after all that food… my bill didn’t break $ 20. Definetly a spot worth visiting when in town.

Went here for brunch the other day. Service was fantastic, food and drinks came out in a relatively quick manner despite the establishment being very busy. Our waitress was awesome and checked up on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. The $ 5.00 Bloody Marys are great if you like spicy drinks and the mimosas are also pretty good. Did not try the coffee! I had the veggie lover’s omelette which was a great size and served with biscuit or toast and home fries or grits. My husband has the sausage omelette which he throughly enjoyed. Only disappointing thing was the homefries. I like home cooked homefries and these were clearly just fried potato cubes like back at my undergrad cafeteria. That is really the only bad thing I can think of when I think of Food Craft. Glad we found an awesome place for brunch though!

Nice place, went on a Friday so we didn’t wait to get seated. The food was not what we expected. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, and my bf ordered the chicken fried steak, we both got the chicken fried steak. –__– the steak and gravy on top were so BLAND! We were really looking forward to it and we were both very disappointed! We MIGHT give them another shot and try the French toast or the cinnamon roll pancakes… until then they get 2 stars for the quick seating and friendly environment.

I absolutely love this place! Very homey, the food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. First time I looked this place up and saw they close at 2pm, I thought to myself that all the good brunch spots close that early. Usually packed and that’s not a surprise. The seating can be a little hectic but well worth the wait. Expect to wait a bit at peak lunch time for groups four or more.

Food Craft was such an awesome place to grab some brunch! First let’s just start with the waitress Gina(She’s soooo sweet & attentive!!) It can be a little crowded but when it comes to places that serve great food and have great service I’ve learned that’s to be expected :) I didn’t get the chance to try their $ 5 Mimosa’s & Bloody Mary’s(darn you weekday! –_– lol) but ill definitely try one the next time I go on the weekend. The menu was pretty big and the table beside mines had just been served this HUGE Thursday special of Meatloaf & Mash(no like serious guys that portion was huge! Lol) but I stuck with breakfast and was not disappointed. Their French Toast was really good and I saw in the menu that they have something called«Scotch Eggs» that’s an hard boiled egg inside sausage(yep, sounds heavenly) but I wanted to save some things for my futures visits. Lol. Overall this place gets 5stars from me but when I left and I saw a waitress bringing out glasses of sweet tea to the workers that were working outside on the road, makes me wish I could give way more than 5stars! That’s so rare to see kindness like that and those workers were so thankful! I love seeing stuff like that :)
