Union Brothers Detroit Style Pizza

Great pizza, nice staff and quick service. They deliver as well. If you sign up for their email service they’ll send you really good coupons. Their salads are large and tasty as well.

This is my normal pizza place that my friends and I order pizza from. They’ve got something special here. Out of my 20 or so orders (lost count), the only negative thing I can say is that they were taking a long time to deliver (one time) and I offered to pick it up but they insisted that it was on its way. I’m giving them a pass on that one time only because I understand that they get busy and I do believe (if I remember correctly) that I ordered it during a peak time.

Sooo yummy. We had order 2 pizzas and they were scrumptious. We will be ordering more pizza in the future. This pizza reminds me of a place in Jersey that our Cousin took us to. I think it was called Kate and Al’s…Cals. I don’t remember but it was at the Columbus Market. The dough was delicious! Not soggy at all! Please try Union Brother pizza! You won’t regret it.:)

Pizza was great! Crispy crust and fresh toppings. Only negative is the pizza got soggy fast from all of the sauce. Would definitely go back though

Hubby and I really like the pizza and it is close to our house. My only complaint would be that we ordered BBQ wings and got Parmesan, our extra sauce was cold (is it supposed to be that way?), and our pizza was a little cold towards the middle (could be the way the meat was?). Other than that, we plan to go back and try a few other items on their menu!!! :)

Will never again order from or recommend Union Brothers Pizza. Ordered 2 pizzas from them ($ 32.80 for 2 pizzas and 5 small wings.) One of them was a soggy doughy mess that wasn’t cooked all the way through. Son spoke to Scott (one of the owners). He explained the situation & offered to send him the photos he took or bring them back to the store. Scott said no, he would send another one out, that wasn’t necessary. 3 ½ hours later we have no pizza. He called the store to find out what happened since we have not heard anything or gotten the remake. Scott says (mind you I can hear him sitting on the other sofa) «yea we got busy and I’m not gonna replace it because I think you are just F*&%ing with us because Jessica made it and I’m the one who boxed it» This guy is way out of line! That’s how you handle a customer complaint? You swear like that?

Not the worst pizza I’ve ever had, but my husband thought it tastes like gas station pizza. We got the round pizzas because my husband won’t do square. The wings were very soggy (though we did ask for extra sauce but still). The breadsticks were grayish and tasted much more appetizing than they look. For the price we paid, it should’ve tasted better. Delivery was spot on for time though. Probably won’t be ordering again.

This is our new favorite pizza spot for fast food pizza. I do not like Papa Johns/​Dominoes/​etc. But this place and their unique approach to pizza is just delicious. Their wings are good and their pizza is good. I have heard from a friend that their salads are to die for, but I have yet to try one.

Really like this place! Came here a couple of months ago and got their Detroit style pizza with pepperoni. The lady who took our order at the counter was extremely friendly and also gave us coupons for future visits. We came back after about 15 minutes and our pizza was ready. Hot and fresh. You could definitely tell that the ingredients were fresh and not canned. This place is nearby so we will definitely become regulars here!

Super friendly, fast delivery and delicious pizza! We got 2 larges for under $ 30 with tip. I will 100% eat here again. All 6 of us absolutely loved it.

Fantastic! I’m originally from Detroit, and I grew up on Buddy’s and Shields. This was a very good approximation of the real deal — perhaps with not as much crunch on the edges.
I had what I always get at Buddy’s, pepperoni and mushroom, and got extra so that I’d have breakfast the next day. Best Detroit-​style pizza I’ve had outside of Detroit!

Delicious pizza! It was so fresh and with the sauce on top, you really appreciate it’s freshness. It was my first time trying Detroit style pizza, and definitely wasn’t disappointed. My hubby never eats the crust off pizzas, not this time! and I think it might pay off to get the small just to get all corner pieces.
What really made this place great was the dedication these guys have for their pizza. They endure their obnoxiously loud pizza dragon (pizza oven) day in and day out to make this deliciousness! Thanks guys!

I wish I could eat here more often! Delicious style of pizza and hard to stop eating! I recommend keeping the toppings to two max if you do the create your own, you just get more flavors!!! The pizza I had tonight was cooked perfectly— it was chewy, crispy, saucy, cheesy, deliciousness in a box! They have wide variety of specials and please support this local pizza spot! Pizza rolls are also delicious (still). Quality ingredients and food made with care. Please keep up he good work Union Brothers!

I’m not sure how people can call this the best pizza. It’s different definitely and tastes OK, not great. My complaints are the sauce is not evenly spread, jiust kind of ladled down the middle so the end pieces have hardly any and the middle ones are totally covered and basically need to be eaten by fork and knife unless you want a sauce bath. They are also very skimpy in toppings, we ordered a meatball and several of the pieces had ZERO meatball slices. I give this place a three star because the pieces that have the right amount of sauce and toppings (usually ²⁄₆ pieces) are tasty.

I’m from Detroit. I know Buddy’s all too well.
Although the owner will tell you that he cooks it slightly from how Buddy’s does (it involves timing the sauce), he went out of his way to find the same cheese that Buddy’s uses.
For people who have never had Detroit style pizza, these are inconsequential details.
The most important thing is to try this fantastic approach to pizza. This is the best pizza around. No cardboard crust and gimmicky garlic butter sauces. Flavor crust? Why bother, when you can have the buttered crust crisped in a native fashion without additives.

Always very fresh ingredients. Easily better than the other big pizza companies. I hope this company continues to grow.
Only negative is the UB I order from in Yorktown, VA does not start delivery until after 4pm on Sundays. During the football season I get pizza 2 to 3 times a month. Its hard waiting that long, but when I do its completely worth it.

This is actually my second night in a row getting pizza from these guys. Just want to make sure it was as good the night before. That and too busy to cook this week. Pizza was very good. Not sure if it is the style, the cheese, or the golden crust but we loved it. Trying something different tonight as well.
Oh and the salads are made fresh and is tasty as well. Enjoy

I work right down the street from this place and I decided to give it a try because I was thinking «What could be so great about Detroit Style?» Wow I was impressed. The crust is delicious and even though it’s deep dish it’s not full of grease like Pizza Hut, which makes me ill. The cheese is awesome and I love the sauce on top. I’ve had it with garlic sauce and with the regular. The Margherita is good with added sausage or chicken.
The only downside is that with the oven they use, it tends to blacken the crust at the edges and I’ve never been a big fan of blackened anything. Other than that, the place is amazing.

Union Brothers Pizza brings a taste of Michigan to Hampton, VA. I have heard mixed reviews about this spot before I had the chance to try it. The driving factor in my desire to try it was a rave review from two of my close friends from just outside Detroit originally.
My hubby and I ordered a large teamster last night which has green pepper, red onions, mushrooms, and pepperoni on it. It was absolutely delicious. I like my pizza saucy, so I appreciated the dollop of original sauce on the center of every slice. The anatomy of detroit style pizza is different from traditional pizza. It seemed to be a doughy bottom with cheese directly on top, then topped with your choice of toppings, and finished with a dollop of sauce. My favorite bites of each slice were the saucy sections.
My only negative comment about the pizza would be that a large pizza has only 8 slices, so you have to consider that when eating for a group. My friends recommended I try their selection of breads, they said the red pepper and bacon is amazing so I will have to try that with my next order. Im looking forward to my next experience with Union Brothers Pizza!
