This is strictly take-out food. The fries were good, but the fish and seafood were WAY too greasy — I think it’s because the fryers aren’t hot enough. Nice people, OK prices, but I can’t eat fish and shrimp that are soaked and DRIPPING fryer grease — put my guts in glurts mode until late the next day.

This place gets the job done. I came here for 4 catfish cut in half, 10 fried shrimp, hush puppies and cole slaw. I would come back for everything but the shrimp(they were small, fried too hard) and especially not the cole slaw(it had a reallyyyyy odd taste). My food was done in about 15 minutes and the service was really definitely coming back!

OK, I’ve eaten here a total of four separate times, and now I’m ready to review it. The reason is with neighborhood fry and eat fish spots, you want to be sure they always have fresh product. To be fair, I’ve only ordered fish, so I can’t speak about their chicken… Express Chicken and Fish provides Hot and seasoned fish and fries. You really couldn’t ask for much more. Overall I give them 6 out of 10. The only reason I can’t go higher, is I’ve had other neighborhood fry and eat fish spots that gives larger portions, plus I think steak fries are better with fish.

Interesting place, you buy your fish by the pound and they cook it to order for you to take home and eat. No seating at all. It looks pretty shady outside but it’s fine, basic but not scary. The breaded style catfish is the best of the lot. Really enjoyable and consistent. Super fresh as they cook it before your eyes, you can even pick your exact pieces out of the case first. We have gotten it a few times now and enjoy it. The cod is good, flaky and battered up well. Nice flavor. I have had better cod though myself. It will do in a pinch but I much prefer the catfish here. The perch was a wreck the one time I had it. I would not recommend it at all. I am extremely picky about perch though. Fries and slaw are standard, take or leave it. We have had hush puppies a couple times and they are kind of fun for a change. Getting enough tartar and/or cocktail sauce out of them though is like bargaining for their first born child. I recommend you buy the bottles they sell instead or do like I do and make your own ahead of time. I prefer catfish with homemade remoulade at any rate. Worth a whirl if you live close by.
